. It made me wonder why people have such a reputation for being difficult 🙄.

Then this morning, I was stuck waiting at the clinic to get blood work done... the waiting room was packed, and of course, I’m the one standing the whole time after waiting an hour. To make matters worse, it was so stuffy in there, but the older ladies refused to let anyone open the windows because they didn't want to catch a cold or something 🙄.

Next time you're at the front desk, just tell that lady, "Hey, I'm pregnant" right off the bat. 😎 If they don't call you in immediately after that, then you've got every right to be annoyed!
One time, I actually took a Post-it note, wrote "Pregnant" on it, and slapped it right onto my referral paperwork—and lo and behold, they called me in before everyone else.

Honestly, what bugs me is how people think you should just spend the whole day napping 🙂

Hmm, that’s tough. There isn't really any official rule here giving pregnant women priority.🤷

That’s just that classic laid-back coastal attitude for you 🤣🤣🤣
but you eventually get used to it 😉

Anyway, staying on topic, it's really annoying that I've developed varicose veins down there 😳

👍

If any of you ladies are living that unmarried life, you totally get what I’m getting at. All these mindless questions about marriage, weddings, or that fake "concern" over my kid's last name, whether the dad acknowledges them, or how people will judge them for not being born into a "traditional" family (EXCUSE ME??!!). Then comes the unsolicited advice—it’s honestly gross! 😠 😱
Growing up (and thanks to her for that 👍), my mom taught me that you don't just pry into private stuff. If you don't know someone well enough, mind your own business!
But nope, nowadays everyone thinks they have a right to weigh in on absolutely everything and stick their nose where it doesn't belong. It's unbelievable.🤷
I seriously refuse to believe anyone can look "wrongly" at MY CHILD just because we aren't married. wtf?!

edit: I’m starting to have massive respect for single moms. Who knows what kind of nonsense they have to deal with from the neighbors? 😢

Back home in my hometown, the local DMV clearly states in big letters that pregnant women and people with disabilities have priority, so I always make sure to let a pregnant woman go ahead of me in line.

I honestly wonder if they'll ever let me cut the line too.😳

I baked a batch this past Saturday, and I brought a few over to my mom's yesterday. There were maybe two or three left, and I’ve been looking forward to finally sitting down and enjoying them myself, but they're gone. Just completely vanished. 🙂
I guess now I have no choice but to eat ice cream instead. 😢

I feel your pain. Honestly, I know that specific sting when someone eats the very last piece of something you've been looking forward to all day.

In our lab, they actually have separate lines—one for people with disabilities, one for pregnant women, and then everyone else. Though, in practice, it doesn't necessarily mean the pregnant women move faster, since they usually have to wait through about 20 other people being called first anyway.

Ugh, tell me about it—it started happening to me too. 🤷 And honestly? Some people look at me like I’m some teenager with a baby bump. Just for the record, I’m 30 and I definitely don't look like a kid. 😬

I mean, it doesn't bother me *that* much, though... mostly it just makes me want to laugh at how ridiculous they're being. 😁

And besides looking way younger than my actual age—like, significantly younger—I get treated like some sort of "poor little thing" whenever I'm out walking my two-year-old, especially since I'm showing quite a bit. 😁 Then comes the barrage of nosy questions about what we were thinking! 😕
Why is it considered so "abnormal" for people to simply want to have two kids close together in age? 😕

Same here... I constantly have people commenting on me at the grocery store or the gas station...🤷
I mean, I'm not looking for unsolicited advice, but it's weird when you're just trying to live your life.
I was working right up until last week, and usually, when I'm out running errands, I'm dressed professionally. Hahaha.
But clearly, I must look like a total amateur to them, even if I don't feel that way.

Oh, tell me about it.
The other day, someone looked at me like I was some beggar on the street because I'm showing quite a bit and carrying my little one, who is already getting pretty big herself. Some guy was staring at me so blatantly it was uncomfortable. 😲
Total jerk.
Then again, maybe he's just into pregnant women. 😂

Oh honey, we have been through it all.
The best thing is that we've been together for four years now, and we've actually lived together for over two. People were already asking when we were finally going to tie the knot back then, and honestly, it used to bother me.
But now that I'm pregnant, suddenly it's "well, it's really time to get married." 🙂
I truly don't understand what the big deal is.
And as for the legal recognition stuff? They act like we're doing something wrong. They worry the kid will have issues, or that we'll run into legal hurdles during the recognition process. 😂 Then I ask, what kind of issues? And they just 🤷
laugh it off, saying, "Well, who can guarantee a husband is actually the biological father in a marriage?" Nobody. (Most of the time he is, sure, but there are cases where he isn't). 🤣
So, according to them, we're just "unmarried partners"—some lower class of people—and our child is even lower on the totem pole.
What are the actual reasons to get married, I wonder? Just so the neighbors don't gossip? To hell with them. I have nothing against constructive advice or positive examples, but nobody can tell me why we *should* be married... what do we or our child actually gain from it, other than making sure "the neighbors don't judge us"? I couldn't care less about what the neighbors think when they're being this judgmental.

