😁 I’ve got a pile of them too, and I still can't fathom what kind of force would be required to cause that kind of damage. There isn't a conscious bone in my body that could pull off something like that. I'm blaming my younger sister.🙂 The most absurd part? A couple of them actually play fine; you just have to skip over that one scratched section...😵

🤣 Oh, absolutely... and frankly, it was about time. At first, I found them somewhat charming, then they just became tedious, but now? Now it’s completely crossed the line. It’s all the fault of those damn posers. They aren't even "alternative" anymore—not what they used to be. 🙄
👋 This is my third time checking this out! Honestly, why isn't there more of that certain... vibe? 😢 I didn't really catch anything particularly over-the-top here. I might have said that about the other guy standing behind—you know, the one who looked like an octopus? He looked like he just stepped straight out of an episode of *Oz* wearing that white undershirt, but even then, he had a certain sweetness about him (total vanilla 🙂 )...

1. On the interstate right where everything turns yellow and there’s some name tied to lamb chops. 2. The exact same thing, just on the other side of the highway.
They have those two exits, I think they're called "Exit Left" and "Exit Right"... I always found that hilarious. 😁 Also, I'll eat just about anything dairy-based except for kefir; that stuff is just not for me. Plus, I can't stand all that nonsense packaged in tiny little bottles—half of it stays stuck to the inside, so then I have to tap the bottle, smear it on my nose, stumble down the sidewalk while doing it, and deal with the bewildered stares of everyone walking by. 😠 Especially those pathetic little 6-ounce or 10-ounce portions. What a complete waste of money, packaging, and sanity. 😠 😠
No, no... 🙂 I still can't bring myself to agree with you, but fine, have it your way. Honestly? I don't think I could sit through that movie one more time just to try and find those "profound depths" everyone keeps talking about.😉

🙂 I suppose I’m allowed to speak my mind around here, isn't that right? Give me one shred of a logical argument for why anyone would waste two hours staring at that. It’s tedious, sluggish, unconvincing, and reeks of pretension. Honestly, it feels less like a historical epic and more like a glorified commercial for a cigarette brand or maybe some overpriced hair gel. If you think you can just throw punches without consequence, don't be surprised when I start swinging back.
Dead Carrot said:I'm expanding my list to eight films: 4. The Blues 😬 6. Good Night, and Good Luck
Personally, I find both of those pretty lackluster and frankly tedious—especially anything involving George Clooney. 🙂 I’d much rather save my cash for *You and Me and Everyone We Know*, which is an absolute masterpiece. Besides, the Iranian film week kicks off tomorrow at the local independent cinema, and admission is free... 👋 www.indie-film-listings.com 😉
Here’s one of mine: Mercury Rev - A Goddess on a Highway... to me, it just feels incredibly sappy. + I actually loved the fact that until recently, I was convinced the lyrics went something like: "I got us on a highway, I got us in a car, I got us going faster than she's ever gone before..." It wouldn't have been all that illogical, either. 😁
Honestly, I had an absolute blast yesterday too... though I’m still struggling to decide which act actually won me over. Both bands were incredible—👍, plus the orange group was 🙏 and 🙂 . + I have to give a shoutout to the sound quality, and a massive thank you to all the tall folks in the crowd. Because of them, my view was basically just a sea of orange heads and Lilywhite’s hair whenever anyone tried to jump. Also, kudos to the smokers who managed to light up in such a cramped, suffocating space... 😠 . ++ A little bathroom anecdote for you: right after Man Zero finished, two girls were dissecting the set. One of them goes, "They were so boring, and honestly, that didn't even sound like ambient psychobilly..." 🤣 Maybe that "Elvis" bit threw her off... 🙂
I have to get this off my chest..: The three fastest ways to lose all feelings for someone: 1. Winter, ice, everything slippery. We’re walking side by side, chatting away, we hit that steep hill near the marshlands, I slip, and he—he actually steps back to avoid getting caught in the mess!! 🙂 2. We’re catching up on the phone after not seeing each other for a while, and out of nowhere he drops this: "Man, if I had wings right now, I’d fly straight to you..." :cringe:🙂 3. I overheard him hitting on—and let's be honest, objectively mediocre—some girl at a party with the line: "Have you noticed how we're the only two people here who actually have any style?" Well, damn. If that's his priority in life, then.. he's banned. 😠
Carol Jackson45 said:I can't quite wrap my head around the name... what was that specific zipper fastener and bracelet combo called? It had some kind of tiny little computer or device embedded right in the bracelet itself.
Yeah, I loved that show too. The device was called a transducer—it moved things just by sheer willpower—and he wore this "computer companion" bracelet that the girl nicknamed PJ. Honestly, I remember it like it was yesterday. 🙂 I have this one specific scene burned into my brain. You know the one—early on, the main girl's friend shows up with this bright pink hair. Then she steps under that ultrasonic shower, and it just strips the color right off her, leaving her with this dull, light brown look. It was such a striking moment. I have a tendency to remember the strange things. Oddities tend to stick with me.

