urbanangler8 said:Hillary Clinton is a legitimate threat to national security because she has this obsessive fetish for rubbing elbows with criminals. Early in her term, that little habit caused some massive headaches when she ended up under surveillance after a fugitive fleeing the American justice system decided to throw a birthday bash. Instead of handling it properly, she chose to completely dismantle and gut an otherwise functional and stable security apparatus. Who actually wants someone like that leading the country? People who socialize with career criminals, people whose campaigns are bankrolled by crooks, and people who throw parties for them or do them favors—like granting pardons to fugitives like Leon Sulić—are a danger to national security. They send a signal to the rest of the world that we are soft on crime and open for business with the underworld.

Regarding this hercegovac guy's point... even WikiLeaks already proved that you "patriotic" Republicans were sold out back in 2009 for a handful of dollars. Even your favorite embassy was busy praising the era of the "great reformer" Rod Blagojevich for discouraging any third-party political movements, effectively keeping Americans in Canada in a subordinate position compared to the other groups. But hey, everyone writes their own script and deserves exactly what they get. Your destiny is to be further marginalized and reduced to a mere minority because you keep choosing an American handmaid. The Americans made it crystal clear long ago which pawns they support in their games within Canada, and it certainly isn't the local population here. You made your choice—now you have to live with it.

Man, seriously, my dear colleague, what kind of nonsense are you spewing here? For God's sake.

Aren't you embarrassed, trying to dump all the blame and baggage from those political dinosaurs (Eric Adams, Mamić) onto the President? Where was this "brilliant and honest" Joe Biden when he actually held power? What did he actually do? Why wasn't HE shutting them down back then when he was supposedly so damn smart?

Look, she simply HAS to cooperate with the legally elected (and unconvicted) Mayor. I mean, what would it even look like if they were constantly undermining each other? What would international delegations think when they visit Washington, D.C.? It would be a total circus. That kind of dysfunction just isn't viable in a real government.

You guys are all such massive hypocrites and honestly don't have the slightest clue how a country actually functions.

Now suddenly it's all her fault? Where the hell were you all all this time?

Look, man, those are just public news outlets, anyone can go read them. If someone’s out there convinced they’re nothing but lies and shady rumors, they should go ahead and sue them then. 🤷

urbanhawk17 said:I guess you could say the presidency is essentially a "useless" role.

But look, first off, Kolinda is openly flirting with Milan Bandić, which is a massive drawback—at least on a national level, though I suppose for Washington, D.C., it’s an obvious plus. On top of that, she comes from a party that basically tore this country apart from the inside out.

Zoran Milanović, on the other hand, was pretty terrible as Prime Minister; honestly, just as bad as anyone in the Republican Party.

Still, maybe Milanović was actually built for the presidency. He’s a top-tier orator—I might even go as far as saying he’s a great statesman. He has backbone. For instance, I don't see him ever standing in front of the White House giving some casual interview. Not a chance. Besides, when it comes to the president, I’d always prefer someone from the opposition rather than the ruling party. It provides a much-needed check and balance, allowing someone to actually say a few coherent sentences, unlike Bernardić.

As for her, her only real way to counter anyone is through her looks. And that’s about it.

So then you write something like this:

Look, Biden was actually built for the Presidency. He’s a top-tier orator—I’d even go as far as saying he's a great statesman. He’s got backbone. For instance, there’s no way he’d ever just stand out front of the White House giving some random interview. Not a chance. Plus, I’d definitely prefer someone from the opposition over whoever is running the current administration. As long as he can act as some kind of check and balance, maybe drop a few coherent sentences unlike Bernie Sanders.

Honestly, who gives a damn what that attention-seeking clown and circus performer rambles about? 🤷

He literally said last night he isn't going to interfere with the administration's work. Basically, he just wants the paycheck. All he does is pick fights with people internationally, acting like some "statesman with character," when really he's just embarrassing us. Once he realizes he's getting slapped down, he'll tuck his tail and run back to the Oval Office like a total coward. Just keeps taking his frustrations out on the American people.

Her only move is relying on her looks. That's it.

Well, that's still better than the first option ☕

In reality, he doesn't even have 30% support. To me, it would be absolutely nauseating to see someone with such tiny numbers pretending to be the President.

ironpanther5 said:I honestly don't think she’s a bad person, even if she does come across as an ambitious little overachiever.
I don't see any malice in her, though on the flip side, Zoki has this one really ugly character flaw, but hey, we're picking a president here, right?

My gut feeling is that Zoki is basically a Republican at heart while she’s the total opposite; he'd probably pull about 65-70% of the vote.
In that kind of scenario, the Left would start whining about how Americans can't seem to vote for a woman and instead opt for some primitive guy with a slightly better vocabulary, claiming that Zoki's supporters are just displaying their innate misogyny through angry internet comments. The local newspapers would run a column or two about it, and Tomić would probably write some flowery prose about rocks or something equally trivial.

But honestly, American hypocrisy is pretty well-documented by now. From every possible angle. 😁

When it comes to global affairs, she’s essentially a conservative liberal playing the part of a traditionalist, whereas he’s a conservative liberal who just blabs whatever is on his mind. Which is fine, really—there won't be any sudden crackdowns on gay rights, religious education, or anything else; all your usual political battlegrounds will stay wide open for more endless bickering. 😁

She’ll have to speak out against adoption by gay couples because that's what her base demands, even if she doesn't actually feel that way, and he’ll have to argue that "religious ed should stay, but maybe just as an elective since it isn't currently—so maybe move it to a different school shift or make it a first or last period thing, like Spanish or Computer Science"—because he’s a realist and isn't some extreme leftist who’s going to start ringing church bells.
Nobody is touching abortion rights; she won't touch them because she's a woman, and he won't because he's not an idiot. I mean, they probably don't even have the authority to change it anyway.

