My little guy is right here with me, lounging on the couch, and I just can't help but give him a kiss on the head 😁

Everyone looks at me like I'm crazy, but honestly, what am I supposed to do? He’s my indoor dog—he's clean, well-groomed, up to date on all his shots, and he gets nothing but love and the best care possible.

I kiss mine too—and he kisses me right back on the beard. 😬 My nephew gets it since we share the same breed; he told me—and I quote—"If you live with animals, a child needs to grow up knowing how to coexist with them." 😍

Justin Baker3 said:Here’s a fresh example from yesterday: I was standing in line at Target, and there was nobody behind me, just two women ahead of me finishing up their checkout. Suddenly, this woman just smoothly slides right between me and them, acting like she’s next in line.

Honestly, I had to fight the urge to lose my cool completely. First off, I was clearly the only one waiting in line. Secondly, you can't exactly mistake me for being pregnant—I have a bump. I just don't understand people who blatantly pretend they're blind. I also don't get the cashier, who saw I was pregnant and couldn't even find the nerve to tell that lady to back off and let me go first.

I swear, once I actually have this baby, I’m going to be pushing that stroller right through anyone in my way. My patience for this stuff is officially gone.

I usually just bite my tongue, though sometimes I end up acting like a drunk cowboy, venting everything I'm feeling and storming out of the store in a total revolt... Fortunately, those outbursts are rare, because if I let it out, I start acting like a complete maniac 😬
But I know exactly how you felt. I had a similar situation during some late-night shopping at the DMV, where I was stuck in a half-hour wait, and this woman just pushes her way through the line, and then, when it finally becomes her turn, she starts scurrying all over the place looking for some specific juice. What a piece of work.
My head was spinning... I was losing my mind at both her and the clerk, but I stayed quiet because there were a billion people in line, and I figured if everyone else thinks this behavior is acceptable, then fine, whatever...
Though, looking back, I almost regret keeping all those cheerful thoughts and lovely adjectives to myself.
Some people are just genuinely mean. There isn't any other way to explain it.

Even before we started talking about babies, people were asking us what we’d do with our piglet once a baby eventually arrives. 🙄
I just told them—well, more hands to snuggle her, I suppose. 😍

I’m feeling a bit scattered right now, honestly... I'm just waiting for my first ultrasound and hoping everything is fine, especially since I've been dealing with 24/7 nausea and clutching a seashell for comfort. I am exhausted—just completely drained—and the insomnia is hitting hard; even when I finally drift off, I end up tossing and turning all night. Plus, I can't help worrying about what the doctor might say this Tuesday. I guess today is just one of those days where everything feels a bit much and my nerves are totally shot. 🙂

au pixie, you're totally wrong about the vomiting part😢

I haven't stopped since my 6th week. But hey, if it works for you, go for it—I've seen several OB-GYNs, and plenty of them during these last 3 months 🤣 told me that morning sickness is actually just a sign that everything is progressing normally 😍

Honestly, I felt so terrible that I actually ended up in the ER getting an IV drip, but the baby is doing fine and it's all something you can push through

mistyridge5, I truly want to believe that’s the case—really, I do. It would certainly make dealing with all of this a bit more manageable, I suppose. Up until yesterday, even the simplest things, like a good batch of apples, seemed to make sense, but I guess that's not working anymore. Even my go-to comfort foods—you know, those warm bowls of soup that always used to save me—just aren't doing the trick.

Even this morning, the little piglet was throwing up again. My neighbor, MM, actually had the nerve to say—and I'm not kidding—that it's just out of solidarity. 😂

Trust me, it’s actually a sign that everything is going exactly as it should. I never quite understood that theory myself, though, because what about all those other pregnant women who don't deal with nausea at all? Every OB-GYN I've ever talked to has told me the same thing—morning sickness is basically just a sign of a healthy pregnancy. 😍

They usually say it starts tapering off after the first trimester, around week 12, but I’m already at week 13 and I’m still feeling it

I’m really hoping it lets up soon...

mistyridge5, I really hope you can get some rest soon—because I ZNAAAAAM how incredibly draining and exhausting that kind of thing can be. 🙂

I’ve had dogs my entire life, and the thought of just ignoring one simply because I’m pregnant never even crosses my mind. Honestly, I actually know a woman right now who is giving her dog away because she found out she’s expecting—she’s convinced having a pet around is too risky for the baby...🙂🙂🙂

Cigarette, just because you're dealing with morning sickness doesn't mean it's the only way to know things are going right—pregnancy can be perfectly healthy without all that nausea. I’m actually 14 weeks along myself, and honestly, I haven't thrown up once. I had a tiny bit of queasiness, but it was barely noticeable and passed so quickly... and my baby is doing absolutely wonderful and hitting every milestone perfectly. I’ve noticed you mentioning a few times that nausea is like a built-in formula for a healthy pregnancy, but I really believe your little one is doing just fine too...🙂🙂I’m actually writing this specifically for all those women out there who aren't experiencing any morning sickness—because trust me, plenty of you aren't. I know how much it can weigh on you, and I see so many moms-to-be feeling this intense anxiety or worrying that something might be wrong just because they don't feel nauseous... It’s so easy to spiral into those fears about the pregnancy when your experience doesn't match what everyone else is talking about, but please know that not feeling sick doesn't mean anything is amiss...☕

😲 Poor animal... so what, is she planning on raising this kid under a literal glass bell jar?

