This is Spinal Tap

I can’t find this cult documentary anywhere in the streaming apps. Does anyone know what the American title is (or even just where to find a bootleg version 😁)?
Every time I ask at the local video store, people just stare at me like I’m asking for something illegal. 😠
Did this thing even get an official release here in the States? Has anyone actually seen it?

...you can't even find that in US video stores...but they just released This is Spinal Tap - special edition recently (Warner Bros. put it out), Region 1..

Finally, a thread dedicated to that absolute legend of a movie.

To be honest, though—I don't think it’s even been released here in the States.

And besides, the actual title is This Is Spinal Tap.

I’m pretty sure we can get our hands on this one right here in the States.

I actually sat down and watched it myself—well, finally did, anyway.

And man, let me tell you, the movie is absolutely killer.

A documentary? More like a pseudo-documentary....

Just caught this the other day, and man, I’m still reeling from how perfectly they pulled it all together. It’s supposedly just a bunch of enthusiasts without a real script, just rambling on and improvising these ridiculous lines that totally roast the whole rock scene... which, let's be honest, is already circling the drain since there aren't enough legit bands left.

I mean, apparently J.K. Rowling drew inspiration for the professor teaching defense against dark forces in Harry Potter straight from this movie, based on those tragic drummers... Tom Waits was actually in tears after watching it, and Steven Tyler from Aerosmith didn't find it funny at all (if he even recognized himself, which wouldn't surprise me one bit)...

The king of the mockumentary, hands down! 😬

Great movie. For me, the best part was:

I’ve spent quite a bit of time watching this already. It’s actually a great comedy, though I think a lot of musicians probably mistook it for a legit documentary because they've lived through those exact same ridiculous situations—like getting completely lost on the way to the stage.
