Adexa isn't even close to being that much. 🙂 Right now, the price is around $17—don't quote me on that, but my brain keeps telling me it’s closer to $16. It’s just a tiny bit cheaper if you go with the three-month supply.
I totally hear you. 🙂 It’s honestly such a relief that you’ve got your guy by your side—having someone you can actually lean on makes everything feel a little less heavy. And hey, getting active again? That is a killer idea... it really does help pull you out of those depressive slumps. 👍 We all go through those seasons where life just decides to kick us while we're down—some people hit it harder than others—so I'm really pulling for you to feel better soon. And if things don't turn around quickly, I'm sure a pro could help get you back on track pretty easily. 🙂
I guess I’m reading this as them being potentially carcinogenic—not saying they definitely cause it, but like... besides just the hormone levels and all that, there are probably other factors making breast cancer more common in women who use OC.
Jessica Long48 said:Once something has been classified as carcinogenic by the World Health Organization, it is highly unlikely that such a finding will be easily overturned. Unfortunately, all subsequent research from that point until today—conducted by various other organizations—has failed to refute it. You are welcome to verify this yourselves. In fact, an increasing number of studies continue to confirm these findings. To avoid being overly pedantic, the specific data regarding contraceptive pills was once again validated in 2012. (Refer to the second PDF, page 2, under the "estrogen" section for the year). If that qualifies as "recent" enough for the WHO, then it certainly suffices for my purposes.
Refined sugar is harmful. Birth control pills are carcinogenic. This isn't a matter of shifting scientific debate; it is a fact confirmed by the coordinating body of international public health. We aren't talking about some anecdotal "study" sponsored by Big Pharma based on a sample size of 1,000 people.
I also believe everyone understands that they are not exactly healthy options (they have side effects, certainly, but cancer is not quite the same thing as anxiety or a drop in libido) . However, has any woman here, or anywhere else, had a gynecologist tell her that birth control pills are proven carcinogens for humans—not "likely" or "possibly" carcinogenic, but proven to be carcinogenic—and that there is a legitimate risk of developing breast cancer from consuming them?
I am not attempting to impose my own opinion, of course; it is entirely up to each individual to make their own choice. But I have observed that many gynecologists tend to omit critical information like this. How can one properly weigh the scales and reach an informed decision if the weights are only placed on one side?
The objective of my post is not to promote anything, but rather to present data that neither I nor the women in my immediate circle have heard mentioned—let alone emphasized—by any physician, despite its life-altering importance.
I think you might have missed my point a little—I didn't say they weren't carcinogenic (if you look back, I said they were harmful, which is why I used that term in response to your post), but obviously, not every single study shows the exact same results.
As for gynecologists... I don't know if they're telling girls about the risks, but most of the info is right there in the instruction leaflets anyway, so women can check for themselves how much risk they're taking and decide if it's worth it. I just hope most people are capable enough to do their own digging and figure out if the trade-off is acceptable. 🤷
Edit—I'm doing a bit of digging right now and, given the sheer volume of research, it's hard to boil everything down, but it's not all bad news 😳ptimist: 😬 because some studies actually show that birth control can lower the risk of certain types of cancer. So, I guess it's just about weighing the pros and cons to see what's better.
Matthew Adams4 said:Damn 😠 it’s depressing seeing my pills end up in the same pile as those they mentioned (Yasmin). Does anyone know if there's actual data comparing breast cancer rates between people on OC versus those who aren't?
Did you check the fine print on the packaging? Mine are for low hormone levels and the instructions say: Out of every 10,000 women who have never taken Adex or other oral contraceptives, roughly 16 will develop breast cancer by age 35. For 10,000 women who used Adex or other oral contraceptives for five years during their early twenties, about 17-18 will develop breast cancer by age 35. Out of 10,000 women who have never used Adex or other oral contraceptives, approximately 100 will develop breast cancer by age 45. For 10,000 women who used Adex or other oral contraceptives for five years in their early thirties, about 110 will develop breast cancer by age 45. Breast cancer risk increases if: * someone in your immediate family (mother, sister, or grandmother) had breast cancer * you are overweight.
It’s great to be asking questions, honestly—but maybe try digging into some more recent literature too. A lot has shifted in the field over the last decade... 🍿 I mean, yeah, I think most people realize that pills come with risks (and it really depends on the specific study and what you're looking at), so it's basically up to the individual to weigh the pros and cons before deciding if they want to go that route or not... 🙂
Since these symptoms seem to be hitting you in waves like that—have you thought about maybe talking to someone about it? 🙂 I’m not sure if you're in school or anything, but most colleges have some kind of counseling center on campus... or you could just hit up your family doctor to get a referral. Maybe you just need to vent about what's bothering you, or maybe it's something more physical, like getting some blood work done or checking your thyroid levels... or even just switching up your birth control pill...
