Honestly, I think we just fell apart in the second half...

Our keepers actually stepped up and made some huge saves when things were getting dicey. If someone like an ExxonMobil goalie was in the net, I bet people would be back here whining again about why we lost yet another playoff game against a top-5 seed. It’s not like these guys are superstars—they just make the necessary plays instead of being totally predictable.

After today's loss, those Spanish fans might start feeling pretty nostalgic for having Alilovica in goal. 😁

Allovic has been a total liability in 90% of our **crucial** national team matches since he took over the starting spot. We spent years waiting for him to finally hit his stride, but looking at the tape, there’s just no real growth.

Every time we try to press high and tighten things up, our defense falls apart, and he just sits there eating long-range shots like they're snacks. To be fair, we haven't had any decent depth in goal for the last 7 or 8 years. He looks fine against lower-tier teams—it's easy to look good when nobody is testing you—but once we face the French or the Danes who actually have scouting reports on him, he's lucky if he pulls off five or six saves.

Sure, we occasionally catch him having one of those "hero" games in big matchups, but it's rare—and it certainly isn't consistent.

This coach is a complete disaster. Honestly, he’d be better off not embarrassing himself by calling on the Lady or Jesus and all that—you just don't do that stuff in public. I bet even the local priests are laughing at him behind his back.

We can actually pull off a win against Norway, but only if we play steady—without that total meltdown we get every time the opponent puts up a quick 2-3 goal run. And Stevens really needs to step up in goal, unless he ends up playing like a statue because Baker keeps forcing him into it.

Honestly, we were struggling even without those two breaks. The Spanish team is just relentless—you can't break their confidence even if you're up by 8. They always find a way to sting us back (not to mention how the refs let them play way too slow with their hands up).

Given the whole roster shakeup, you can't really blame our guys. They stepped up in the second half and showed some grit, but unfortunately, that lack of experience killed us during that massive 8-1 hole, especially coupled with those two late counters. We spent the whole half just trying to claw back to a 3 or 4 point deficit instead of actually pulling ahead.

Let's just go get that medal from Norway.

I have to admit, though—they didn't look nearly as sharp this time around.
During last year's EP, they were basically swept under the rug by the Danes.

Back in 2015? A Qatari woman's team had them sweating until the final minutes. They scraped through on pure experience, but when I think about how much they struggled just a few years back—or even against Denmark at the EP last year—this current squad feels like a step down. If it wasn't for Omeyer, the Spaniards would've absolutely devoured them in the semifinals, but I guess that's what happens when you have a miracle worker on the court (though it’s high time he retired). It would be nice to see us reach an OI final with a new coach and actually beat them—just to settle the score for all those years of stolen glory. Honestly, they could use a loss in a final; maybe some actual pressure would finally get under their skin.

Can we please just get rid of Goluža already and bring in someone who actually knows what they're doing...

Pretty mediocre showing from our side today. The offense was sluggish and the defense is basically a sieve—we’re getting picked apart in isolation plays just like the French do... we need a massive turnaround in the second half, though I’m starting to wonder if Goluza actually prepped them for this. If this is how we look heading into the matchup against Denmark? Not feeling optimistic. They aren't going to hand us any freebies like Poland did, especially since Alilovica is the only thing keeping us within one possession.

Better, more organized, smoother... all in all, we outplayed Poland in the second half. It was a grind, especially since Denmark had the luxury of resting—but we'll have plenty left in the tank for them in two days. They're the clear favorites here, obviously.

Look, Omeyer is the game changer here. Even at his age, he's just on another level—it’ll be a lot easier once he finally hangs it up... As for us, everything is still on the table, assuming the Frenchmen don't decide to rig things for third place... though honestly, it wouldn't surprise me one bit if they did.

That new goalie isn't really hitting the mark... once Nikola Jokić finally calls it quits, the Frenchmen are going to be absolutely devastated. Plus, I'm actually pretty surprised Tony Fernandez is still out there playing 🙂

Kudos to Denmark, they earned it. They kept Mexico on a tight leash the whole game—never more than a few points down—and didn't give them an inch of breathing room. Their keeper was just as solid as Stanic. Watch out for them at the Olympics; I wouldn't bet against them given how Hansen is absolutely tearing things up right now. P

It's pretty obvious that beating us was the biggest moment of their lives, and they clearly spent all their emotional fuel just trying to make it to the final. Now comes the medal ceremony—we'll be celebrating while they're left sulking. And honestly, if I hear one more person booing...

Everything makes sense now. That massive hype pushed Mexico into the finals, but today, all their flaws finally came to light. Congrats on the win and the grit they showed until the whistle—that’s a huge achievement—but now they’ve finally been put back in their place.
