I just wanted to start by sending my best regards to everyone here..

So, here’s the situation: for about the last two years now, I've been dealing with these recurring chest pains. Things actually hit a breaking point about a year ago, and while the chest discomfort has settled down quite a bit lately, I'm still struggling with pain in my arms and occasionally even my legs. It usually starts with this strange sensation in my arm first, and then the chest pain follows. When my arm acts up, it’s more of a dull, heavy ache, and it seems to be incredibly consistent—it mostly hits around 2:00 PM every single day. I usually just grab some Advil to take the edge off, which helps enough to get me through. To give you a little context on myself, I'm 18 years old, generally in pretty good shape, though I do smoke somewhere between five to ten cigarettes a day.

If anyone has any insight into what might be going on, or if you have a hunch about what this could be, please let me know. Even though the heart-related chest stuff feels much better than it did previously, the constant aching in my arm is honestly driving me a bit crazy...

P.S. I also tend to be a pretty high-strung person, and I've noticed that whenever I get worked up or angry, the pain tends to flare right up again.

Anyway, thanks so much for your help!

Look, if I've been dealing with some kind of pain for two years... man, you need to go see a doctor. It’s not something you can just brush off when you're hurting like that for two hours at a time. Seriously, go talk to a professional. Don't mess around with stuff like this.

You don't just walk up to a doctor and say, "Oh, it's nothing," when you've been hurting like that for hours on end. Seriously, don't play games when it comes to stuff like this.

The thing is, it really only flares up when I get worked up or stressed out...

I actually went in for an EKG and all those other tests, and everyone tells me everything looks perfectly fine. I even went through my military processing about six months ago, and they cleared me without any issues—at least according to their standards.

Same here... honestly, I think it’s just pure nerves 🙂

How long have you been dealing with this? I mean, I get these strange, nagging pains in my hands from time to time, and that chest discomfort—it doesn't usually stick around for very long, if it hits at all... do you find yourself experiencing the same thing?

I wonder, do you happen to be dealing with any spinal issues, perhaps something involving poor posture or some sort of curvature?
I find myself in a remarkably similar predicament to yours, I suppose. I have gone through just about every conceivable medical examination imaginable—testing my heart, my lungs, my spine, and all that other nonsense. Whenever my spine starts acting up, or even just the muscles surrounding it, the pain seems to migrate quite strangely; it radiates into my chest, sometimes settling right around the heart area, and other times landing squarely in the center. It would send me into a complete state of panic, thinking I was actually on the verge of dropping dead 😲 which, quite predictably, only made the physical sensation much more intense. I struggled to catch my breath properly, and then there were those sharp, stabbing sensations and various other discomforts. Of course, the pain would also travel down into my arms, and occasionally even into my legs, accompanied by these awful tingling sensations... it truly is quite dreadful
. If you have already completed those cardiac screenings and if you have even the slightest history of back problems, then these symptoms are most likely stemming from your back, if you take my word for it
. Hang in there! 👋

Honestly, I’d say you’re looking at anxiety; I went through those exact same chest pains myself, and even after running every single test under the sun, everything came back perfectly fine.
Of course, you really ought to go get checked out just to be safe, but my gut feeling is that it's just stress.

For me, the pain starts in my arm and moves upward🙂 toward my heart and chest... and lately, it even shoots up into my throat🙂
I don't even know how to put this into words..
The pain lasts for quite a while... sometimes longer. It’s hit me several times right when I was trying to go to sleep.. It hurts so bad I can barely swallow...
I haven't gone to see any doctors or gotten any tests done because it's calmed down recently... But honestly, I'm pretty sure stress is the main culprit here.🙂