So... did all these symptoms—like the mood swings—start right when you began taking the pill, or...? It sounds a little heavy, honestly—maybe it’s not just the hormones from the pill talking. 🤔
Hey guys, when you all started working on your posture, did your shoulders start acting up? 🤔 I feel like my shoulders have been rolled inward for way too long—now, every time I remember to actually sit up straight (you know, pulling them back properly), they start aching. It’s weird... if I slouch again, the pain just vanishes. But the second I try to fix it, it feels like everything is just tightening up... 🤷
I think spotting gets brought up as a possible side effect whenever you're messing around with pills—at least if I read the instructions right. Though, obviously, it doesn't have to happen at all...
Wait, did you guys see that? Seriously. My heart is still racing. Just when you think things are settling down, boom—total chaos. It’s wild how fast everything changes. Honestly, I’m just sitting here trying to process it all. Anyone else feeling this way or is it just me? Unbelievable. kaže: I think it’s enough to just skip the break after this pack and jump straight into a new one. And, from what I know, you won't even need extra protection since you're on the pill the whole time anyway. 🙂
I thought about it, but then my period's gonna show up a week earlier next month (once this new pack kicks in), and that’s just not happening. It'll clash with stuff I've already got scheduled, and honestly, I can't deal with that mess. Honestly, if there’s any way to pull it off, I’d rather just push it back a week. Like, if it's even possible to get her a week later than planned, that would be huge. 🕺
Oops, my bad. Totally misread that—I thought you were saying you wanted the week to start early today... 🙈
Honestly, the only thing crossing my mind right now is that you should probably just extend your break for another week... maybe give yourself some breathing room... 🤔 I mean, I don't even know how smart that move is—and honestly, you’d probably need extra protection anyway. Maybe just check in with a gynecologist first?...
I think it’s enough to just skip the break after this pack and jump straight into the next one—you know? And, from what I gather, you won't even need extra protection since you're on the pill the whole time anyway... 🙂
Everything went fine for me, but honestly, looking back now... I don't know if I'd have the guts to go through it all again. :kukavica: It actually wasn't even that painful—I handled both the surgery and the recovery like a champ... but I just get this feeling that if I had to do it today, I'd be panicking way more. I'd probably be expecting the worst, so it wouldn't just be the money that's an issue, but my head wouldn't be in the right place for another procedure either. 😬
Oh, really? Everything went pretty smoothly for me. Honestly, the most traumatic part was getting the stitches out because it stung just a tiny bit—but even then, it wasn't exactly a nightmare... 🤷
Why is everyone so obsessed with mouth breathing? 🤔 I mean, how else do you breathe when you've got a nasty cold or the flu and your nose is totally plugged up? If it helps anyone, I slept like a baby 😬, mouth breathing and all—I just kept some ChapStick and water nearby and was totally fine. 🙂
P.S. They took mine out on day 3 (if you count the surgery day as day one, so basically about 48 hours with the packing in there).
I don't think there's a strict time limit for the surgery (I mean, it's definitely not gonna drag on for five hours 😬), but honestly, it just depends on how much they have to do. Mine only took about two hours—they used local anesthesia with some extra help—and everything went totally smooth...
Honestly, I’m kind of dying to know how they can pull that off in just 10 minutes? 🤔 I don't really follow the medical side of things, but my last surgery went on for two whole hours... I'm assuming the procedure is basically the same—they probably have to "open up" the nose again (depending on which technique the surgeon uses, right?) to get rid of this new bump. It’s smaller than before, sure, but it doesn't feel like such a tiny job to me...
Someone who's actually been through this or heard the scoop, please set me straight. 🤷
Eh... I think I'm going to hold off for now—I just don't have the headspace or the time to deal with another surgery. Plus, I probably wouldn't want to deal with the bill again, which is definitely not in my budget right now... 🙂 I'd rather just wait it out for a bit and see if that lump gets more noticeable before I commit to anything. Oh well...
Let me know what the doctor says if you end up giving them a call. 🙂
stormyharbor2, I think we’re in pretty much the same boat since we didn't end up seeing the same surgeon. Lately, I've been noticing this tiny little bump on one side of my nose that definitely wasn't there right after the surgery. It shows up when I'm looking at myself from a certain angle, but then disappears from the other... weird, right? And yeah, I get that things are still better than they were before, but honestly—just like you said—I didn't drop that kind of cash just to have a bump pop up two years later... who knows how it's even going to look in another few years... 😢
Jerry Clark said:Hey, has anyone dealt with their period coming early while on the pill?
Here's the deal: I'm on Lyndinette 30 and my last pill is this Sunday—so I should be getting my period next Wednesday, right? Well, I've had this light spotting for five days now. At first, I just figured it was typical breakthrough bleeding... but then it turned into a full-on heavy flow. Started cramping yesterday too, so yeah, feels like the real deal.
Honestly, I’m lost. The only thing I can think of is linking this to my diet and workout routine—I've dropped 5 kg in the last 8 days. Anyone else ever gone through something like this?
5 lbs in 8 days? 😲 That sounds like it could definitely be the culprit—though usually, symptoms from losing weight that fast show up as a missed period rather than an early one... but who knows.🤔
I haven't been on the pill for that long—only about a year—but my OB-GYN warned me at the start that after taking them for a few years, things can get weird. Like, you might bleed mid-pack or skip a month entirely. Maybe that's just what's happening with you.
