I have absolutely no clue, so I’m just going to throw some guesses out there: 48. xXx 29. Didn't Vronsky die in some war around here in the States? 31. Did Arnold Schwarzenegger seriously star in a Western comedy?? I am genuinely curious if it was maybe something like Conan 🙂
Richard Howard2, I am going to have to strongly disagree with you on this one. What you’re saying is absolute sacrilege for any true Trekkie.
So...
Part 1 - A Masterpiece
This is about as close to the truth as you can get—it’s certainly not a masterpiece, but I’ll give it credit where it's due.
Part two—I don't quite recall the details.
I am absolutely losing my mind here. Let me be clear: The Wrath of Khan is hands down the greatest sci-fi film ever made. Richard Howard2, go back and read the manual...
Part 3 — A Masterpiece.
Hey there. Searching for Spock? There’s no Spock left in him—unless you count the director's chair. This movie is an absolute disaster.
Part 4 — A masterpiece.
As for the first installment, it isn't exactly a masterpiece, but I'd say it's a solid effort.
Part 5 is absolute garbage!
Exactly, William Shatner. He simply doesn't know. Directing.
Part 6 - Hit me with a sucker punch.
Absolutely terrible. Truly appalling. Go back and read the book, Richard Howard2. 🙂
Part 7 - highly impressive.
I am truly losing my mind here. How on earth can anyone claim that Generations is actually good? It is easily the worst entry in the entire franchise. Even the fifth installment, with the infamous William Shatner directing, doesn't even come close to competing with the absolute disaster that is this film. what are you ??
Part 8 — what on earth is going on...?
I have to say, nothing beats using a pickaxe.
Part 9 — It’s a solid start, honestly... especially for a pilot episode.
The truth is, I agree. 🙂
To ensure there are no misconceptions, I do not consider Star Wars to be science fiction. 🙂
I make it a point to always offer my seat to pregnant women, people with disabilities, the elderly, and anyone else who clearly needs it more than I do. It isn't physically taxing for me to stand up, but for them, it can be a genuine struggle.
That said, I haven’t ridden the subway in quite some time, so I can't speak to how things currently function on the ground.
Furthermore, I find the designated seating for those with disabilities to be somewhat problematic, though I personally never occupy those spots—strictly out of respect for the law.🙂
I’ve reached the conclusion that if those Aliens were stuck in a quartet, they’d dehydrate their entire lives away in about four minutes. Has anyone else noticed how the slime actually pours off them—not just slides, but literally pours?
To me, Aliens is easily the second worst in that franchise. Honestly, the movie is such an absolute mess that I struggle to understand how anyone could actually enjoy it. It’s pure nonsense. And don't even get me started on Alien 4—that one is just as bad, if not worse. Terminator 2 is definitely superior to the first installment; we'll have to see if they can pull it off with the third part. For me, Mad Max is the clear winner with the sequel, though the original holds up quite well. I think all the Star Wars films are great, but A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back still stand in a league of their own. As for The Godfather, I can't really fault them; they're all high quality. 🙂 Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom is a disaster, while the third one is fantastic and the original is perfectly solid. 🙂 Regarding Harry Potter, there is simply no way it could ever be worse than the first one.
What about Star Trek, for instance? Here is my personal ranking for the Star Trek films: The Wrath of Khan (II) The Undiscovered Country and First Contact (I can't decide between these two) (VI, VIII) The Motion Picture (I) The Voyage Home (IV) The Insurrection (how do you spell that again???) (IX) The Search for Spock (III) The Final Frontier (V) Generations (VII)
What are your thoughts? (The numbers in parentheses indicate the chronological order of the films)
That bald Frenchman with the British accent isn't even in the same league as Star Wars.
Just look back at the Generations film, where that idiot wouldn't have stood a chance without Kirk stepping in to save him.
Kirk is a total icon 🙂 And Spock is an icon too 🙂
Let’s break this down: Kirk vs Kenobi -> Kirk doesn't stand a chance (unless you count surviving three seconds longer by not ripping his shirt off)
Spock vs Yoda -> It’s a draw 🙂
Dr. Bones vs. Darth Vader LOL 😁, but seriously, who could actually take on Vader (or Yoda)? Q, well, I suppose Q might (maybe) stand a chance 🙂
Captain Jean-Luc Picard vs. Han Solo Now, this is getting complicated. There is plenty of room for debate here.
Klingon vs. Chewbacca Chewie I'm thinking Chewie would walk away with this; those Klingons don't have a prayer against him.
Borg drone vs. Clone Trooper Here is the thing: if the drone adapts to the trooper's blaster, the trooper's life just got significantly harder. If it hasn't adapted yet, then it all comes down to how good the trooper's aim is.
Tom Paris vs. Fett I might have expected this kind of take from someone else, but from you, Richard Howard2???? You're insulting the guy; Tom Paris is just a disaster.
Data vs. R2D2 and C3PO This matchup is completely unfair. Data is an Android, whereas these others are just droids (and one was built by a kid), though I still think C3PO might manage to bore him to sleep. 🙂
I think a fight between Grand Admiral Thrawn vs. Khan would be interesting. Who do you think comes out on top? And if you aren't feeling Thrawn, Grand Moff Tarkin works too—I'm not picky. 🙂
There will never be such a thing as a phaser from Star Trek
Some folks told me a phaser is just some kind of angle in a complex plane involving currents (or something along those lines), but at the end of the day, it's just an angle. So, there is absolutely no connection to actual projectiles here.😢
In my estimation, Star Wars would come out on top.
A Super Star Destroyer measures in at 7 kilometers long. No ship from Star Trek can even begin to be measured against that kind of scale. Then you have the Star Destroyers, followed by the Victory-Class Star Destroyers, the Mon Calamari Cruisers, and the Death Stars.
And let's not forget the Jedi. Frankly, a single Jedi Master could dismantle the Borg all on their own; since the Borg operate as a single collective entity, taking them down would be like a walk through the park.
(Since I don't have any VHS tapes here in Washington, D.C., and honestly, who even finds it worth buying them anymore? Movies on TV are just boring, so I don't bother watching them.)
Don't be like that. They showed The Thing by John Carpenter this past Saturday, and that movie is an absolute masterpiece.
And naturally, they played all the Star Wars films, except for Episode II.
Speaking of which, you could probably catch them at almost any time.🙂