Alright, I’ll be just as bold. 😳
4. Adrien Brody
Oh, absolutely.. 😍 😍 As for the women, right now it's Jennifer Connelly.. especially in Requiem for a Dream. I have no patience for that stick-thin, flat-chested look.. 😠 Plus, Heather Graham was absolutely lovely in the New York Times yesterday. And Penelope Cruz is incredibly charming.. The men will get their turn in the spotlight next time.. 🙂
Susan Clark10 said:anyway, what do you call the quad? 😬
Look, a quad is a quad, and a plaza is a plaza. But the term "depot" has always tripped me up. I’ve actually managed to agree to meet people "at the depot" only to end up wandering over to a completely different part of town. It's a classic case of linguistic ambiguity. Now I'm second-guessing myself again... is the "depot" referring to downtown or the outskirts?😵
Back to the movie... I was chatting yesterday with a guy who works over at JPMorgan, and he mentioned they actually filmed some scenes right there in their office. He said it looks just like that, though maybe not quite that blindingly white and pristine. He admitted himself that his actual daily reality isn't nearly that glamorous. I suppose when you didn't grow up with parents who thought a single wall was an oversized window, you develop a different perspective on luxury. Matanic was simply trying to emphasize how Kreso transitioned from a state of absolute perfection into such a complete mess... +And honestly, I’d be right to claim I’m a "victim of the 9/11 era," even though I've lived my entire life in Chicago... 😕 ++Nina Violic really needs 🙂
Nicholas Perez33 said:Yeah. In the garbage sense. 😬
No, it’s more that I can't stand those comparisons, like: "It’s not bad for an American movie." It’s either good or it’s bad. Period. It shouldn't matter what country it comes from. Those kinds of excuses just don't hold water. It's as if we lack the imagination or the talent to produce quality cinema—which isn't what I mean by a high budget, by the way—so we just let mediocre stuff slide through because of some misplaced sense of patriotism. ..

The greatest movie ever made:
I Love You (Matanić) 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏
If anyone actually caught a copy of this, hit me up via DM. I’m willing to pay well!
Oh, right... 😍 😍 Mikic is a legend... 🙂 I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve said he’s our finest young actor... But Matanić went a bit overboard this time. That intro and the way they depicted so-called "Japan" was totally unnecessary, even if it was interesting for an it’s such a shame I have to resort to my lowest tactics American film... He managed to pull it off in the end, though. I recorded it, but on an old VHS tape—not sure how I’d even begin to teleport that to you...
Susan Clark10 said:Those Ferrero Rocher chocolates with coffee? Absolutely divine.🙂 I usually find a few scattered at the bottom of my candy jar—sort of like finding a stray twenty in an old coat pocket.
👍 Thanks a million. I’ll be heading there first thing tomorrow morning. There's nothing quite like that caffeine-and-chocolate kickstart to get the gears turning... honestly, life doesn't get much better than that.🙂
+regarding: "..airplane, airplane, throw me a bonbon" — I actually got a C on a quiz back in first grade because of that, and trust me, I haven't forgotten it since.😉
