I feel like I've been given too much of a rundown on this. To me, ready-to-wear still stands alone as Altman's absolute masterpiece.

To me, he’s the finest Altman since Nešvil.

Though, I suppose I really ought to revisit The Long Goodbye.

I just remembered that Short Cutsi actually has some brilliant moments, especially regarding how they handle Tim Robbins' character... 🙂

I was just thinking about that specific scene where he pulls over a woman dressed like a clown, gives her a ticket for driving too slow, and then asks for her number... 🙂

And man, once she finally tracks down the number he gave her, only for him to reveal it was actually a fraudster wanted in three different states, and he’s been tracking her this whole time... 😂

Then comes the kicker: she actually finds the number he wrote down, only for him to reveal he was actually tracking a con artist wanted in three different states, and he just happened to stumble onto her... 😂

For me, the funniest part is always when an earthquake hits and he just grabs a megaphone with total confidence. 😂

Actually, I didn't get confused at all. Ready-to-wear isn't just Altman's best work in my eyes—it's easily one of my all-time favorites.

The casting in that movie is just unreal. Everyone in that lineup fits their role so perfectly, it’s like they were born to play those specific characters. I actually started a whole separate thread about Ready-to-wear where I went into much more detail about why the film works so well for me... so I won't bore everyone by repeating myself here. 😉 👋
