They're definitely on my bucket list. I started out with the budget brands, but honestly, they just don't cut it for me 🤷. Maybe I'm being extra, though.

Give it a shot and let me know how it goes 😉

I personally think they're great 😍
but man, they are pricey--definitely high-end
We didn't have much to work with back then, so I managed to scrape by somehow 😁

hm, machine-made cookies—seriously finger-licking good.
Tom and Ana? There are plenty of places over in Brooklyn where you can grab sweets made for weddings, but honestly, the ones from the local bakery are my go-to every Sunday. It’s actually worth the trip.
At the state fair, the best ones I ever had were from Heartland, or something like that—they have "heart" in the name.

Tom and Ana used to be my absolute favorites—honestly, I haven't picked anything up from them in quite a while since I moved away...
For my very first wedding, I actually wore their 😉

Where’s all the candy at?

Tom and Anna are gonna give it a shot too, might as well grab some while I'm out 😂

EDIT: Just realized—it's Sunday. I'm usually a huge fan of M&M's, but they have $40 tons over there. I was just checking to see if it was cheaper, since I'm always hitting up Target anyway.

Has anyone here tried the treats from Lantern in Jackson?
The lady who makes them actually works at a computer firm downtown with Mr. O'Connor...
My coworker picks up her baked goods for Christmas and Easter every single year—they're always delicious. I tend to judge everything by a pretty strict standard, but hers are truly top-tier...
I've gained about 150 pounds just thinking about them...
If anyone is interested, I can definitely track down her number for you
The only thing is, I'm not quite sure where she does pop-up tastings or anything like that...

At Mary's, you're looking at $33/lb for retail, or $28/lb if you buy in bulk
. I haven't tried their cakes yet—but those cream pastries with hazelnuts and forest berries were killer. Hard to say which one hits better, honestly.
Here’s an example of one of their cakes; I'm actually digging this petal design.

I mentioned these pastries before, though we haven't gotten around to tasting them yet.
My mom called to check the prices, so maybe there's a note somewhere about it.

And obviously, we'll head over to Smile in suburban New Jersey to check out those cakes priced at $22/lb.

Recommendation: if you find yourself wandering through the local shops in a town like Naperville, there is this amazing little sweet shop tucked away in the alleyway called

I’m not particularly fond of that whole thing with the lattice work... 🤷
but then again, I suppose I just have a more traditionalist streak... 🙂

If you really look at it, it’s just like any other tiered cake—each layer sits on its own little pedestal

only the base is shaped like a globe, and the cakes aren't round
it's classic, I guess, but with a bit of a twist
The girls don't actually know the price upfront—they have to coordinate the ingredients with their nutritionist first, then they work out the cost

Jason Davis5, if you're passing by, those cream puffs are actually pretty good. A little different than what I'm used to, but decent. Since the menu lists them as a cafe rather than a bakery, I didn't even bother asking if they do wedding cakes or anything😲
that's why we were thinking about hitting up Magnolia Bakery for some samples instead

Nathan Cox25 said:The pastries from the local bakery aren't really my thing—I’d much rather grab something at the diner over on Broadway. Their ice cream is way better and the desserts are actually decent. For the cakes, they quoted me $800/$300
for a group of 100, decorations included.

Wait, seriously?! Only that much? At Millennium? Really?? I might have to check them out 🙂
(though I haven't actually asked about cake prices yet, so I can't say for sure, but that doesn't seem too bad)

swiftranger16 said:I tried Absum and Cashner—honestly, it’s just not my thing. Every single cookie tastes exactly the same. You could close your eyes and have no clue which one you're eating 👎.

I know I'll probably end up working at M&M's or Lido if they'll have me, but whatever... I'm out here sampling cookies from house to house 😂

Hehe, I guess I'm kind of heading down that same path too, 😂😂😂

where have you been hiding? 😠
I was honestly about to call it a night—but then you showed up 🤣

Yeah, the Millennium caught me off guard too. I just completely forgot how sugary their treats are 😉

Don't get mad at me, haha, I didn't do anything wrong!!

My dear arrived and won't let me onto the forum 😢
But since I'll be in NYC this Monday, I was thinking about heading over to try some pastries at Millennium, and maybe check out some spots nearby too 😁

[QUOTE

Jason Davis5, have you tried those cream puffs while passing by? They’re actually pretty good. A bit different from what I’m used to, but tasty nonetheless. My only issue is that the menu lists them as a coffee shop rather than a dedicated bakery, so I didn't think to ask if they handle custom cakes or wedding desserts. 😲
"That's exactly why we were planning on heading over to Monica's place to sample her pastries first, just to do a trial run."

I don't have all the specifics, but we actually attended a wedding where they were providing the cake and pastries. I can tell you for certain that the desserts were definitely there. $27It’s all about that texture—you want it thick, creamy, and decadent, especially since we're dealing with a chocolate-based cake. $100It was a smaller wedding, maybe around 50 people...

So, I went to the Millennium on Thursday to "sample" some things with my coworkers... and no, there were zero ulterior motives (okay, maybe I was hunting for wedding cake 😂).

Honestly, I could seriously go insane just tasting their triple chocolate cake all day long 🤣.

See? They’re totally my favorites 👍

I ended up ordering everything from EM... and while maybe some of you didn't care for their pastries, I honestly can't find anything to complain about when it comes to their cakes. When we were finalizing the flavor profiles, they actually provided us with a full tasting spread of all the cakes, so I really can't say they lack professionalism... plus, they went out of their way to accommodate my specific requests regarding the design, since I have some pretty set ideas for how I want the cake to look.

We picked up some treats from Tom and Ann—they taste amazing, look beautiful, and the price is $23/lb.
We tried the cheaper options before, but we’re definitely sticking with these from now on. I've been getting hit up via email with all sorts of offers lately... being part of the middle class, let me tell you, when I saw the quote from Sugar, I'm just glad I stayed put—because $40 was way, way too much for my budget!👎

I think those prices are about what you'd pay at the bakery over by Target

small cookie shop, $27/lb, slices of cake around 10-$$4.00 per piece, free delivery
Orient Bakery, $60/lb
Topolovec Bakery $23/lb

Hey guys, I need some serious help here! Does anyone know where I can pick up some funny wedding cake toppers? I’m looking for something totally ridiculous—you know, like one bride dragging the groom by his hair or something equally wild.
