yeay!!! thanks so much, guys!🙏

Larry Ortiz5 said:Try resetting Google Chrome back to its factory defaults—you can find that tucked away under the "Reset and clean up" section in the Advanced settings. You shouldn't have to worry about manually re-entering your usernames or passwords after that, either; the default setup is designed to keep those saved.

I already tried that, but it keeps hitting me with those verification codes sent to my phone whenever I try to log into my gmail : Turn OFF 2-Step Verification.🤔
Psychic Couch - Help needed! in Feedback & Suggestions ·
I’m asking the moderators to please step in regarding certain users who are trolling the Psychic Couch threads—they're being vulgar, insulting other members, and even pushing alcohol and drug use.
I've sent in several reports already, but nothing seems to change.
I'd specifically ask you to look over the posts by Salevart, Casey Cox2, Wolf-a1524, and Miami. Because of them, plenty of people have stopped posting—not to mention the impression they leave on newcomers who might actually be looking for advice for health issues or just want to share their own experiences. This kind of behavior was never tolerated here before. Thank you!

I think I messed something up in my Chrome settings—every single time I head over to Gmail, it asks me for a code, and it’s doing the same thing when I try to log into my social media accounts. Which specific setting do I need to tweak so it stops bugging me? Basically, I just want my pages to open up with my username and password already filled in. Thanks!

Laptop dead?!? in IT Support ·
Jerry Robinson56 said:Wait—isn't that still under warranty?
It’s probably not even worth fixing. Though—and I could be wrong here—I have a hunch the issue is just the power supply... but hey, that's just my two cents.
With that kind of cash, you can snag an incredible used model—sometimes for half the sticker price. You can even find deals around the $500 mark if you look hard enough.$267 I’ve been hunting for some decent used laptops lately—specifically ones that won't choke when you try to edit video. It's a bit of a struggle finding something with enough muscle to handle the workload without breaking the bank.

We’re just waiting on the green light from the insurance company—once they sign off, the shop will get everything squared away.🙂

Still waiting—it’s been about two weeks now—but I haven't heard a peep from anyone yet.🤔

Turns out the motherboard kicked the bucket—now we're just waiting to see if Geico covers it—otherwise they're asking for $500 before taxes😲😲😲

Jerry Robinson56 said:If there isn’t any obvious external damage, they have to honor the warranty. Clips snapping isn't exactly a standard issue with these batteries—so stay firm. It's definitely not your fault.

Jerry Robinson56 said:🙂It’s likely just due to poor battery quality.

thanks so much

I'm still waiting—it's been about two weeks now—but nobody has reached out yet.

You’ve got to be a little more gentle with your laptop—it sounds like you might have some damage to the connector or the motherboard port, though that shouldn't be a massive headache to fix.
Honestly, if you don't need battery life, it might be cheaper to just grab an older used laptop on eBay for a couple hundred bucks rather than dealing with this.

Do you think a glitch like that is covered under warranty?

It won't turn on even when plugged in.

I'm guessing you're local to San Francisco.

Really? Based on what?🤣

It looks like none of the places I messaged are even open on Saturdays—so we might just have to grab that desktop from the old office location instead.

Kyle Sanchez96 said:Try powering it up without the battery and snap some photos of any damage you see.

It was working fine before—now it won't budge. It’s still under its 5-year warranty, so we're heading to the repair shop soon.

I took a look, but I honestly don't see any physical damage at all.

The shop where we bought it actually recommended a specific service center, so we're dropping it off there this Monday.

I’m honestly torn—should I just start prepping the trash can, or is there still a glimmer of hope?
So, here's the deal: every time I opened my laptop, the battery would pop out from the right side—it looks like some kind of internal clip finally snapped.
After that, I just kept pushing the battery back into the slot and everything seemed fine—until tonight, when it popped out again and now the laptop won't even turn on. I tried taking the battery out and putting it back in, and I noticed a little light glowing near the charging port. Please, if anyone has any advice, I'd really appreciate it! Thanks!

Does anyone know where I could rent a laptop over the weekend? Thanks!

What does it actually mean when the app asks to connect to a VPN? Do I need to turn that part on or leave it off? Thanks!

I ended up downloading some random adblocker because whenever I try to browse this forum on my phone, I can't get through a single sentence—the page just crashes and pops open an ad, over and over again. It's driving me crazy! Does anyone have a solid recommendation for which adblocker I should actually install? Thanks!

Reach out to a crisis center—if you happen to be in NYC, you can just head over to Mount Sinai, but if you aren't local, please feel free to call anytime.
How do I open and play VOB files? in IT Support ·
frozenviper13 said:Oh boy—someone actually tried compressing a DVD movie into a RAR file, and to make matters worse, the file is corrupt and won't even unpack. What a mess! 🤦

My advice? You're better off just grabbing a standard digital version—it'll be way smaller than that old DVD format anyway. 🙂

Thanks so much! I ended up downloading a different version and found the subtitles, so everything is working perfectly now.👍

I just downloaded a movie in a RAR archive, but things went a little sideways during the extraction process. Now, whenever I try to open the file, all I see is a bunch of different segments in some VOB format—and honestly, I’m totally lost on how to actually watch it. Do these VOB files need to be merged together somehow first? Thanks!

Why is it asking me to format the disk? in IT Support ·
Jerry Robinson56 said:It’s pretty likely you popped in a rewritable CD 🙂

Basically, those RW discs are the ones constantly asking for a format... oh, wait—I see they already replied to you... (doesn't really matter what the burner says about being a DVDRW)
Maybe try to track down Nero 6—it actually works on Windows 7 😁, whereas Windows 10 is just a total headache...
Adaptec is a much cleaner program, but honestly, Nero is king.
If you can't find it, let me know and I'll upload it for you...

I burned those exact same discs at my office without any issues, and we're running Windows 10 there too. 🤔

Andrew Peterson2 said:Right—maybe try using a different disc; this one might just be a dud.

So you mean a different CD?
Why is it asking me to format the disk? in IT Support ·
Andrew Peterson2 said:First off, I noticed at the top it says "DVD RW," which means the media is rewritable—you can use it multiple times—but you really need to wipe it clean before trying to burn anything new. That’s likely what the formatting step is all about. Usually, you just look for an option like "Erase to disc." Check out this image https://www.easeus.com/images/en/scr...ase-cd-dvd.jpg to find that setting, then give the burning process another shot.

If that doesn't do the trick, honestly, just try a different tool; sometimes things just get wonky within the built-in Windows utility.

Here is a solid free one for you: https://cdburnerxp.se/

Also, there's a chance the disc itself is just a dud. I've had plenty of times where my discs refused to burn and kept spitting right back out of the drive, so I just tossed them in the trash. It's even possible it isn't actually an RW disc, but just such low quality that the computer thinks it is.

I tried erasing it, but it keeps asking me to format it again.

Downloaded the software, but it just ejected the CD immediately.
