Sigh, honestly, nobody even lets me cut ahead in line anymore now that my baby bump is clearly showing. People can be so incredibly rude 😠

I’m not trying to suggest that being pregnant is some kind of illness—thank God I haven't dealt with any major complications or issues—but it really is quite difficult for me to stand still for long periods in cramped, stuffy places crowded with people. There have been quite a few times where I felt like I was actually going to collapse. 🙂

I totally agree—especially at places like Chase or those DMV waiting rooms. It’s always sweltering in there, just breathing in stagnant air. You’re basically begging to pick up every virus passing through. Gross. 🤮

Oh, absolutely. I’ve actually spent quite a bit of time visiting places like that over the last month, sometimes even more than once. Since I recently got married, I had to go through the whole process of updating my legal documents and everything else, and I honestly thought the stress of it would drive me crazy. Then, when I finally get to the front of the line, some overly helpful clerk looks at me and says, "Oh, you're pregnant, you shouldn't have been waiting in line." Well, wouldn't you know it—should I have known? 🙂

Jerry Bailey47 said:The only thing that actually got under my skin was the passport fee, $132, I mean—are these people out of their minds???? 😲

No, those prices are definitely not normal 🙂
As for me, I can't stand waiting. I just unzipped my jacket and headed out. You should see how big my bus is, so maybe it's only a 10-15 minute wait at most.

Seriously, I don't get why some people just refuse to wash 🙂
The other day I walked into a T-Mobile and nearly gagged from the stench of body odor... then I hit up a Whole Foods and it was the same story—just pure unwashed funk everywhere.🙂
Maybe it’s just me being extra sensitive to smells lately, but it's getting ridiculous.🤣🤣

Honestly, the way people have been acting lately has my blood pressure through the roof, especially those married types with kids. I barely even muttered that I was pregnant—and that’s only because I absolutely had to (not counting my inner circle or close friends, obviously). To me, this is a private matter between me and my partner, but suddenly everyone starts jumping down my throat like it's some kind of public announcement 🙄 The worst part? All these women who didn't even give me a second glance before—because I wasn't part of the "mom squad"—suddenly started coming up to say hi. 😬 It was incredibly disappointing. It turns out none of what you've actually accomplished in life matters, and it doesn't matter who you are as a person; apparently, your entire "value" is suddenly validated just because you're bringing a kid into the world. 😲

I knew this was a thing, sure, but I never realized just how blatant it was until I felt it hitting me personally.

Then come the endless, unsolicited recommendations and advice from "expert" moms and trendy pregnant ladies, completely unprovoked 🙂

And yeah, if I kept going, I could probably list a dozen more gems like that...

It’s the same deal with my mother-in-law. Before I got pregnant, we could basically butt heads whenever we wanted. 🤮
Now she’s constantly hovering over me, and honestly, she irritates me even more than before. 🙂
Part of me wants to tell her, "Look, it's just the two of us now," but I feel bad since it's my husband's mom... man, people can be so difficult. I guess the best move is to just listen to neither of them and ignore it! 🙂

As for all that "advice," I probably shouldn't even go there. 🙂

I've never been a touchy-feely person and I hate people invading my bubble, but somehow this belly has its own magnetic field for random hands. Like, hellooo, I don't go around grabbing people's junk or touching anyone else's body!!!
Oh, and also loving all the acquaintances who have no clue I'm pregnant but still feel the need to comment on how much weight I've put on this winter and how I must've stopped watching what I eat. So polite, truly...

It didn't exactly set me off, but I have to get this off my chest; a coworker made a comment about how she can't wait to see my "little and chubby" kid. I’m actually quite petite, and I usually shop in the toddler section, so I guess they assume I'll be spending all my time at Target instead.🙄

Every night, I’m over here scratching at my chest and stomach like some frantic little monkey. My breasts have definitely gone up a size, and I swear the skin feels thinner—maybe it's just my imagination, but now I find myself obsessively checking my circulation. Even the slightest scratch leaves these tiny bruises behind. My nipples are already a mess, and my stomach is just starting its upward climb. I slather on oil like a piglet, but five minutes later, it’s like I never even applied it. At this rate, I might as well just sleep in a bathtub full of oil. 😢

My due date is just three weeks away, and if it helps anyone else feel better—I can count on one hand the number of people who actually offered me a seat on the subway or let me cut ahead in line during this entire pregnancy.

