Please 😲

They're being so obvious

For me, the absolute worst part was the constant writing!!! 🤣
It was happening every five minutes.
But the breaking point was this one waitress I ran into while I was walking downtown. I asked her if she could help me out with the same thing, and she basically just brushed me off, telling me to go across the street to the train station to handle my business there.🤣😠

I mean, why does it matter before the baby is actually here? 🤷 I am certainly not going to tell them. 😍 We will announce it once the baby arrives. Period. ☕

It also really gets on my nerves when the older ladies start commenting: "Oh my goodness, look how big your belly is! Do you still have a month to go?"
In reality, I am carrying most of my weight right in my stomach; everywhere else is just slightly wider, if at all. Usually, I am very thin...
I suppose they just want to enjoy the fact that I’ve finally put on some weight, especially since it shows a bit in my hips. 😍

So, I usually give them a polite reality check, especially the ones who are a bit heavy themselves: It's much better to have a big belly than a big backside. 😁

Amy 🤣🤣
I am definitely keeping this in my back pocket for whenever some jerk decides to make a comment like that to me. 😁

By the way, this is actually my very first post on the Pregnancy forums—kind of weird that it’s landing on this specific thread 😬, but whatever, here we are. I'm currently 16 weeks along, so sending love to all you fellow expectant moms 😍 out there!

Oh, I know that feeling all too well. My mother-in-law does that exact same thing to me on a regular basis. 🙂
I’ve actually started avoiding her lately. 😍

I am quite certain that Patlikit would be an excellent addition to our group. I remember once visiting a similar establishment during a trip to Chicago, and the atmosphere was simply delightful. It really is worth considering. kaže:
Oh boy! 🤣🤣
I'll be sure to keep this in my back pocket for whenever someone decides to get nasty and throw that same comment my way.😁

By the way, this is my very first post on these pregnancy forums. It feels a bit strange that I ended up landing right on this specific thread to start things off. 😬Anyway, moving right along—I am officially sixteen weeks along now! Sending big hugs to everyone. suTo all our expectant mothers out there! 😍

Welcome to the group! 😉

Well, we actually made the mistake of sharing some names, and now we've got everyone breathing down our necks because they don't "like" them... total idiots. 🙄
Both my parents and his...
As if their opinions are going to change my mind, all they're doing is getting on my nerves.
+ Truth be told, we already found out if it's a girl or a boy,
but we aren't telling a soul now, purely because they were being obnoxious about the names.
Let them wonder. 😛

It’s the exact same story here, though the older generation was more accepting... but everyone else? It’s always "what kind of name is that," "poor child," and endless whining.
One friend of mine, who usually avoids having kids because she finds the whole ordeal too exhausting, 🙄 actually offered to draft a list of names for us, thinking it might help 🤦—it was quite a reaction when we told her that.
I don't understand this obsession with commenting on everything. I wasted so much time trying to justify myself to them like a fool... Now, I simply tell them that yes, that is the name, and so what?

I’m just going to... whatever, I’ll deal with the names... my parents already went through this whole thing where they wanted a name that didn't need a last name attached to it... you know, like how some kids end up being called Madonna or Britney or Cassandra... blah blah blah. It wasn't even that extreme, honestly, but even if it was... who cares? Anyway, my little girl is actually going to be named after my dear friend... but now that my parents have finally stopped their nagging, my cousin has decided to jump in. She’s one of those people who acts way more "devout" than anyone else—like she's trying to outdo the Pope or something. She started lecturing me about what kind of name this is, saying there has to be a specific reason why you choose a certain name... and that I really need to think about it more. Then she goes on about how Jewish traditions involved giving meaningful names where every name had its own numerical value... I honestly felt like telling her I’d just consult a tarot reader instead to see if the name is "good" or not... I just hate that kind of condescending attitude. And I hadn't even eaten breakfast yet... she kept me stuck on the phone for 57 minutes...
God, please save me from the fools...

It seriously drives me insane when people start interrogating me about why I didn't wait for a permanent job or why on earth I decided to get pregnant while I'm between gigs. I’ve caught myself actually trying to justify my life choices more times than I care to admit, but honestly, I'm done with that... It took me a minute to realize how incredibly rude it is to dig that deep into someone else's private business, like, why do you even care about my timing?!? Because it happened when it happened, okay! That's why! Ugh...

Reading through these threads just makes my skin crawl with all these mindless jabs and people who clearly have zero manners. And no, it's not because I'm being overly sensitive 🙂

Oh man... it was the exact same thing for me!

Literally EVERYONE started with the same script: "So what's the plan?" ... "Are you even eligible for benefits?" ... "What happens to your career?" (I had a contract job, plus some freelance stuff on the side)... honestly, people, mind your own business... unless you're planning on paying my bills... which you AREN'T, so just fck off. 🙂🙂

Finally managed a genuine laugh today after two long months... I’m three months pregnant and the morning sickness has been absolutely brutal. It’s easing up a tiny bit, but we aren't exactly out of the woods yet. Honestly, I thought I was losing my mind—turns out this madness is just standard procedure during pregnancy... and apparently, it's also perfectly "normal" to want to punch anyone in the teeth who tries to offer me unsolicited advice about how "everything is fine." 🙂

Man, you ladies really cracked me up...🤣

People are just wired this way and they aren't going to change--period..

