Terry Campbell you know what happened to you? those little green men showed up, snatched you away, and now you're carrying a tiny alien who’s going to take over the world once he's born.
I honestly can't wrap my head around people who have nothing better to do with their lives than judge others—like, why on earth does it matter if it's your first child, your fifth, or your tenth?

brightotter14 said:I just got my first negative comment today about how we're waiting for a girl😢 It honestly made me feel so heavy...

Honestly, I can't believe it. (Well, maybe I can, but still... 🙄 )
How are people actually capable of being like that? It’s genuinely unsettling.
Anyone who is waiting on a baby is really just praying that this tiny little thing is okay, that they arrive healthy, and that they have a happy life,
so when I hear nonsense like that—if you'll excuse the language—it makes me want to lose it.🙂 🙂

Did you tell them off?😬

As for me, I'm just crossing my fingers that there's a little girl on the way for me too.😍
Bless you, a little princess is coming your way.😍

I don't get it either—and we're over here being totally stoked 😍

Nah, mostly because I know she wasn't being malicious, she was just "worrying" about whether MM would be unhappy about it.....🙂
And it's obvious to me that some older lady doesn't realize that I wouldn't even grab a coffee with a loser like him, let alone share a bed and a mortgage... but whatever. I hate having to defend myself against stuff like this, and having anyone even suggest our little one could be anything other than loved and wanted!

I'm really crossing my fingers that I have a girl on the way 😍

You bet!! We've already got a mountain of pink outfits ready for the neighborhood's biggest little diva 😍

God, those medieval mindsets... acting like it doesn't count if it isn't a boy... honestly, gross.🤮

We're all actually thrilled we're having a girl... and if I'm being honest, we were secretly hoping for a girl this whole time. Meanwhile, MM keeps going on and on about how happy he is and how great everything is... and how much he loves her... he's already completely head over heels...😍 😍

I still remember when I was pregnant for the first time and some guy decided to drop a total gem of a question on me, asking, "So, what are you having?"
I told him, and he just shrugs and goes, "As long as it's a boy! That's the main thing!" To which I replied, "Well, as long as it's healthy, I think we're good."
But no, he doubles down: "I'm telling you, a boy is what matters most!"
I honestly just sat there thinking that all the machismo in the world isn't going to save him from his own sheer lack of class. 🙂 😠 🙂

brightotter14, don't even worry about it, you hit the nail right on the head. Honestly, I haven't the slightest clue how anyone would navigate life with someone like that either, though I suppose some people just don't care. For us, we have a daughter on the way and, well, we're still playing it by ear, waiting to see what happens today. But my mom keeps telling me she's a girl and she's just over the moon about it, and truthfully, I know he’ll be just as happy if it turns out to be a boy... because, you know, at the end of the day, it isn't all about the numbers. I actually had my mother-in-law tell me one day to stop making assumptions about the gender, saying I was going to let her son down if I acted like I knew for sure when he wasn't—and since he heard her say that, things got a little heated. He ended up being very clear with her, making it plain that there's absolutely no room for that kind of talk in this house. 😉

It’s honestly pathetic to hear statements like that. It makes it seem like we have zero value just because we happen to be women🙄. I don't get it. Pure stupidity...😢🙄🤷

Sigh... I received one of those comments after mentioning it’s a boy, and honestly, it was just exhausting. It’s always the same repetitive cycle—people insisting they would have preferred a girl, or acting as if my preference for girls matters to them. At the end of the day, my only real concern is that the baby is born healthy and strong, which is what truly counts. I simply cannot wrap my head around people who feel the need to broadcast their unsolicited opinions like that; if you’re so dissatisfied with the gender, then by all means, go off and have your own children. Why on earth should they care about the sex of a baby that isn't even theirs? It's as if I'm out here birthing children specifically for their personal approval. So, there you have it—just one more piece of evidence that even when it's a boy, things aren't always perfectly idyllic for everyone involved.

