In response to that, I received the following "advice":
1. Have a drink yourself, because it might help sedate the baby.
2. Feed them some mashed bananas; apparently, people used to put those in formula to keep kids calmer.

I feel like I am constantly surrounded by idiots.😍

🤦 🤦

My sister-in-law was supposed to drive all the way from Canada to drop off my new MacBook, but of course, she can't because apparently that's against the rules right now.🙄🙄🙄

Jack Garcia5 said:Hey, regarding that "You're fat" comment🙂

I'm 5'4" and I've gained about 22 pounds—but I'm also two months away from giving birth. So, if anyone's actually fat here, it's definitely you, not me, you absolute moron.😠

Honestly, I don't even listen to people like that anymore. I mean, how can people be so incredibly clueless? 🙄
I'm currently 24 weeks along and have put on about 9 pounds. I started at 105 lbs, and yet I still deal with these ridiculous comments every single time. 🙂🙂🙂

🙂 Those skinny types are probably just jealous and itching for a fight. It doesn't matter if you're pregnant; gaining weight is a basic reality. 🤣🤣

Oh, the human tragedy... truly devastating...🤣🤣

"Wait, you haven't had the baby yet???"

It feels like I'm hearing this question constantly lately, and honestly, I just want to wish them a quick trip to the ER so they can get some peace...

I told them, "God willing, I still have about forty days left until my due date."

But when the exact same person asks you that same thing twice, you really start to wonder if there's anything going on behind those eyes...

I’m honestly so fed up with the public healthcare system. Most of these socialized OB-GYNs are totally mediocre and their equipment is straight-up outdated 🙄

If you actually want answers or want things done right, you basically have to pay out of pocket, otherwise you’re just wasting your time.

It honestly drives me crazy that I can't just send certain people a massive dose of karma—and trust me, I've definitely tried 😬

Kimberly Thompson36 said:My own mother tries this stuff with me—she actually had this "plan" where she wanted to take everything we bought for the baby over to her house because apparently, having baby gear sitting in our home is bad luck... so I had to sit her down and explain that when I walk through those hospital doors and come home, I am NOT going to be hunting around for a diaper or a onesie while I'm trying to care for a newborn. I'm going to put my things exactly where I want them, and that's final.
But she isn't the only one I've heard this from... it's all just superstitious nonsense and it drives me absolutely insane.

We heard all that same talk during our first pregnancy. My sister passed down all her hand-me-downs, so naturally, we had the crib assembled a few weeks before the due date. 😍
I couldn't wait to have it ready; having it sitting in the nursery actually helped calm my nerves while I was dealing with those final, brutal weeks of pregnancy. Yet, some older women tried to convince us that something terrible would happen if the crib was put together too early. In their "correct" version of events, you buy the gear while the mom is still in the hospital, then the dad brings it home and builds it. Just thought I'd share how it's "supposed" to work. 🤣

I just hope you don't go past your due date. I was honestly ready to chuck my phone into the ocean and let the tide take it. The sheer amount of stupidity people can spout—or text—to a swollen, hormone-driven pregnant woman... ugh! 🤣

Gerald Flores said:I’m actually getting a little frustrated with myself because I’m not even two months along yet, and I’ve already put on two pounds! 😲 Usually, you're supposed to lose weight during the first trimester because of the nausea... but that's my problem. Even though I feel nauseous, I can't seem to stop snacking just to keep from throwing up constantly. And look where that's getting me. Now I'm just hungry all the time! 🙂

I went through the exact same thing. Honestly, my appetite was all over the place at first, but things eventually settled down. These days, I’m actually eating about half as much as I was during those early months of pregnancy.
Keep it chill. No stress. 🙂

Where do I even start with this🙂
Yesterday at Walmart, the summer crowds were absolutely insane. Being seven months along, I spotted that big sign stating that pregnant women and people with disabilities get priority. Naturally, I headed toward one of the registers and politely asked the cashier if pregnant women were given precedence. She just gave me this cold, blank stare and snapped, "Why specifically at this register?" When I asked her which one I should use then, she just shrugged and said, "I don't know, go ask someone else." I was absolutely livid, and honestly, pretty embarrassed by the crowd watching me like I was some kind of zoo exhibit. So, I just gave up and joined the regular line.
This is exactly why women will never run the world. If this is how women treat one another, imagine what the rest of the world is like.