I'm currently pregnant with my third, so I've been doing a deep dive into all the crap online...

I don't even bother snapping back at them anymore; instead, I just drop some "smart" remark and while they're standing there with their mouths hanging open 😕, I just breeze out of there 😉

We decided on a third because we wanted three kids total—gender didn't matter to us or anything...

Our second girl was a real struggle—spent a month in the NICU, terrible prognosis, three years of constant doctor visits and therapies... but if you saw her now, she’s a little powerhouse...😍
My husband used to drive to the hospital every single day—and I mean every day—to visit the 4th floor neonatal unit (back when they had the old maternity ward in Chicago), just staring through the glass for his allotted thirty minutes...

And then you get these old-school busybodies coming around acting like they're experts, saying stuff like, "Don't worry, the third one will be a boy," and my husband just bolts out of the house. Later he told me he can't deal with those crazy women anymore and he's about ready to lose it on them

Anyway, I could go on forever... the point is, God gave you two ears for a reason—one to let it in and the other to let it right back out...

It’s not just irritating; it’s actually hard to wrap my head around why people feel this constant need to share horror stories about someone they know—whether it’s a miscarriage at a certain month or a stillbirth. It’s funny how it works: back when I was in my second trimester, the stories were always about losses in the 20-22 week range. Now that I’m in my third trimester, you can bet all the talk is about losses at 31 weeks. Honestly, it's mindless. And it isn't even coming from bitter or jealous people; it’s more like everyone has collectively lost their grip on social awareness. I don't get the impulse. I try to cut them off immediately, but sometimes you hear the topic coming before you can even react, and that fear just sticks in your brain...

On top of that, there are the older women in the family and social circles who seem to use other people's pregnancies to relive their own. Unlike my friends or other pregnant women I know—people I can actually talk to about what I'm going through—these older relatives don't seem interested in listening at all. They’ll ask a perfunctory question, and the moment you start opening up, they pivot to: "Well, when I was pregnant..." and then they just keep going. It’s exhausting. It feels like they're trying to compete with you in the only arena they think they still have control over.

Since I’ve been spending quite a bit of time lurking on the forums lately—mostly hanging out in the Parenting and Pregnancy sections
—I’ve noticed something that’s really starting to get under my skin. It’s these parents and expectant mothers who seem to have no interest in offering a helping hand, or worse, those who just exist to nitpick and criticize everyone else.
If you don't actually have anything constructive or helpful to contribute to the conversation, why not just hold back on the unnecessary negativity?
It’s especially hard to watch when it’s directed at new moms or women who are pregnant; they’re already dealing with enough hormonal chaos without some stranger deciding to be unnecessarily cruel.
Honestly, it's just exhausting.

Not sure if I’ve already ranted about this—maybe I’m just repeating myself 🤔

Honestly, what happened with nobody giving a damn about pregnant women is driving me insane. A few weeks back, some guy actually had the nerve to cut in front of me at the checkout. Then I ended up stuck waiting for 10 minutes because he was buying one single pack of printer paper using a corporate account—and of course, he didn't have the tax ID ready, and the cashier couldn't even spell his company name right 🙄 meanwhile, I’m standing there sweating my ass off in this stifling heat, barely able to stay upright. It’s just straight-up unfair.
And don't even get me started on the OB-GYNs and hospitals. You show up and you're guaranteed at least a 30-minute wait, as if sitting around isn't the last thing we want to be doing.

Nausea, vomiting, then more nausea. 🙂
Ever since that puncture, I’ve been feeling like a total zombie,
and I used to be so high-energy... 🙂

Now it’s just more nausea. 🙂

James Nguyen5, seriously—you can't tell me that nausea and fatigue caught you off guard during pregnancy 🤣 I mean, I totally saw both of them coming!

Not me.
If they happen, fine, but I didn't expect them to hit this hard.
Feels worse than after my period. Dammit.

But the MP3 thing is just annoying...

Honestly, out of all the symptoms I’m dealing with, the discharge is what’s actually killing me—it just gets more intense as the pregnancy goes on. It's not even about having to swap out pads constantly, though I have no clue how many I'm going through in a day—it's the constant, nagging paranoia that my water is actually breaking 🙂

Honestly, the leaking is just wearing me out... especially when I laugh or cough and it catches me off guard 🙂... if I’m out running errands, I end up feeling damp, which is something I absolutely can't stand 🙂
Since I don't use daily liners, I find myself changing my underwear about four times a day. It doesn't happen every single day, though, so I guess I manage okay.

Someone told me to try Jess pads—the plastic-free daily ones—and honestly, they’re 👍. I’ve been using them throughout my entire pregnancy and haven't dealt with a single yeast infection or any bacterial issues. Seriously, highly recommend. I can't be swapping out four pairs of underwear a day.

I don't really use liners myself... plus, I have plenty of underwear, so I've never really run out.😁
