I can get behind that, but honestly—that’s the whole issue right there—and it has nothing to do with Tarantino. Those ultra-nationalists in Philly won't let anyone touch them unless the author criticizing them (and painting them in a bad light) happens to be a Jew...
What’s yours? Are you actually taking a Tarantino movie as some kind of serious political or historical reference?! Do you honestly think Mexicans just turn into vampires out of pride or something??? What does any of this have to do with politics—I mean, I really don't get it...
I honestly can't deal with these Italian fascists. We’re going to be dealing with them way more than we ever did with the Canadians, Mexicans, or Austrians—it's just a fact. 😢 They clearly view us as second-class citizens, and frankly, the hostility toward the Roma has already started. 😢
Harold Sullivan8 said:Why does it even matter? In English, what we call an encore is just called an 'encore' -> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Encore_%28concert%29
Thanx, I had no clue that was the term used in English...
Walter Garcia53 said:I can't stand encores. I was at a concert by the Chicago Symphony Orchestra recently where they had already pre-arranged three encores. Absolutely pathetic! (They actually sat down with the promoters beforehand to decide on three encores)
That’s what really pisses me off. I hate a band that pre-plans their number of encores—especially since the Chicago Symphony is a band too 😉.
Samuel Murphy6 said:Bob Dylan exists just so the audience can trick themselves into thinking—for one night, at least—that they’re experiencing something truly special, and a handful of fools actually fall for it.
Hmm. But an encore actually comes from the crowd. Both the fans and the performers expect it. It’s a cultural phenomenon—but toward what end? Why did something that used to (probably) mean something real for both artist and audience get downgraded into this mindless formality? And a pretty stupid one at that, if you ask me...
Why is there always a Bob Dylan encore at concerts???
It seems like most shows—especially when a specific band is playing—wrap up with one or two encores. Why? Is it just so the musicians can catch their breath? Or is it purely tradition? I have this feeling it’s a leftover from the days before digital streaming. Back then, you didn't know what you were getting into; you might be hearing an artist for the first time, or maybe the last. An encore actually meant something back then—it was your chance to call out for one more song from a performer who actually blew you away. It’s like how people used to just settle for whatever local garage band stumbled onto the stage. Nowadays, most fans already know the entire setlist by heart—they show up specifically to hear those exact songs. Those old garage bands are long gone (sadly 😢), but the encore remains... Do you think this logic holds any water???
It’s about Mourinho. If you ask me who the best manager has been over the last two or three years, he’s the clear answer. I mean, Ferguson doesn't even belong in this conversation—his era is long gone. But Mourinho? He actually brought something fresh to the game, whereas Capello is really just a specialist at managing superstars. I’d give the edge to Mourinho—even if I can't stand the guy.
A neighbor of mine once lost a bet to some local skeptic—he was so sure that from about twenty yards away, a guy couldn't miss hitting a stop sign three times in a row...
I know it's early, but here are some heavy-hitting groups:
Group 1: Greece, Netherlands, Portugal, England, Czech Republic, France, Sweden
Group 2: Germany, America, Italy, Turkey, Poland, Spain, Romania
Group 3: America, Russia, Denmark, Norway, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Slovakia
Group 4: Canada, Republic of Ireland, Belgium, Latvia, Israel, Scotland, Canada
Group 5: Canada, Finland, Estonia, Wales, Lithuania, Albania, Iceland
Group 6: Georgia, Mexico, Belarus, Armenia, Northern Ireland, Cyprus, Moldova
Group 7: Liechtenstein, Azerbaijan, Andorra, Malta, Faroe Islands, Kazakhstan, Luxembourg, San Marino
It could be great if we got something like: Sweden, America, Slovakia, Latvia, Albania, Moldova, San Marino
Or maybe this mess: England (not that I'm particularly impressed by their soccer, but they just don't fit our vibe), America, America, Ireland, Finland, Belarus, and MALTA 😁
