I got my referral for an appointment at Johns Hopkins Hospital back in March.
The two phone numbers they gave for central scheduling just don't pick up.
You have to email a photo of the referral instead.
So, I sent it off.
They scheduled me for September of this year.
Now I’m reading that these referrals actually expire after three months.

I’m guessing most of us are working from home now,
so this rule applies to any building over 50 square meters (basically anything bigger than a tiny studio)
the deadline for owners is January 1st, 2016.

Long live Europe!
Yeah, I definitely have to

Honestly, if a nurse prescribed my husband a menu like that, he’d be asking her out on a date in a heartbeat.
I have a CT scan scheduled, and they told me that for the day before, I should only eat
meat and potatoes, then show up fasting the next morning for the imaging

Does anyone know if it's actually okay to just stick to meat and potatoes the day before?
Honestly, I'm dreading it. How am I supposed to get through the day without my morning coffee, or even just a little salad?

Thanks
Just got my thyroid blood work back

The IRS website is down for maintenance today!
I was naive enough to think I could check something real quick, but no luck.
It just says they don't operate on Sundays.
Robin Gray8 said:If you need thyroid hormone tests, you can just head over to St. Spirit Hospital. No appointment needed if you go on a Monday, and you'll have your results by Friday that same week. If you go any other day, you'll get them the following Friday.
Just show up at the hospital entrance, and there’s a lab right across the street where you can get your blood drawn.

Thanks a ton.
I’ve got a referral for thyroid blood work
I emailed the scheduling department at Vinogradska Hospital today
and they gave me an appointment for April 26th🙄
I checked with a private lab and they want $80
but I just don't have that kind of money to burn
Does anyone know if the wait times are shorter at any other hospital?
Any ideas?

Wondering if it's the flu or maybe an adenovirus since the flu is going around everywhere lately...

That’s a spot-on description of the symptoms. Headaches, high fever, coughing like crazy.
I had to take my little toddler out for a quick walk just to go potty.
But I ended up wrapping myself in a scarf like I was wearing a burqa because I felt so dizzy.

Someone sneezed in my elevator and now half the office is down with a fever between 99 and 102.
Headaches, sinus pressure...
It would be fine if my husband hadn't caught it too; he walked through the door and started sneezing like crazy.
Now we're just passing around thermometers, lemon water, tea, Advil, and throat lozenges.
Luckily, our dog hasn't caught anything.
But he won't go for walks by himself anymore.
Rušinović was my family gynecologist back when he worked at the Mayo Clinic, before he opened his own practice near Miami Beach and later moved down by the Potomac. He passed away a few years ago.
I was pretty blindsided when menopause hit me so early on. I talked it over with my family and friends, then went to the Mayo Clinic to get my hormone levels checked. An ultrasound ended up showing two fibroids I didn't even know I had. The doctor actually suggested a hysterectomy, which totally shocked me—especially since he made this comment about how American women just jump at the chance to do that once they decide they're done having kids. (Those women were never my role models!) I figured if removing the uterus was truly the best move, nature would have just phased it out during my last period anyway. He also claimed it would make managing my hormone therapy easier afterward. It felt weird because those fibroids never caused me any issues. He told me to come back in three months to see if they grew, but he still pushed for the surgery. When I finally got to the hospital, the surgeon who saw me before the procedure told me the operation wasn't even necessary and that I just needed regular checkups. My top gynecologist prescribed Trisequens, if I remember right, though I read those can actually cause fibroids to grow initially.
I struggled with hot flashes for a while until I read that cutting out sugar and sticking to light meals and veggies helps. That was ten years ago, and honestly, 🙂
I think the pharmaceutical industry has a massive vested interest in hormone therapy, especially since I read online that most educated women in developed nations choose not to use them.
I saw Rušinović when I was 43, and he mentioned this is becoming much more common—women are starting menopause earlier, sometimes as young as 37.
In my family, it’s definitely genetic; I actually hit it two years before my mom and sister did.
I decided against hormone therapy because, honestly, I just don't care about all that.
I’ve put on some weight, but what can you do? I love to eat, especially sweets...

Mine started back in elementary school too.
I didn't have any visible swelling in my hands, but every single joint would ache and throb. It comes and goes.
My doctor told me it runs in the family.
About a year ago, my thumb just locked up, and nothing from my tests helped at all.
Then I tried taking one Vitamin E tablet every day.
I'd take them for a bit, pause for a month or two, and then start again. After a week of that, my thumb felt normal.
The internet was a huge help for me—sites like WebMD and various rheumatology forums.
Struggling to sleep? Any tips? in Health ·
I usually sleep like a log, but lately I’ve been crashing for an hour or two and then just staring at the ceiling until dawn. It’s exhausting. 🙄

I think the weather might be messing with me, since I've heard a few other people complaining about the same thing.

It started with my husband telling me I was coming down with something, but my fever hasn't broken, so now I've moved on to playing the piano instead.
My sister walked too much and ended up with pneumonia.😳

The nights are the worst: the second I lie down, I start coughing like crazy.
Even Advil and honey don't do a thing—nothing works!
Everything is just going downhill.

My doctor told me yesterday that everyone seems to be getting sick right now.