We have a dog too. Sleeps in the bed with us, everything... and the idea of getting rid of them doesn't even occur to me. It honestly irritates me when people ask, "Oh, so what are you going to do with the dog now?" or "Where are you going to keep it?"... as if it's some kind of burden. 🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂

edit: Just caught the previous post. Just to be clear, I didn't take that comment personally—there's nothing wrong with my pregnancy just because I haven't been sick. She was simply relaying what her OB-GYN told her about what typically happens to women dealing with morning sickness. It doesn't mean—and she never explicitly stated—that women who aren't vomiting are somehow having an unhealthy pregnancy...

Of course she didn't say that not vomiting means something is wrong🙂 I just wanted to emphasize that if someone isn't experiencing nausea and vomiting, that is perfectly fine too. I'm speaking from my own experience, because during those first few weeks, I was actually worried because I wasn't feeling sick, especially after reading all these stories about how everyone else was dealing with morning sickness. I even reached out to a girl on this forum just to find some comfort and make sure it was okay. Now that things have settled down and the baby is doing great, I felt the need to mention this for any other women out there who might be worrying the same way I was about a month ago...😉

I didn't spend my whole pregnancy obsessing over every little symptom, so I guess that's why I'm processing this all so differently... 🤷 Besides, I know plenty of women who had perfectly healthy babies without ever dealing with a single bout of morning sickness.

It’s honestly so annoying—I’ve come down with this stupid case of chickenpox and the itching is driving me absolutely crazy.🙂🙂🙂

On a different note, about pets—specifically dogs. I have two, and there is seriously nothing better than when my son wakes up in the morning and 😁his pups immediately rush him with all that love.
I wouldn't trade them for anything in the world.

As for that woman claiming she needs a dog just because she's pregnant... oh boy, I could go on forever, it's just ridiculous.😁 I feel like I've heard every kind of nonsense under the sun. Now, my policy is simple: if someone asks me something that stupid, my response is basically just "drop them off a nine-story building and call it a day."

What’s the big deal with dogs? Honestly, our little guy is staying right here with us—he’s actually passed out on my lap right now 😍 and after I give him some head scratches, he just gives me a quick lick on the ear, so what? 😁
Besides, I can't wait for the baby to arrive so they can start licking those tiny feet. 😍
Plus, it's a proven fact that kids raised around pets end up with stronger immune systems and fewer allergies anyway. 😁 😁
p.s. I'm currently trying to talk my parents into adopting a dog too, so once the baby comes, we'll have two little fluffballs running around. 😁

I second this—in bold. People always ask me, "But what about the hair?" Honestly... please. My husband and I have been eating hair since we were toddlers—our parents always had pets in the house. 🙂

Look, I’m already vacuuming once or twice a day—it only takes me five minutes—so I really don't see what the big deal is... 😉
I honestly think I can dodge this question from everyone except one person—my family is basically obsessed with pets 😁

I have a cat, and honestly—after listening to everyone’s horror stories—I have to admit I hit a total panic button. I felt completely lost 🙂 during those first few weeks of pregnancy.
But then, I finally pulled myself together. 🙂 I've had cats my entire life; my current girl has been with me for four years now. She’s mostly an indoor cat, though she gets to stretch her legs outside occasionally. My husband handles all the litter box duties, and she has her own little blankets to nap on. Plus, we make sure to wash our hands immediately after any petting sessions. I’ve already had toxoplasmosis in the past, so that’s one less thing to worry about. For now, she has free rein of the house, but once the baby arrives, things will change—she’s incredibly curious and prone to jealousy, and I’m worried she might scratch or nip at the newborn (and yes, let’s be real, my cat bites more than she scratches—it's just how she is, folks 😁).
The thing is, I’m fully aware of the risks, which is why it drives me crazy when people suggest I won't be allowed to have a cat in my apartment once I give birth. As if! Someone who has never even owned a cat doesn't get to tell me how I’ll manage my own pet 🙂:
jadejackal stays in the apartment, period. Her access will just be limited so she can't enter the bedroom or the living room, and that's that.

I'm with you on this. I have a dog (and I used to have a cat that unfortunately passed away), but people kept harping on me about how I shouldn't even look at the animal, let alone walk it or pet it 🤷 It's nonsense!! I'm not an idiot; I know pet dander can be an issue (especially if the animal is coming in from outside), but in my opinion, the germs in a crowded shopping mall are far more dangerous than any pet 😁
My mother-in-law has a dog in her house. In the beginning, she wasn't allowed near the baby, but now (with the baby being 6 months old) I let them meet (without the licking and excessive petting 😁 for now)

Jerry Bailey47 said:If it helps, I am in the exact same boat. My best friend has a ten-month-old boy—same gender, too—and she gave birth around the same time of year as I am. She hasn't offered a single thing. What makes it worse is that she's a single mom, and her dad used to give the kid plenty of $33 for ice cream all the time. 🙄 The absolute peak of absurdity happened yesterday when we were driving to Trieste; she tells me mid-trip not to bother buying a high chair because she'll sell me hers for half price. 🙄

My friend was being sweet and offered me everything she could use, even though my baby is a different gender and about six months younger than hers... 😍 That included the breast pump, which luckily I didn't buy since none of it actually worked out anyway... 🤷 😂
