This might end up being a bit of a long one... if you're easily stressed, feel free to skip...
So, ever since I found out I was pregnant, things have been getting under my skin. But honestly? I am absolutely livid at the doctors. They’ve spent this entire pregnancy spooking me for no reason. I didn't know any better, so I just blindly followed their lead, only to realize I've basically been dealing with a "textbook" pregnancy this whole time without the actual drama they made it out to be.
Look, I'm not saying it's entirely on me—there's way too much noise on the internet—but when you can't go there because your doctor isn't giving you clear or sufficient answers, where else are you supposed to turn?
It drives me crazy how they described something as minor as being "a fingertip's width short" as some absolute catastrophe, forcing me into STRICT bed rest. That’s two months of my life gone, and I'm never getting those days back.
And don't even get me started on the money I wasted on $283 an appointment where the doctor didn't even bother using an ultrasound to check my cervix. No, she just did a manual exam, decided I was "three-quarters of an inch short," and presented it to me with this grim look like I wouldn't even make it to my due date. She sold me a scare tactic, I bought it, and we both spent way too long paralyzed by fear. Did I need that? Hell no! 😳
On top of that, the doctor keeps sending me for endless tests just because of my weight and the fact that the baby is big, so I'm stuck shuffling through hospital corridors and sitting around terrified waiting for results that probably won't change anything.
Everything that's happened over these last seven and a half months just feeds directly into my hypochondria. And frankly, I hate that about myself.
It bugs me that I felt like I knew nothing about pregnancy, that anyone could talk me into believing anything, and most of all, I hate that I can't get back the time I spent living in constant fear...
Thanks for listening.