I’ve spent most of this time shoving my way through crowds and fighting for my space like some sort of relentless, unfeeling Terminator. 🥳

I was just a day and a half away from giving birth when I found myself standing in line at the local VA hospital. It wasn't that anyone pushed past me or anything, but honestly, nobody went out of their way to let me through either. I ended up having to ask a security guard if there was any way I could get a chair, because it seemed like absolutely no one even thought to get up from those lounge chairs to make room. It was pretty unsettling, I guess.
The worst part, though, had to be the women in their 50s and 60s. You’d think they’d have more empathy, since they're basically grandmothers to everyone else's little ones...

Sorry to ask, but does it actually say pregnant women get priority?
If it's written down, then fine, let's go for it. I mean, if someone can wave a disability card while standing better than I can, then I guess I can wave my pregnancy status too. Believe me, I'm not ashamed. 🙂

Of course it doesn't say that... nowhere. Not anymore. It's basically just limited to hospitals now. These days, it's really just stickers—only people with disabilities get priority.

My bad then, I guess. 😁But around here, you see it everywhere—banks, retail stores, the police, everywhere.🤷

At the Department of Justice office in Seattle, they actually have "INVALIDS AND PREGNANT WOMEN HAVE PRIORITY" printed in all caps in four different spots. 🙂 I was out running errands the other day—finally.

Well, at the Department of Justice headquarters in Washington, D.C., that isn't the case. It just says DISABLED CITIZENS HAVE PRIORITY. I checked myself about two months ago...

Gisela As I've said before:
I’ve never been a touchy-feely person, and I absolutely loathe anyone invading my personal space. But honestly? It feels like this guy’s stomach has some kind of magnetic pull for other people's hands. I mean, hello?! I don't go around pawing at anyone's chest or touching a single inch of anyone else's body!
Oh, great. I also love it when acquaintances—who have absolutely no clue that I’m pregnant—feel the sudden, burning need to comment on how much weight I’ve put on this winter. Apparently, they think I just stopped watching what I eat. How polite of them. Honestly, where is the decency?

That same thing absolutely drove me insane during my first pregnancy. It didn't matter if it was someone I knew or a total stranger—it felt like they were all just hovering, waiting for a chance to dart across the street just to grab at my stomach. It was maddening. I complained about it so much after that experience that by the time this pregnancy rolled around, I made sure everyone understood the boundaries. Now, people give my belly a wide berth out of pure respect. Nobody dares to touch.😁
I am honestly fed up with how everyone is reacting to my child now that I’m pregnant. People are being far too comfortable and intrusive, badgering my kid with endless, mindless questions. Seriously, what is wrong with people? They look at my stomach and ask things like, "What's in there? A basketball?" It's relentless, and frankly, it's exhausting.
So, what’s the plan? Are you actually going to have a brother or a sister, or what?
You have to look out for your mother and lend her a hand...
Every psychologist thinks they’re some kind of authority, but what about the poor guy stuck dealing with this mess? I face these exact same questions ten times a day. And the worst part? It’s usually from people I barely even know—just acquaintances passing by. Honestly, why do people have such an insatiable need to just talk? I truly don't get it.🤷

Fair point—but honestly, I think it's more a matter of basic etiquette than what some sign says. I work at JPMorgan Chase, and we don't have anything posted either; however, if I see a pregnant woman waiting in line, I'll call her up first—provided I have the green light from management, of course. It's not exactly rocket science.

At the Department of Homeland Security on Petrinjska, they have signs saying people with disabilities and pregnant women get priority—in several different spots, too. I actually checked this out about three weeks ago when I was heading in to pick up my ID. I was through and done in maybe five minutes... 🙂

God, my sister is pregnant and honestly, I am basically interrogating her every single day about whether they’ve finally picked a name yet, and I’m just constantly hovering, waiting for any tiny excuse to go grab that belly... I keep teasing her and calling her huge because she looks so ridiculously cute with that little bump out in front of her... but really, it’s just because I am freaking out with excitement and I seriously cannot wait to meet this tiny little human...
I really need to chill before I drive everyone crazy 😁
