Andrew Williams said:First Contact remains the absolute BEST Star Trek movie. Honestly, I can barely recall those early entries—they aren't even stocked at my local video rental shop, so I have no basis to judge them—but if you agree with me, bravo. If you don't, go jump in a vat of boiling oil.
The superior Star Trek film is Wrath of Khan. KHAN! KHAN! KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Spock: "Be careful, Jim" McCoy: "WE will!" 😂🙏
Look, I caught that too, but since I haven't actually read any Wells, I found his logic completely baffling... So, I just saw it, gave a quick laugh, and moved on...
I caught the movie today. While it’s certainly unrealistic, it doesn't cross the line into absurdity too much. It serves its purpose as entertainment, which is ultimately what matters...
Personally, I don't mind a certain degree of escapism. If we are willing to accept the existence of Captain Nemo, the Invisible Man, Dr. Jekyll, and the rest of that crowd, then accepting the idea of some outlandish technology existing in that era shouldn't be such a hurdle. The only parts that truly grated on me were those sequences involving the Nautilus in places like Venice or London.
I actually thought the dynamic of having M as the antagonist while Sean Connery plays the hero was a clever touch—though, let's be honest, that's just a bit of fun—but seeing those superhero archetypes play out worked quite well for me.
All in all, the film is great fun, and I highly recommend it. 👍 (Tom Sawyer was a bit of a nuisance, but given how much Connery dominates the screen, I suppose I can let it slide...)
If Aliens is supposed to be the mother of all Sci-Fi action movies, then her children turned out to be massive disappointments.
I mean, I was practically nodding off halfway through that film. It was boring as hell. There wasn't a single moment of genuine excitement or tension to be found....
But hey, if you want to believe otherwise, be my guest.😉
Are you still looking to place a bet? 🙂😛 Explanation: At the end of the first installment, Doc Brown materializes right in front of Marty's house and starts pouring some liquid into Mr. Fusion. 😁 He shoves him and that girl of his right into the DeLorean.
Then Marty tells him there isn't enough road to hit eighty-eight miles per hour, and this guy just hits back with: "Roads? Where we're headed, we won't even need roads." Then the DeLorean takes off in style, leaving everything behind—just like that "To be continued" teaser you see at the end of a cliffhanger. I’m honestly still not sure if they actually intended to follow through on that one. The same thing repeats itself in part two, only this time we actually get to witness that idiot Giff watching the whole spectacle unfold with his own two eyes.

Let's try to guess this movie: 1. "You are in position to demand nothing. I, on the other hand, am in position to—grant—nothing." 2. "I'm looking for the perfect f*ck" (forgive my language, and no, it isn't some pornographic or educational Swedish film or anything like that) 3. "Don't mind her. She's just upset that someone dropped a house on her sister."

Jack is.👍 He wasn't playing the Devil; he was playing Gabriel, but fine, whatever you say.
It’s absolutely top-tier. He is genuinely exceptional in any villainous role—whether you look at his work in the Blues, Batman 2, or True Romance. The man is an absolute legend. 🙂
Here is a little something from my side of the desk: 1. I'd much rather see you standing on my side, rather than being scattered into... atoms.
One that’s slightly more uplifting: 2. As long as injustice exists—whenever a Targathian infant lets out a cry, or a distress signal echoes through the stars—we will be there. This magnificent ship, this exceptional crew. We never give up... and we never surrender.
3. With skin as green as emerald... eight hundred centuries ago, their very essence gave rise to the birth of half-breeds. It was for the fundamental truth of cosmic self-determination, for the darkness that acts as the suede mowing through a harvest.
Isn't it Robocop? They don't even have all four films (probably not), though I am reasonably certain (actually, I'm positive because they recently aired Robocop on some major network, maybe HRT or wherever) that the first one was directed by Verhoeven and featured that guy named Murphy.

Isn't that something involving Doc Holliday? It certainly feels like there's a connection there—something involving a dentist or something similar. 😁) Perhaps (I'll bet) right at noon?
Titanic. I remember watching it on a school bus during a field trip to Venice years ago. Not long after that, my old man actually got an original copy of the Titanic cassette as a gift at some presentation or whatever. It goes without saying that we still haven't even unwrapped the plastic off the box, and it's been about four years now.😁

I hold you in high regard as a law enforcement officer, specifically because of your commitment to using force as a fundamental component of the profession.
Look, if you aren't on the forum, I'm not playing games with you. 😛
It isn't enough to simply possess all the knowledge in the world; the true test is whether you can actually provide me with something I don't already know. 😁
Well, I suppose someone else might have actually known. 😁
