It isn't about them being "forbidden" from saying things. It's simpler than that: they just don't like her as a person in real life and they don't want her having any authority over them. If you actually listen to what I'm saying, it's pretty easy to wrap your head around. They were happy when Lucy and ruggedscout76 were running things, and they don't get why everything had to change. Besides, you can see exactly what's happening on the USA forums right now. You aren't blind. Suddenly there's an army of mods patrolling the USA boards, even though a month ago they barely knew the USA existed. You think mistyhound94 is being a hypocrite? He's not the only one who reacted this way, and you have to respect that. 🍿

Who actually spent years hanging out with those people? Let's not exaggerate. Personal issues basically caused most of the crew to go off the rails because they were set up to be trendy, plain and simple. Honestly, the way it went down wasn't right, but Andy owns this forum and he can host whoever he wants. There isn't much we can do about it. We either deal with it or just walk away. Some people already left. Others stayed, and that's just how it is. Nobody here is being a hypocrite. 🍿

Like I’ve mentioned before, I see Lonely Heart as the vanguard of this Forum. 🙂 I stumbled into the US section just when Ludica stepped up as a mod. My goal was to fix a glaring flaw we have when bringing in new mods—throwing them straight into the fire to figure it out themselves without actually teaching them the Forum's core vision. Usually, new mods just mimic whatever the previous ones did or follow rules from other sub-forums, which isn't always the right move. But it has worked; the moderator discussions in US are now almost as active as the main threads themselves. 🙂

Rome wasn't built in a day, so these ideas will roll out as they come. Their defining trait is that they break away from standard forum clichés.

Since I've been closely monitoring US for about a month and a half now, I feel the need to jump in and go beyond the surface level. Sometimes I forget to switch to my alt account, so my posts end up under this handle. 😁

As for Butterfly, she’s a veteran mod who consistently contributes to moderator discussions and stays fully looped into everything we’re trying to build. She helped bring Shadow in moderation on board, helped brainstorm ideas, and has been incredibly active behind the scenes. Honestly, she was basically our third mod long before she officially got the title. Lata used to be a mod back on LJES during its peak years, so she understands the spirit of the old Forum—back when things were more inventive and exciting, before everyone started getting banned or kicked, and topics were rarely locked. That connection to the Forum's original inspiration is invaluable. Since I know how she thinks and we click, she was my choice, regardless of whether people liked it or not. You can't please everyone, and I'm not going to waste energy trying.

Anyway, do you have any specific complaints about Latino moderation, or do you just dislike her?

That’s the whole point right there. Honestly, Lata might be the best choice for moderation because she actually cares about this place. She’s been following the US scene closely for ages and really pays attention to the details. I’ve been around here a long time, and I’ve never had a single issue with her on the chat or the forum. To me, that’s what matters most—not whatever people are saying outside the community. Case in point: I started acting out for no reason, and she didn't even give me a warning. She just told me to stop talking about her role as a mod and said I could get back to posting like usual. I think everyone needs to take a step back and think about why they're so against Lata being a mod. Look in the mirror and you'll realize nobody is a better fit than her, unless you count that one perfect guy and legendary forum member. But I'll save the praise for him for another thread. Lata hasn't banned anyone yet. The one time she did hand out a warning, everyone jumped on her. Looking back, we weren't being fair. 🍿