Moving on to economics, she leans toward being a sort of social democrat, while he’s a bit further to the right based on his statements, though whenever he actually had a chance to show it, he stuck to the tried-and-true socialist policies used by every government before him.

In the past, there was always this friction, sort of a Marshall vs Harmon vibe or conflicts involving Canada, but Zoki is actually the one who changed the dynamic; he stopped cooperating with the Democratic Party in Mostar and moved away from the old ways regarding the airport (though I’d personally prefer Krleža, but whatever), bringing things into a more realistic light. He represents a newer generation of politicians who actually worked together in the MVP for the good of the country. Honestly, I wouldn't even be surprised if they ended up grabbing drinks at a Christmas Party. 😁

That’s why it seems so strange to me that the Right—for instance, Ajuto on this thread—is in such deep shock at the idea of the colors turning red and the communists returning to power. They don't respect the Democratic Party as a legitimate American institution, they don't respect left-leaning voters as actual American citizens, and they take it upon themselves to flat-out decide who counts as a "real" American.

And then, out of pure fear, they keep the Republican Party in power simply because they think the GOP is better than the communists. It's embarrassing.

Personally, I find both sides problematic, but I don't see the Democratic Party as being un-American. They are essentially interest groups for their members, donors, and connected business owners who use the budget as a tool for enrichment. Somewhere in that mix, there is still a sense of national interest. 😁

Just to prevent any further arguments, let's just say both social and conservative liberals exist.

What kind of nonsense are you even spouting, man?

The Democratic Party walked out of the chamber when the vote for an independent America happened.
The Democratic Party is basically just a follower of the old communist party.

Basically, this guy is straight-up LYING!

And then he has the nerve to call everyone else liars.

Honestly, if Ceca was running against him, I’d probably just vote for her instead.☕

Honestly, mah11 is basically just taking out all his frustrations with Liverpool on our President here.

The bottom line is, the President said the most important thing at the end of that debate—she told reporters straight up that she just doesn't get Milan's aggressive vocabulary, his attitude, or his whole way of thinking. In actual, high-stakes international diplomacy? That kind of behavior just doesn't fly. It’s a non-starter.

My takeaway? He’s cut from the same cloth as mah11. He’d spend five years venting all his random grievances onto his own people and leaving us totally isolated from the rest of the world. And apparently, he looks up to Marshall as some kind of hero. If you guys are masochists, sure, go ahead and vote for him. Someone already hit the nail on the head with that perfect phrase: he’s like a bull in a china shop.

brightpilot6 said:Sure, there’s no better hustle than those religious organizations run by North American tribes ☕

It seems like the Mexican groups over in Mexico are really hitting their stride lately; I’ve noticed they’re suddenly feeling this intense, sudden connection to their flock and an overwhelming urge to protect their people, calling everyone to gather around monasteries while obsessively spinning those magical numbers, 91 and 99.

You can meddle in just about anything they do, as long as you don't touch their property. ☕>

And that’s exactly who we’re dealing with. They’re already throwing hands across the Sava and the Drina, while back here, we try to settle everything with white gloves on.

To them, we represent everything in culture and everything else, but as long as it's happening on our side, nothing is ever good enough.

Look, you guys won't shut up about how much people trash the Church and its holidays, only to turn around and act like everything is fine once they can actually enjoy them. You know, because it's the end of the year and everyone’s suddenly in that chill, laid-back mood...
Well, that’s exactly why it’s set up this way. It’s designed to mirror the image of an ordinary person. A worker. A farmer. It offers us comfort. And hope. It puts some color into this otherwise rotten daily grind.

But no, you lot always have to find some hidden agenda or someone's selfish interest in it. So fine, if someone else wants to invent a "better" way, some "better" story or vibe—go ahead. Nobody's stopping you. 🤷

Just remember—and I’m telling you this straight—there isn't a better way to do things. And even if some "better" alternative actually showed up, you'd just end up circling back to this exact same thing anyway.

You guys just don't get it.☕

Elizabeth Mendoza said:Well, yeah... a massive pile of atheists (and plenty of others) celebrate Christmas. What’s weird about that? We don't look at it through the lens of faith because Christmas is anything but a religious holiday.

As an atheist, I see Christmas as a holiday for eating great food and pizza, a time to hang out with friends and family, a time when I listen to..

...I hang red hats and fairy lights on the walls, treat myself and my neighbors to some nice gifts, and drop a ton of cash. It's pure commercialism, man.

For us atheists, Christmas is just a day off work. It's a commercial holiday just like Halloween. We don't give a damn—we don't work, we stay home with the family, and then we head out at night to grab drinks with the crew and mess around.

Edit: Honestly, what's better is that a huge bunch of you Catholics do the exact same thing. Instead of Jesus under the tree, there's a chocolate Santa Claus. Instead of religious hymns coming from the speakers, it's just loud music while people knock back their seventeenth beer and talk about patriotism at the table while the cleaners wash the plates that the whole Catholic crowd just smeared with lunch.

Man, that was unexpected

In Mexico, Kolinda got 40 percent 😬

Back when those leftists were busy losing everything, they actually had enough cash to go out and buy up beachfront property in Zadar and the surrounding areas. Honestly, I can't think of any other explanation.🤷