On another note, I’ve only gained about 9 pounds in seven months—probably due to the stress of moving, wedding planning, and everything else going on. Now, everyone has suddenly decided to act concerned and starts shaking their heads at me. I don't see how helpful that is; I've seen people gain 35, 40, or even 45 pounds. If my OB-GYN isn't worried, why is everyone else acting like there's a crisis?

Look, if you had gained more, they'd be lecturing you about how it's not healthy and how hard it'll be to lose the weight later... etc., etc.
You can't win. 🙄

so yeah... please, just leave me alone... hahaha

and I haven't even hit that phase yet. I’m seriously thinking about getting a burner number that only my mom, my sister, or my absolute best friend will have access to...

but whatever, they can still find me on Facebook if they really need to🙂

honestly though, I’ll probably end up blocking half my contact list by then hahahahahahaha

Some gems from my sister-in-law:
- When you're pregnant, you should just live your life however you want instead of constantly catering to the baby, especially when it comes to what you eat and drink.
- It honestly doesn't matter which hospital you choose for delivery.
- She keeps giving me these intense, play-by-play accounts of her friends' births—complete with graphic details about stitches and uterine ruptures—and I’m just sitting here waiting for her to start providing photographic evidence.

The funny thing is, she considers herself some kind of pregnancy and childbirth expert, despite the fact that she has never actually been pregnant or even given birth. You have to admire that level of confidence, I suppose. 😍

Then there were those precious pearls from my cousin, who had the audacity to ask why I’m still busy cooking and running around, and if I’ve gotten, well, "huge."
I just looked at her and said, "Honestly, honey, I'm so immobile and overweight that they'll probably have to bring me into the delivery room on a forklift."
She didn't have anything left to say after that.

Right on.

It’s just one of those things, isn't it? The people who were already getting on my last nerve before pregnancy seem to have found a whole new gear during it—and if they're this much to handle now, I can only imagine how much worse it gets once the baby actually arrives. But hey, what can you do?

Honestly, none of that really gets to me... I mean, give me a break, right? At the end of the day, I’m going to have my own delivery and my own unique experience to go through anyway

It honestly drives me absolutely crazy how nobody ever offers up their seat on the subway. I take the train back and forth to work every single day, and some evenings, I am just completely wiped out by the time I get home. Just the other day, this elderly lady with a cane actually offered me her spot—she sounded pretty annoyed about it too, which honestly made sense since no one else had even blinked. There was one afternoon where every single seat was taken, and there was only one person standing: a pregnant woman, of course.

I’ve noticed that people generally don't show much empathy toward pregnant women.
I personally never let anyone cut in front of me in line, and I tend to avoid public transit altogether because of it. I once had this experience at a Target where I was waiting in the priority lane reserved for pregnant women and those with disabilities, and this lady on crutches tried to push ahead, but the man in front of her just brushed her off, acting as if her disability didn't give her any special treatment over the rest of us.
If you don't stand up for yourself, nobody is going to acknowledge your situation. That is just the kind of society we live in now.

I even had a terrifying moment on the sidewalk recently when a kid, maybe nine or ten years old, saw that I was pregnant. He was so preoccupied playing roughly with his friend—while his dad was shouting at him to settle down—that he lunged straight toward my stomach with everything he had. I managed to throw my hands up just in time to protect myself and yelled at him, but the kid didn't even flinch; he just kept running right past me. His parents just glared at me, and in that moment, I felt like I could have slapped everyone in sight. People have truly become heartless. 😠

I was at my last checkup in the OB-GYN office when I found myself standing right next to three guys who were just sitting there... apparently exhausted from accompanying their better halves.
Let me repeat that: an OB-GYN clinic.
A place where they truly have nothing to ask for—other than maybe being a support system—let alone taking up precious seating space.

So, I was out in Chicago last week for a professional conference, right? And I’m standing there on the L—just totally minding my own business—when this high schooler next to me literally just stares at my stomach, rolls her eyes, and looks out the window like I'm some kind of exhibit. Then, to make matters even more awkward, an elderly lady behind her asks if I want her seat, even though it looked like she was struggling to stay upright herself! Honestly, it wasn't even like I was having a hard time standing—I'm not even in the home stretch of my pregnancy yet—but I just couldn't bring myself to take the seat. It would've felt way too uncomfortable to let that sweet lady stand just for my sake... so yeah, I just stayed on my feet.

Oh, please, that is hardly even news.
I dealt with that exact same nonsense countless times during my first pregnancy back when I was visiting the maternity clinic at SDu.
Honestly, I can't decide who's more obnoxious in those moments—the clueless guys or their oblivious partners. 🙄
