Kioko, the dress is gorgeous but that price tag... πŸ™‚

Speaking of weddings, does this dress look too plain for a maid of honor? Picture it with a nice shrug, some jewelry, and killer heels 😁 It's for a winter wedding, so the fabric is thicker even if it doesn't look like it in the photo.

Looks good to meβ€”even if it stays black (though I’d probably jazz it up with some colored accessories). The cut is 😍, and for those of us with a little more to love, πŸ™‚ the cut makes all the difference.

I always lean toward simpler dresses paired with statement shoes. At the last wedding I went to, I actually dared to wear 5-inch heels 😲, which is something I wouldn't even treat myself to. *Total skyscraper move*

Dana Wilson said:I'm totally feeling it... just the color, though, you know? Definitely not black. What were you thinking of going with?

I don't usually wear black or white to weddings, but since I'm stepping up as the maid of honor hereβ€”not just a guestβ€”I'm debating between a sharp women's suit or a classic black dress paired with colorful shoes and accessories.

@Charles Gomez4, I love this dress! Even the black color doesn't bother me because all that bright beadwork and bling makes it pop. My only issue is the boleroβ€”unless we're talking about those cropped ones that end just below the bust with long sleeves? I’m just not a fan. To me, those boleros just ruin the look of the dress. Maybe I just haven't seen the right ones yet.
I was at a wedding recently and really wanted to post a photo just to break the ice, but I don't have a single shot of myself where I actually look decent. Maybe I'll dress up again sometime soon just to get a good picture... (Is that weird!?)

I didn't have a specific bolero in mind. I just needed something for my shoulders since the wedding is this winter and it won't be getting above 50Β°F outside. Just get dressed and take some photosβ€”I'm sure everyone is dying to see how it looks. πŸ™‚

I think it looks good, even if she stays black (I’d just spruce it up with some colored details then). The font is... 😍And for those who have it all. πŸ™‚ Tailoring makes all the difference.

I always go for simpler dresses paired with statement shoes. At the last wedding I went to, I actually dared to wear 5-inch heelsβ€”something I wouldn't even treat myself to for my own wedding. *skyscraper*

Thanks. πŸ™‚ I love A-line dresses; I think they look best on me. My only worry was if they felt a bit too corporate or formal for a wedding.

13, 5, wow. 😍

There are some seriously great combos here. My favorites have to be the short or long skirts paired with a cute blouse. And honestly, pregnancy looks amazing on her! If she were here, I’d steal everything from her except the shoes: http://girlwithcurves.com/post/42263.../at-the-office 😁

Ladies, there is something I can't quite wrap my head around regarding the DP website: if the size 2 pants I ordered end up being a bad fit, is it actually worth returning them? How much does it cost? Any experiences?

Was this page it?
http://www.navabi.co.uk/dresses.html?psize=30&p=4

Honestly, those banners totally hooked me the second I clicked. πŸ™‚
They’re definitely on the pricier side, but you know, if there's a big night out coming up or something, there are some really cute pieces in there that fit just right. πŸ™‚

Hey ladies... I have this black dress (it's the one on the left under A. in the photo)... it just doesn't fit right, the top part is way too tight across my chest...

So if anyone wants to buy it or swap, let me know πŸ™‚ I'm in the Chicago area (or we can do shipping through USPS)

@Linda Johnson15, it would be a huge help if you could share your measurements or even just your body typeβ€”like pear, apple, hourglass, etc.β€”so the girls here can figure out if that dress is actually their vibe. Or, you could just measure the dress itself so we can compare it to stuff we already have in our closets. πŸ˜‰

_____

So, I went shopping again. 😳 Found these pants at Target that fit me perfectlyβ€”the color is a bit loud (they have other options, but this one just works with my purple hair and pale skin), but the cut is honestly divine. They have various sizes left (I think 16 is the largest) and they’re only $56. The fabric feels high-quality and has some stretch to it. They taper a bit at the bottom, too. I really need to stick to this specific cutβ€”I used to have these jeans from Gap in this exact style and they were hands down the best I’ve ever owned. Can't find them anywhere now. 😒
Anyway... these ones from Target don't come in "normal" colors; everything is super bright 🀣 so unless you're into neon, save your money and your gas.

Size 44 is about 17-18 inches. πŸ™‚

I saw they had size 46 in plenty of colors (tried those too), and while I didn't look too closely at the 48s, they did have them in stockβ€”they're organized by size on the rack, and there were some 48s right at the end.

I tried a few different 44s and 46s, and honestly, even within the same size, they aren't always identical. So, definitely try a few pairs until you find the ones that actually fit right. πŸ˜‰

P.S.
There was one last thing left at the clearance rackβ€”a woven skirtβ€”but only in a size 14. I tried it on (hope dies last, right? 🀣), but it just didn't sit right, even when I pulled it lower on my hips 😒. Everything else was either floral or those soft pastelsβ€”and since I mostly stick to black or loud, bright colors πŸ˜‚, none of it really felt like my vibe.

I did spot something like this, though (it was the very last one left):
image $73 (you can find it on eBay for about $50 plus shipping 😍)

There were a few pretty dresses tooβ€”honestly, one with flowers 😲 near the hem was gorgeousβ€”but they were cut for someone with more of an apple shape, or at least someone whose bust-waist-hip ratio isn't quite so extreme. They had plenty of sizes available, though.

nimbleheron47, those trousers are absolutely stunning... I find myself wearing nothing but this specific cut all summer long, and the sense of comfort they provide is truly wonderful. πŸ™‚ As autumn approaches, I am thinking of finding some in deeper shades, perhaps a dark petrol green or a classic black...

My Dorothy Perkins pants from the previous page finally arrived, they're gorgeous 😍. The length is perfect (given I'm 5'10"), and the fabric feels really high quality, though they're a tiny bit tight at the knees 🀷 which doesn't make much sense since they're supposed to be straight leg but oh well. They fit perfectly at the waist; can't wait for it to cool down so I can style them with my blazers.

I also ordered that black dress from the photo in the last post from NEXT, $130. I'll let you guys know how it looks once it gets here.

Kioko, love the pants and the skirt! If anyone spots anything similar, let me knowβ€”no luck finding any P&C around here.

Look, I’ll be honestβ€”I’ve got zero curves. My backside is as flat as the plains in Kansas. 😒

My Dorothy Perkins overalls just showed up too, and they're huge on me.πŸ™‚
I guess I thought maybe they’d be a bit bigger, but there wasn't another size available, and honestly, they're really cute and super comfy. Now I'm just kind of losing my mind over them.πŸ™„