It honestly drives me crazy when people stare at me like I’m some kind of local celebrity. Sure, the truth is that I look a lot younger than my actual age (I'm 29), but even if I were younger, what’s the big deal? It’s not like they’ve never seen a pregnant woman before... Yet, the second you actually need someone to give up a seat for you, suddenly everyone finds something very important to look at on the floor.
+ I am just so incredibly fed up with people who feel entitled to weigh in on my life without even knowing me. They’ll walk up to me in the middle of a grocery store or out on the street and start unloading all this unsolicited advice just because I’m pregnant—as if having been through it once makes them an expert in the field. They have an endless stream of questions and comments, yet they couldn't care less about whether I'll actually have support after the baby arrives. When will people finally realize that someone else's pregnancy and their baby aren't public property?

So, I was at the clinic yesterday seeing my doctor
After finishing up the fetal monitoring, I went to step on the scale and get my blood pressure checked. The nurse told me that as soon as the woman ahead of me finished her appointment, I’d be next.
And I was the only pregnant woman there. Just me.
So, I’m sitting there waiting—my husband was outside having a smoke—when this lady finishes up and just bolts into the office with such sudden intensity that it actually caught me off guard.
I mean, sure, she was closer to the door, but honestly, I didn't even have time to shift an inch before she had practically sprinted past me into the doctor's room.
I just sat there looking kind of 😕
When she finally came out, I started to get up and head toward the doctor's door, only to see her clutching her prenatal records, grinning like an idiot and acting all precious about it, like, "Oh, I'm just so happy to be pregnant!"
Give me a break, you rude woman. 😠 I don't care how happy you are; I've been dealing with this longer than you, so I should have had priority.

Oh man, total nightmare. I just spotted my first stretch marks right on my belly 🙂 😠 specifically down and to the left of my belly button.
I’ve been moisturizing twice a day using some Penaten and Bubchen lotions, though maybe they aren't fatty enough? Honestly, I just hate the feeling of slathering myself in stuff—especially when I already feel gross after using body oil. I'm only 29 weeks along, so if this is how it looks now, I can only imagine what happens by the end of the 🙂
And don't even get me started on my legs and thighs... the stretch marks there are a disaster. If we go to the beach this summer, I'm definitely wearing those knee-length swim shorts!

My mother-in-law really got under my skin today when we brought up what our kid's last name would be. Her whole argument was that it would cause unnecessary confusion and leave the child feeling lost. Honestly, give me a break—I have no intention of raising a confused little kid just because we didn't stick to some outdated tradition. We know what we want, and we're sticking to it.
I mean, look at my neighbor’s three-year-old—that kid is practically a tiny sociologist. Even at three, they already seem to grasp how surnames shift through marriage and why people choose certain names over others. It's not as complicated as the older generation makes it out to be.

Honestly, all those excuses about "not wanting to confuse the kid" or "avoiding complications" are usually just a smokescreen for "what will people think of us..." It’s pretty obvious it isn't actually that hard to grasp why someone has a certain last name, so nobody should be getting confused... plus, the people acting all worried about potential issues haven't even bothered to look into what kind of actual complications could even exist, if any at all 🙄 👎

It really bugs me how much I lack willpower sometimes. I know there's a massive mountain of stuff I need to get done and I just need to buckle down, but I keep putting it off, and the clock is ticking... I'm trying to stay on track with my classes at State University while also keeping a little one at home, and if I don't get my act together right now, I have no idea when I ever will (I'm still just sitting here typing away on this forum 🤦 ) 👎

Hey everyone. I figured I’d jump in here and join the conversation. I'm currently 24 weeks pregnant and just waiting on my first little one to arrive.
There aren't a ton of things getting under my skin, but if I had to pick the biggest annoyances, it would probably be these:
- That classic, unsolicited greeting—"Wow, you're really showing now!"
- My mother-in-law, who honestly wasn't the brightest to begin with, but now every single thing she says just hits a nerve.
- This constant, underlying anxiety about whether everything is actually going to be okay.
- The endless questions about why I can't feel the baby today, or why they're being so active right now.
- My ridiculous boss, who (thanks to a coworker's tip) was making comments about how she used to work in Italy while pregnant without missing a beat, whereas pregnant women in America just run straight to maternity leave.

On a brighter note, though... I have to say, my husband has been such a wonderful surprise. He's basically taken over every single chore in the house. In such a short amount of time, he's actually learned what all those different Clorox wipes, Lysol sprays, and Ajax cleaners are even for. He's even mastered sorting the laundry and running the washer. Honestly, he's gotten pretty thorough with the cleaning—maybe even more than me. So far, anyway.
Sending love to all the other moms out there....

I’ve always preferred those more playful insults—you know, the ones like "hey, you're getting chunky" or "hey, little baby." 🤣
