1. Winter, snow, ice, black ice everywhere. We’re walking side by side, I slip on a patch of ice, and instead of catching me—he just steps back to avoid the mess. 🙂 2. During my first visit to his place, he suddenly decides to start showing me photos of all his exes posing in lingerie. Just because. 🙂 3. I’d been spotting him around town for a while before we actually met. When the moment finally came, he reached out for a handshake and gave me the most pathetic, overly mushy, "wet noodle" grip I've ever experienced. Instant dealbreaker. 🙂
It’s a good thing you added that second sentence, Samuel Murphy6; I was actually starting to get a little worried there.. 🙂 I’m honestly relieved to see I’m not the only one who isn't exactly jumping for joy over Mozilla.. +My apologies for the OT, I won't let it happen again. If this were Reddit, I probably would have lost my head and my fingers by now.. 😬
Alright, but what am I actually doing wrong here? I followed the manual to a T, installed all those ridiculous plugins, and yet I’m still stuck. I have no idea what else is left to try... 😕
@ lale - To me, trying to hide my identity seems pretty pointless, especially in a place like this. It's not like I'm out here making threats or attacking anyone. Honestly, the only person who should be worried is spider-man... 😈
Nicholas Perez33 said:Then you should have just written "The band [Band Name] concert," 😁 instead of leaving me wondering what the hell those quotation marks were 😵 doing there.
I was trying to avoid it because it sounds incredibly clumsy... honestly, I thought you were mocking me. Besides, Ivana is easy enough to work with, Kevin Chavez3 😉 (though Karen Doyle2 is actually quite charming... 😍).
On a side note, Birc is open; they moved the ticket booth, so the band will be set up right where the tables used to be. I can't really wrap my head around how many people are going to show up or if it’ll be a total squeeze, though. It isn't exactly a massive venue.
OT—this is my first time using Mozilla and I’m not feeling it at all. It feels sluggish, the mouse scroll is acting up, and even the emojis are stuttering weirdly. 😁
Honestly, what can I even say to you people... 🙂 Don't go trying to throw me off my game... In "the concert", they had a session musician playing who actually handled the violin tracks on the studio album—not sure if that clears things up for you.
🤔 Are you actually kidding me right now? They’re calling it a "concert" now? I honestly thought I made it perfectly clear in my previous posts and even in the thread title itself... 🙂
Drew Sanders7 said:Orlan is the king, the Concert is great, but why does the CD say Possession?
Look, it’s a bit of a mess. For years, they went by Mika Small. Then Nix temporarily rebranded them as Orlan Tus, before they eventually voted on "Possession" as their permanent name. Eventually, Orlan just got fed up with the whole thing and decided he wanted the band to be called Concert instead. Personally, I think "Possession" is the worst name out of all four options, but I’m still counting down the hours until today's show... 🙂
Nicholas Perez33 said:to sounds like an acoustic rendition of Rundek mixed with Pips
Well, bravo. Exactly. That’s what I was looking for. 👍 So, imagine Rundek meeting Arsen without the Pips influence. They don't really fit into that specific niche... I'll try to upload something to the shared drive tomorrow, though I can't make any promises. I haven't actually done this before. 😳
boldscout72 said:They’re my good friends and I love them dearly.
I know the type, especially one group that's strictly instrumental... 😉 :small town vibe: 😬 So, can you actually describe them?
Honestly, I haven't a clue... The singer has this deep, baritone voice, sings in English, and plays guitar. There's a girl handling the violin and flute while singing too, plus a bassist and a drummer. It's just light, acoustic, easy-listening stuff.
So, just to clarify: I used quotation marks because the band’s name is actually "Concert"—they used to go by Mika Male or Orlan Tus. 🙂
I won't go into too much detail here because I don't want to misrepresent them, but I’m extending an invitation to everyone to catch their show in the lobby of the Film Society over on Main Street starting at 9 PM. They’re based out of Chicago, and the last time I caught them, they were playing a small spot called The Butterfly. Since then, they’ve dropped what is easily the most surprising album I’ve heard in quite some time. It’s hard to pin down a comparison. If I had to, I’d say they have the spirit of Bruce Springsteen mixed with something akin to The Beach Boys—but in the most positive sense imaginable. There's a certain light following them... 🙂

Honestly, I can’t even begin to wrap my head around that kind of pain. It’s all just thin skin and bone right there. Just... ugh. 😲 Though, apparently, the worst part is when it hits the joints—elbows, knees, ankles.
As for those Star Wars movies, they are just plain terrible. It isn't just the subject matter; it's the execution. Everything feels so rushed and incredibly stupid. It’s as if nobody bothered to sit down beforehand and actually coordinate how to pull it off properly. 🙄
stormywolf39 said:I still haven't found that one guy who turned George Washington into a total jokeby basically covering his entire back in... well, you know.
Heh, interesting thought. 🙂 I have this friend—a bit of a heavy-set guy—who has this tattoo on his side, right near his stomach. It’s just a tiny little thumb, like the one you see on those inflatable beach balls. It actually looks pretty hilarious when he sits down and his belly folds over it... 😁
I used to be quite fond of Bruce Springsteen back in the day. I spent hours recording his tracks on the radio, frantically trying to scribble down the lyrics. I’d give anything to dig up my old notebooks just to see how I interpreted his poetry back then... 😵
By the way, I hit "resize" on those photos in my last post, but for some reason, they didn't shrink. My apologies; I'm clearly a tech novice when it comes to this stuff. 😳
Kevin Chavez3 said:... and honestly, this version is way funnier than what was on the blog. Adding that concept makes all the difference compared to just a photo. I always figured Karen Doyle2 was the type of girl to lean into that whole "I loved him before he was famous" cliché... 😈
Good grief! 🙂 I wasn't quite sure how to mention that I'd already spotted this (especially since it vanished 😕 after a while), but it felt like such a "perfect little touch"... The layout turned out great, too. If you end up doing something similar, you might want to tuck this right into the book...
What are you even talking about? I spent so much time listening to the "God's Money" album that I basically built them up in my head as some kind of divine phenomenon. I kept imagining a stage packed with ten total weirdos, but instead, they turned out to be surprisingly decent performers. Honestly, I was half-convinced the vocals were just a sample they’d loop live at the show... And as for Thomas, he didn't crack a smile once during the entire set—I have no idea where you got that impression. If anything, I found him more relatable when he was just sitting there in front of the underground dance scene with his head between his knees... 😬
Look, I’m not trying to be overly harsh on the DJ, but honestly? He played the absolute worst track from Neutral Milk Hotel. 😠 Luckily, I was occupied in the restroom during that particular disaster. Plus, I finally got to meet Elvis in person—he’s actually much more charming in real life than he is through a screen. 👋
