I get to see this elderly lady every single day—she’s way older than your mom, by the way—who’s recovering from hip surgery after a bad fall, and even though she’s moving pretty slow, she’s actually doing quite well. She walks every day now and isn't nearly as frail as she used to be. She lost a ton of weight, but honestly, her spirit is just incredible; you see her smiling more and more often lately. 🙂 Not once has she complained about the Pain.
You've just got to find some way to pull your mom out of that depression. Just give it everything you've got. I really believe her mental state is going to take a massive turn for the better once she finally gets discharged from the hospital.
Well, I don't know what else to tell you. Hang in there. Give my best to your mom; I'm rooting for her to feel better as soon as possible. 🙂
But what if you’re just plain wrong? What if you haven't actually exhausted every single avenue yet—what if instead of a thousand failed attempts, there were only 999? How can you be so certain the battle is already lost? Maybe you've lost your drive, your passion, or your energy. Fine. Maybe you're just burnt out.
The boundary is really just that tiny flicker of hope, or maybe just a stubborn desire that something might actually happen. If you aren't absolutely certain—and let's face it, you can never be truly certain—that the flame has been extinguished, then you're still right on the edge. Do you even realize what that little spark is capable of doing down the road?
Giving up can lead to a sense of relief, I suppose. That’s not necessarily a bad thing. In fact, just making the decision to quit can feel like a weight being lifted.

It’s funny how people get hung up on being different because of their political views or even just the color of their skin... If someone genuinely believes their specific faith holds some kind of monopoly on being right, then they clearly haven't actually grasped the essence of what love is all about.
👍 I don't really consider that to be true enlightenment, xara; it's more like a glimpse of it, or perhaps just one small step along the path toward actually getting there.

Nobody."
The very ground soaked up Logan’s tears. It’s still right there, and those tears haven't stopped stinging. They sting us, too. So, really, does it even matter if anyone shows up to weep for Logan? The earth itself will do the mourning.
What’s a few extra pounds, really? A couple of kilos isn't exactly a crisis, especially since my body type means it wouldn't even end up in my chest area anyway.😎 But honestly, I haven't moved from the fridge all day. It was just one thing after another—one minute I wanted something sweet, then suddenly it had to be salty, then cold, then more of everything. It was endless. Just awful. By the way, I really should quit smoking, though I have zero interest in gaining weight in the process.
I’m telling you—just quit cold turkey right now. If you wait, it’s going to be a hell of a lot harder later on. I actually tried to kick the habit once, just for a few days. 😁 I was hungry all the time, like, insanely hungry; honestly, even those intense cravings you get during PMS don't even come close to comparing to that feeling. It was brutal. And what happened? I ended up right back at it. 🙄 😁
I think you might be off base here, though maybe it’s just a matter of how we’re framing things. If you’re suggesting we carry these ancient, ancestral memories within us, I can see the logic there, even if we haven't quite figured out how to decode them yet. It’s the kind of thing etched into our DNA and our very souls, all tangled up together with the world around us. That interconnectedness is what makes us individuals while simultaneously tying us to everything else in existence. Now, one could certainly get into a deep dive regarding spiritual mysteries or debate whether the "blueprint" is more genetic or soulful, but I don't think we're really looking at the same map here... To be perfectly honest, what you’ve laid out doesn't strike me as particularly spiritual. Sorry.
Cream mixed with some Gavin Newsom. I don't really know if Gavin Newsom is actually any good or what his deal is, but honestly, it worked for me, even though my scar wasn't exactly massive. You might want to check out some local herbal apothecaries. I've heard through the grapevine that calendula can do wonders too.
The creams mentioned here are meant for topical application on recent scars—if you're looking to "smooth things out," and I mean really smooth them out, as Kenneth Hernandez67 puts it.
I’ve tried just about everything under the sun. But honestly, I always end up circling back to painkillers. 😁 Among all the different things I've experimented with, they’re just the simplest option for me. It’s really the only way I manage to get through it, especially since I usually get hit by two distinct "waves" during those five or six days. It’s enough to drive anyone absolutely crazy.😠
So, basically, I was wondering if it's actually possible to wear a tampon even when you don't have much flow going on?
Sure, you can, though it might be a bit of a struggle, honestly, and taking it out when things are dry isn't exactly the most pleasant experience, so maybe just try doing it once without any flow and see how it feels for yourself.😎 Though, I have to say, I'm genuinely stumped as to why anyone would bother putting a tampon in if they aren't even bleeding.
I'm also curious about bathroom breaks... do I need to swap in a new tampon every single time I go? I assume that's the case since I'm certainly not putting the old one back in, but I figured I'd ask just to be sure...
Put it back in? Are you kidding me?!? You change it and just make sure you have some wet wipes handy if you're out and about, because I highly doubt you're running to the restroom every fifteen minutes.
And I know tampons need changing more often than pads, but does that rule still apply if my period is light? Also, is it okay to pop a tampon in around 8 PM and just leave it there until about 4 or 5 in the morning?
Jack said:Take a scenario where a guy sleeps with a girl, just a one-night stand, for instance. Then the next morning, she claims he forced himself on her, while he’s standing there insisting everything was consensual. Who is a neutral observer supposed to believe in a mess like that?
If you lay it out exactly like that, I think I’d actually lean toward believing him.
But the way you titled this thread—Rape: Fact or Fiction—makes it sound like you’re making a broader point about the whole issue. And if we’re talking generally, there isn't much ambiguity to discuss here. It is easily one of the most horrific crimes out there. It's also a total myth that these people get heavy sentences; maybe in some other country, but here in the States, if you look at the local crime news, you'll see some creep assaults a young woman and ends up getting nothing more than four years. It’s honestly disgusting.
Jack said:But seriously, how can you actually be certain enough to label a specific sexual encounter as violent—you know, as rape? How does one reach absolute certainty that one person didn't want to be part of the act at all?
I honestly find it baffling that anyone would even pose a question like this, because if you’re sitting there having these kinds of doubts, you’ve already got a massive problem on your hands.
Give me a break. Honestly, if you want to know my first impression of you, it’s this: when I started reading your posts, I was convinced you were just some high schooler. I didn't believe it at first; I genuinely thought someone was playing a prank on us. It felt surreal that someone so young could possess such an incredible amount of inner depth, knowledge, and insight—it almost felt like actual life experience. Honey, you’re going to spend your whole life feeling like a misfit because you’re just too sharp for your own good. Most people aren't going to get you, and the truth is, you’ll probably never truly understand them either. You just have to learn how to live with that. I mean that with complete sincerity. I actually thought about sending you a private message, but I decided against it; people tend to dump their deepest, most private anxieties here anyway. I wish you nothing but the best, because you're definitely going to need it.🙂
