God dammit... I'm losing it... ugh... in Close to Politics ·
Look, why don't you just give us the gift list first? We’d rather not just throw our money down the drain without a plan...

We really want to avoid causing some kind of diplomatic disaster—imagine if we accidentally showed up with a high-end knife set instead of something appropriate. 😬

Honestly, this whole thing is going to be even more chaotic than a wild weekend in Las Vegas.🙂 🎉

we’re going to give them a gift... 🙂 🙂
First aid kit essentials... in Economy ·
We were actually debating this over on Politics, if you want to take a look here where
this link was shared pointing to the official European Union pages regarding first aid kit requirements for their member states . To cut through the noise, the situation regarding whether you're required to carry a kit and what exactly needs to be inside it varies wildly across the European Union:

Quincy:
"Compulsory availability of first aid kits in private cars"/Maintenance and replacement of first aid kits:

Austria - Not used in private car/No rule
Belgium - Yes/NA
Germany - Yes/No rule
Denmark - No/Specifies 7 mandatory items and their quantities
Spain - Not used in private car/No rule
Greece - Yes/NA
France - Not used in private car/NA
Finland - Not used in private car/Should be checked every 5 years
Italy - Not used in private car/NA
Ireland - Not used in private car/NA
Luxembourg - NA/NA
Netherlands - Not used in private car/No rule
Portugal - Not used in private car/No rule
Sweden - No rule/No rule
USA - Not used in private car/NA
All of this serves to illustrate that there is no overarching mandate within the European Union to carry a first aid kit in personal vehicles; instead, the decision is left entirely to individual member states. Even the specific contents aren't standardized. Yet, here we are in America, proving once again how utterly disconnected our bureaucracy is—passing endless regulations on everything under the sun while failing to enforce a single one of them. It makes me wonder if this whole absurdity with the first aid kits isn't just another part of some "brilliant" scheme to funnel money into the state's piggy bank via traffic safety laws... a plan whose sheer genius is perfectly mirrored by our current 0% competence rate.

Collins is currently out in front, though granitepuma3 is hot on his heels 😱 ...it’s honestly a bit ridiculous if it’s only a five-vote lead at this stage. Meanwhile, Walter hasn't managed to scrape together a single point 😲 what the hell is going on 😂

Disclaimer: I haven't cast my vote for anyone yet... 😳 I'm just feeling completely uninspired right now 😬

Look, you can't really have one without the other... 😬

Look, Keith James812, you can talk all you want, but I'm done listening to your nonsense; starting tonight, it's time to get back into my routine with new episodes of Sex and the City... 😁

James Lewis4 said:The logic here is incredibly murky. It seems like the most extreme far-right factions are getting all the preferential treatment from the establishment—taking up those top three spots. Nothing is set in stone yet, but if you really want to play this game, I’ll go ahead and check in with the likes of LeBron James; if the frontrunner happens to be some young, wealthy socialite, she’ll fall right into his lap. Even if she's from a completely different background altogether! 🙂

Good grief, just how much does this woman adore the establishment?! 😲
LeBron absolutely crushed her, and yet here she is, playing matchmaker for him... Talk about having a selfless soul. 🙂

Or is this some sort of olive branch? I mean, if her performances are what secure the first-place prize, and LeBron happens to take the win by chance?!
What a love story 😍

graniteowl88 said:thirdplace 😬 Looking at that list of "most repulsive right-wingers..." brings me back to those endless, circular debates we see on cable news every single night. It’s easy to point fingers and label people based on their rhetoric, but if you actually sit down and dissect the underlying ideology, you realize most of these individuals aren't just outliers—they are symptoms of a much larger, more systemic decay in our political discourse. It isn't enough to simply call someone names; one must examine why their particular brand of populism resonates with such a disillusioned segment of the population in the first place.

It’s all about the separation, provided they hold up under pressure.

A&W, let me take a wild guess—who on earth could that possibly be? 😁

Well, I find myself wondering—is it really all about selfishness? I certainly don't operate with that narrow, self-serving mindset some of these other characters seem to possess; I genuinely find joy in seeing others succeed too.😍

Typically, when people win these kinds of prestigious awards, they walk away with luxury cars, all-expenses-paid trips to New York City to master English, diamond tiaras, or perhaps a massive wardrobe filled with designer pieces...

But that isn't the point being made here, is it? Honestly, where is this world heading? Is this truly what passes for our intellectual elite these days?!!🙂

And what exactly is the prize for taking first place? What about second? And third... 🥳

The notion that the concept behind Brief Encounter is anything even remotely original is completely unfounded; it’s nothing more than a recycled premise, albeit one presented through much different circumstances in that film we used to call "Life is Beautiful."Brief Encounter It’s essentially a series of Brief Encounters between a man and a woman at a train station, where he happens to be catching a connecting train and is forced to kill some time waiting for his next ride. That's where they cross paths, meet, and everything unfolds from there.

"Brief Encounter" is an absolute masterpiece. There is simply no contest. In my opinion, it stands as the finest film ever directed by Leanov. I found myself completely captivated by Trevor Howard. 😍Off-topic: I can't help but wonder when our garbage TV networks will finally decide to air a legitimate retrospective of British or French cinema from that era. Instead of actually offering some substance, they just keep cycling through the same tired reruns of Rambo and Lethal Weapon for the millionth time.

If this Coppola film manages to capture even a fraction of that Leanov essence, then credit where credit is due: kudos to Sofia.
