I need to report some weird pop-ups I'm getting when I browse Reddit on my Android phone using Opera. A notification keeps flashing up saying my device is infected and I need to download an antivirus immediately. This started happening yesterday, and it’s strictly limited to when I'm on Reddit pages. It feels like one of the ads might be compromised or something.

I'm running into the exact same issue.

I suppose I feel the same way 😢.

Furthermore, I occasionally find myself wondering if my phone has been compromised by malware, or if the device is simply deciding to uninstall this nonsense on its own accord...

For some reason, whenever I use Google Chrome, I keep getting hit with these random pop-ups for Flash downloads...

Same thing happening on my phone. It’s flagging a virus and trying to force-download some random software. This entire forum is clearly compromised.

+1, I just hope this doesn't absolutely wreck my phone. It literally just got back from the repair shop at Best Buy 🙂

I’ve been dealing with the exact same thing on my Android phone for like 3 or 4 days now. It keeps popping up with this message saying my device is infected with a virus (13), and then it tries to redirect me to track.dovelane.com to download some "antivirus" software. Pretty obvious the virus is hiding inside one of those sketchy ads.

Not sure about your experience, but I can't even get off that page unless I hit OK. Then it acts like it's downloading something, but nothing actually shows up in my downloads, and my actual antivirus app isn't flagging a single thing. Total scam.🤷

Is anyone actually in charge of running this forum even looking at this PDF?

I'm feeling the same way; this is getting incredibly frustrating. Trying to load a page on my phone has become nearly impossible. I've tested this on several different devices, all running standard antivirus software, and the result is always the same.

The tech support folks reached out and told me this shouldn't be happening anymore. Everything seems to be running smoothly on my end now, and honestly, I was running into the exact same headache myself! Please, let me know if any of you start noticing issues again.

Look, I’ve already tried this with two different devices, and it’s the exact same story every time. It automatically triggers the download of mobogenie_122140253.apk and then pops up a notification claiming the system is infected with viruses.
