We have one little girl, and now I’m pregnant again, just waiting on 😍
And whenever people ask what I'm carrying, I tell them happily—a little girl 😍
But they just look at me with all this pity and sympathy, saying, "Oh, you'll probably go for a third one soon..."

Yeah, right, because apparently every woman's sole purpose in life is to produce a son. Are daughters not even worth mentioning? I honestly thought we had moved past those kinds of outdated mindsets long ago. Clearly, I was mistaken... 😢

People laugh at me because I'm having a boy... even though they know I spent my whole life hoping for a girl. Then my friends go, "Oh wow, so what now?!"... I don't hold it against anyone, though. People just don't always know what to say, so they end up saying something stupid.

Where would I go by myself? I can't just wander around town—it's not like I have wings, right?
And don't even get me started on cleaning, or 😳

Arthur Newman77 said:🤣 Honestly, most of us are probably looking at the same mess right before the deadline hits

Exactly... and I suspect none of those people acting so "wise" would actually volunteer to come over and handle the cleaning, the cooking, or the laundry for me 🙂

I know your blood pressure was hitting 160, but honestly, I can’t stop laughing at this.
It totally takes me back to something that happened just two weeks ago. I dropped by my aunt's place, and her mother-in-law immediately starts hovering on the balcony—just watching everything. She begins grilling me about all sorts of things, and then she drops this: "So, you're carrying a boy, huh? Well, usually boys make women look more beautiful, but I wouldn't say that applies to you." First, I was just stunned—completely speechless—and then I just lost it and started cracking up. 😂

..unbelievableeeeeeee 😵

It honestly bugs me how everyone acts so shocked that I’m still working away in my 29th week, or that I’m even driving around... like, uh, how much longer am I supposed to just sit still? 🙂
It’s like they think I’m totally incapacitated just because I’m pregnant!
There isn't a single day where someone doesn't make a comment, instead of just being happy that the baby is healthy and I'm doing well, and that I actually enjoy what I do at work! 🙂 🙂

I’ve actually heard the same thing regarding driving while pregnant, too—like, I've seen people getting really worked up and judging those close to me who were still behind the wheel during their third trimester. Honestly, I’m just not really sure how to feel about all the drama surrounding it, to be honest.🤷

Hey ladies, if you’ve got a license—why wouldn't you get behind the wheel?

If only it were that easy for me... 🙂

Well, that’s because most people jump straight to assuming there’s going to be some major complication, so seeing a pregnant woman actually being productive feels out of the ordinary to them. That's all it is.

I drive perfectly normally. 🤷 If I absolutely had to be rushed to the ER—which, let's face it, happens—then so be it. 😂

I drove myself to the hospital alone. 😬

Ontopic: I’m usually an absolute wreck—constantly on edge and high-strung—but pregnancy was different; I felt completely unshakable.

👍

Every time I mention which hospital I'm using for delivery, people start rolling their eyes because of the whole "rooming-in" thing. I don't get why everyone assumes we all feel the same way about having the baby in the room with us constantly—personally, I actually see some perks there—and honestly, why does it even matter where I choose to give birth? It's my life, and I've got the right to have my own experience, whatever that ends up looking like. If God wills it, maybe it'll even be a good one.

I honestly don't get why some people just feel the need to stick their noses into everything. I met this girl recently who had her baby at Mayo Clinic, and the second she heard I was heading there too, she started lecturing me—even though I didn't ask for a single bit of advice—about how "rooming-in" is totally gross and how there's no point being attached to the kid 24/7 since I'll be seeing them for the rest of my life anyway... Like, seriously? What am I even supposed to say to that? I just laughed, because honestly, what else is there to 🤷

It’s like you’re reading my mind. I’ve been totally chill through this entire pregnancy too, which is wild because, normally, I’m a bit of a cynic and definitely have a short fuse. I’m just crossing my fingers that this calm lasts at least a little while after the baby arrives. 🙂

And regarding the driving thing—I’m out on the road by myself every other day going to my prenatal appointments. And yeah, people give me those weird looks. But let’s be real... who actually has the time to chauffeur someone to every single hospital visit? My husband has to work, too. It’s better if he saves his time off for when the baby is actually here.

Besides, I don't see why driving is an issue... it's not like I'm driving a semi-truck. 🤷

Look, I’ll drive—I don't care if I end up in the ER or whatever—it's just that there's zero chance of finding a charging station up on Mercury.🙂

Man, I get it. I was driving myself back and forth to Austin just the other day... and honestly, it felt like everyone was staring at me like I was some kind of total moron. It’s such a trip, I guess. 😲

From where I’m standing, I find myself wondering why anyone in their third trimester would even attempt to get behind the wheel when I’m currently sitting at twenty-one weeks and practically confined to my bed... over these last five months, I haven't really stepped foot outside unless it was for a doctor's appointment, and even then, someone else had to drive me every single time. Honestly, the idea of driving is completely out of the question for me because just sitting in a car and feeling the bumps in the road is unbearable, let alone trying to adjust the seat back into some sort of reclined position—which isn't exactly comfortable either... I spend most of my day avoiding sitting or standing altogether, just staying horizontal as much as possible... so, I truly can't wrap my head around how there are pregnant women out there who don't find that position agonizing and can just drive around without a second thought... since this level of discomfort has become my "new normal"... it’s hard for me to sit up, lie down, or even get out of bed easily, and once I do sit for a bit, I feel this intense pressure, though it’s not even as if I’ve gained an excessive amount of weight... I don't even know what a "normal" pregnancy feels like anymore because these struggles have just become part of my daily life, so I’m genuinely surprised to hear about people who are practically running marathons right up until their due date...
I wish I could be one of those people, and I’ll admit I feel a little envious of all the healthy, active moms-to-be out there (so please don't take offense at my first sentence)... I suspect that when people comment on this, they aren't trying to be unkind, but rather they just associate pregnancy with being unable to perform certain, or perhaps even all, of our usual everyday activities...😉😁
