I think I mentioned somewhere else that I was pretty bummed about heading out to an AMC Theatres to catch this one... 🙂 it was easily the bloodiest, grossest, most stomach-turning entry yet 😁 and there were parts where I actually had to cover my ears because I just couldn't bear to listen... 😁 so yeah... I'll definitely be waiting to watch the fifth one from the comfort of my own couch 😍

😕 Man, I’m totally lost here... at the start of the movie, they find a tape left behind by Jigsaw, right? But then, during that final scene where the cop walks into the room where Amanda and that wife—you know the one—were hanging out, Jigsaw is just lying there dead, exactly like he was in the third movie... I don't get it, maybe I'm just tripping and missed something 🤷

Visually, the movie is an absolute assault on the eyes, and the sound design? Not great either. There’s way too much plot happening, which is totally unnecessary for a genre like this. The acting is just bad—super over-the-top—with everyone being terrible except for Jigsaw. Honestly, the only thing worth watching is when Jigsaw shows up and that whole aura he carries, though even that starts to feel a bit thin every time he reappears.
That opening puzzle was brilliant. There are a few other decent ones scattered in there, but most of them are just plain awful.
It’s a real shame, really. Saw I left such a massive impression on me, but everything following it just keeps dragging the franchise down. I remember Saw II being worse than the first, then Saw III felt a little better than the second but still didn't touch the original, and now Saw IV has completely ruined the whole vibe.
I’m telling you again, it’s such a bummer because Saw I really hit home for me.
On a different note, Jigsaw's wife looked great. I have no idea how old she is or who she even is, but man, the camera angles definitely did her assets justice.
Is that your expert professional critique or... ☕
Oh, come on, please define "good acting" for me! You know, like those times you see someone like J. Lo where the acting feels about as deep as a puddle, or those actors who clearly view this as just a paycheck, but these guys? All of them fall right into that middle ground of being just okay or mediocre. 😛
And Saw IV didn't ruin everything; it just laid it all out for us (though, man, I really hope the sixth one is the last one planned.😁 )
So yeah... what a mess.

That part bugged me too, so I basically just stopped trying to figure it out. I figured it’s probably just how it happened and they'll iron out the details in future sequels. Or maybe we both just missed something everyone else caught??

The timeline for Saw IV actually lines up perfectly with what’s happening in Saw III
Honestly, wouldn't those two movies have worked better if they were just one massive film?

I actually thought the movie was pretty cool.
It’s not exactly a cinematic masterpiece you’ll be thinking about for the next century, but definitely worth a watch...

I saw it at AMC Theatres... honestly, the movie was nothing special. The only time I actually jumped was when that guy lunged at Riggs in his apartment, you know, in the bathroom... everything else was just bad. Everyone in the theater was completely indifferent; nobody gave a damn about what happened next. My cousin actually picked up that doll 🙂🙂🙂 when she was visiting California, which is just totally twisted...

I’m not sure if anyone else caught this subtle detail in Saw IV : Donnie Wahlberg, given his history with New Kids on the Block on the Block, but throughout the entire movie, he spends most of his screen time standing on an ice block. I can only assume it’s a little jab at his past 🤣 🤣

Honestly, this was easily my least favorite out of all four... though back when I first saw the third one, I thought *that* was the bottom of the barrel—until a rewatch actually made it better for me. Sooo... maybe after I give this one a second look? Also, I still don't get how they managed the logic of having the tape at the start AND at the end of the movie, but whatever... maybe it'll click after another viewing. 🙂 I’d give it a 6.1/10... nothing crazy, especially compared to the first three... (but again, maybe after round two??) 🙂

I haven't actually sat down to watch this one yet, mostly because I still haven't even gotten around to the third installment. To be honest, I just haven't felt like diving in since everyone who's seen it is calling it an absolute train wreck—basically saying it’s total garbage and a complete waste of time.
Still, I'm holding out a tiny bit of hope that they didn't mess up too badly, mainly because I actually thought the first two sequels were pretty solid.👍
...but looking at all the reviews from people who have already watched it, it sounds like they definitely did.👎

I don't think > is your run-of-the-mill horror flick—it’s not even about being scary, per se, it's just... unsettling. They managed—especially in the first one—to put the audience right in the victim's shoes. You end up watching every single task through their eyes, just wondering, "Could I actually pull that off?"
As for >, I think they stuck to their guns here. They didn't try to be something they weren't—unlike what happened with .

I’m loving this movie—honestly, the whole series has been great so far...
Look, people are always going to have opinions, but all this arguing over whether the film is actually "good" or not? It’s kind of pointless—everyone’s got their own taste, right?
Oh, and by the way, they’re planning seven sequels... 😁
Since there are seven books in the series, that means we're looking at seven movies total.😁
