Calling a movie by the exact same name as a major military operation is a pretty massive brain fart, you guys basically scored an own goal right out of the gate here 😵

Trash movies don't have an ounce of actual dread or real emotion. It’s like they’re intentionally making fun of their own characters, using these cheap cinematic tricks just to lean into the garbage quality. Like, you know that scene where a bear leaps fifty feet right into the back of a car, and then they slow down the footage just to crank up the screaming? Total bullshit. And the people in these flicks? They act like complete idiots during even the simplest conversations. You can just tell something is off. It feels totally fake. It’s like those animal attack horrors that didn't scare me for even one second. 🤷
Basically, you're only watching them to see how much stupidity they can actually pack into one screen.
Now, Evil Dead is grotesque as hell, but it’s got a damn good atmosphere of fear and paranoia. That’s a massive difference right there.
I caught her on the radio just once, and honestly? I couldn't even finish listening. It’s just unlistenable. You can't pull a stunt like that. At the end of the day, if you don't have the ear for it, you're out. If there was some kind of parallel to the Eurovision Song Contest—you know, like how the Golden Globes or the Oscars work—then maybe she'd be a frontrunner, but just as a little niche thing.
So I checked it out, mostly just out of curiosity since this isn't really my usual scene, and honestly? I was expecting total garbage. But man, I gotta give credit where it's due. It’s actually decent. Not because of everything else, but strictly because of the concept and how they pulled it off. This movie feels like a straight-up testament to the era we're living in right now—this weird time where we're constantly second-guessing everything and trying to scrap the old rules to write some new ones. It’s like... looking ahead ten years, if we even make it that far, I can already see us laughing at this movie. We'll look back and realize how lost we were, thinking we almost hit a dead end.
The fact that it won an Oscar just proves the point.
Honestly, looking at how everyone was acting and all that over-the-top directing, it felt like everyone else in this movie was high on coke instead of the poor bear. It’s so bad that, weirdly enough, that fact almost makes it enjoyable. I don't need much to lift my mood—just something like the mom's look, you know? That classic, total 80s bombshell vibe, that face, the party atmosphere, and that tracksuit 🙏 . I'd say the casting actually hit the mark. Those honey scenes are the highlight (especially the slaughter part). I dig how the cops and the criminals are just mindless drones—good old-fashioned clichés, right?—how the kids are irritating as hell, and man, Ray Liotta could've easily played the last Michael Myers.
Again, I'm giving it a pass solely because of that sexy mom in her jogging gear.

Yeah, exactly
this gay couple they show 🤦
one of them (the guy in the bathrobe) is basically a total mama's boy, just sitting there with this soft, innocent puppy-dog stare like some grandma from a fairy tale, practically melting like cheese whenever he looks at his partner 🤣 meanwhile the other one is this aggressive, high-strung guy who can't even hold back his rage—you know, that stereotypical look you'd spot instantly from an airplane window, just ugh, gross
and that scene in the hospital maternity ward or whatever was just as pathetic. Honestly, I just shut it off without even thinking twice...

Purpose? Give me a break. I saw where this was heading within thirty minutes. You can practically see which group is playing which role, who represents what ideology, and exactly what the conflict is about. Honestly, I just can't stomach the director's blatant bias—it feels like he's just trying to lecture me.🤷
It’s all so incredibly obvious and cheap that it actually makes my blood boil. As far as I'm concerned, the director is washed up. Period.☕

Oh, so it's "not pretentious" in its concept and execution? Fine, let me just rephrase that—it's secretly pretentious. Is that better? Does that satisfy you?
It's hard to sit through until the end, though nothing about it is actually offensive enough to make you turn it off... and technically, it's not even bad. It actually has some decent cinematography work in there.
Sure, it looks good. On almost every technical level, it’s perfectly fine. Except for the one level that actually matters. And if that part fails, the rest is just wasted effort.🤷