I honestly don’t get why everyone is even bothering with all this nonsense, because I’m really just sitting back to see how certain people react once they hear it’s another girl... and frankly, thank God for that, since ever since my first pregnancy, there have been people who wouldn't even speak to me because they were so obsessed with what I was carrying, at least until I finally lost my temper and decided to stop playing nice, so I highly doubt anyone is going to be brave enough to pry this time around. I am perfectly happy knowing I'll have two daughters, just as much as if I had sons or a mix or whatever else life throws at me, as long as the baby is born healthy and strong... as for everyone else, who cares? 😍😍😍😍

It isn’t that I’m getting worked up, brightorca46, it’s just that I find myself utterly baffled by people—truly, why is there such a pervasive desire to inflict pain on others?
At the end of the day, my only concern is that he’s safe and sound; after everything I’ve spent my time waiting for, that is quite literally the only thing that matters to me...
And honestly, who cares about the rest? It doesn't matter what else happens,
I simply cannot fathom how some people can be so incredibly thoughtless.

Because they're clueless?! Don't sweat it—everyone around me was rooting for a girl too (which is probably what it is), mostly because the first one looks like a little boy. I just told them straight up that I don't have babies on demand, and that shut them up pretty quick.

Honestly, I think I’m mostly just surprising myself right now—mostly with how weirdly I’ve been reacting to everything.
I’ve had cats my entire life, and until the moment I found out I was pregnant, everything was perfectly fine; but now? I’m actually scared of them. I’m even scared to look at my Gold 😢
My mind keeps spinning these ridiculous, worst-case scenarios, and I’m just terrified of everything. I can't figure out what’s okay to worry about and what isn't—my head is constantly spinning from all the pregnancy articles and endless internet advice I've been consuming.
I feel like such a stranger to myself right now.

We decided to keep the gender a surprise this time (which means I have to stay strong before every single ultrasound), but people just won't stop asking. I constantly get these looks like, "How can you not want to know?" or my personal favorite: "I already know you're having a boy!"

It honestly gets under my skin when people without kids act like it’s some kind of hilarious joke to listen to me talk about how much I love mine...
Look, if you don't like kids, that's fine—you don't have any, so why should I care?
I'm not exactly standing here preaching to you about how much I adore my children,
but could you please just stop lecturing me on how kids are nothing but noisy, messy, and disgusting little creatures?

Seriously... 🙄

We actually know the gender and wanted to find out, but I was floored by the doctor at the Mayo Clinic during our last scan. He just blurted out, "So, did they tell you it's a girl yet?" Honestly, I can only imagine how infuriating it would be if you had to deal with a doctor like that.😉

My whole family is driving me absolutely insane. They are all obsessively breathing down my neck, demanding to know what we’re naming the baby. I’ve already told them multiple times: we aren't saying a word until we’re closer to the end of the pregnancy and have made a final call. Honestly, we’ve had the names picked out for ages, but I think there's a certain satisfaction in letting them squirm in suspense just a little longer. 😍

I am in the exact same boat. Everyone keeps pestering me about the name, and I just keep telling them we haven't decided yet... I mean, why does it matter before the baby is actually here? 🤷 I am certainly not going to tell them. 😍 We will announce it once the baby arrives. Period. ☕

It also really gets on my nerves when the older ladies start commenting: "Oh my goodness, look how big your belly is! Do you still have a month to go?"
In reality, I am carrying most of my weight right in my stomach; everywhere else is just slightly wider, if at all. Usually, I am very thin...
I suppose they just want to enjoy the fact that I’ve finally put on some weight, especially since it shows a bit in my hips. 😍

So, I usually give them a polite reality check, especially the ones who are a bit heavy themselves: It's much better to have a big belly than a big backside. 😁

It’s the same thing every single time—everyone is dying to know what we’re naming our little girl. They act totally stunned when I tell them we’re keeping it a secret until she actually arrives. It’ll be the same story next time, too. What if we name her... Amy.

Then there are those moments when women just start unloading incredibly private details without me even asking—things like lactation or postpartum bleeding...

And I have to mention how people feel the need to tell me about some woman who lost her baby during a specific week or something. I usually cut them off right then and politely let them know I’d rather not hear those kinds of stories.

But honestly, the thing that gets under my skin more than anything else is being asked, "So, what are you going to do about the dogs?" We have three little girls who are full-fledged family members—they're sweet, calm, and a huge part of our lives. I don't get what people expect, that we'll just toss them out on the street because a baby is coming? If anything, this baby is going to be the healthiest, happiest kid ever with three little protectors and best friends by her side...

Does it ever just drive you crazy when you mention you’re feeling under the weather, only to have everyone immediately jump in to claim they’re in even more pain than you are?

The only thing getting on my nerves right now is how nobody seems happy when I tell them I'm doing well. If I say I'm good or—heaven forbid—great, everyone just gives me this disappointed look. Like, wtf?
