You forgot about Tupperware.
I’m honestly not a huge fan. The containers looked amazing when I first got them, but after all these years, they’re kind of a disaster. They were pretty pricey too, so I feel bad tossing them, but I probably should...
There are some Avon products I'd totally buy in a regular store if they actually carried them..
I'm happy with my Tupperware too...
Benjamin Murphy2, I feel like maybe your practical psychology skills could use a little boost🙂
You should probably work on that, along with your written communication. Honestly, people on these forums can be pretty annoying sometimes, so that’s just how it goes.
I'm sure you're a great doctor, but you might be even better if you just remember to treat us patients like actual people looking for help, rather than just being a nuisance...😘

Maybe try alternating between hot and cold water in the shower

I guess you might actually see some results if you're younger...
Skin should basically just renew itself naturally over time, I suppose. But honestly, I think massages and working out are probably the most important parts. Maybe using those facial rollers too, or even dry brushing before you hop in the shower—it’s all about getting that circulation going, I guess.

Stopped by DM today. I think they have some Reese stuff out—they used to just do hair care, but now they've got body products too—for firmer skin $17

I guess you shouldn't have rushed the weight loss so fast. Maybe it helps to pamper yourself with some massages while you're at it... and definitely don't skip the workouts!
Just use any body lotion you've got lying around. I feel like those fancy firming creams are way overpriced and probably work just as well as the generic stuff from Target..
Personally, I think olive or almond oil works pretty great too.

Betty Patel17, sorry, I'm just saying what I saw. They were hanging on the racks when I walked in, and since I'm not from around here, I figured the other styles had already sold out. Anyway, they probably have some in stock (though maybe not every single style), but you should probably check when their next shipment arrives..

You can find some stuff at the Marks & Spencer over by the waterfront—it goes up to size 22 (which I think is about a US 18, if I'm guessing right)—and you might actually snag a decent piece of clothing without breaking the bank too much

Yeah, I'm totally with you on that..

Even herbal teas can be a bit sketchy sometimes, I guess. I've definitely learned that from experience...

Maybe just 2 tablets a day, or you can grab those capsules with St. John's Wort instead

I saw some earplugs over at the Turbo grinder.. I guess they might be okay, but I'm not really sure if they'll work for you..
OB/GYN Discussion Thread in Women's Health ·
So, my OB-GYN sent me off for some tests. I guess she’s got a temp covering her while she’s out on maternity leave, so now we're just stuck waiting on those referrals to come through... maybe?
Co-pays for specialized healthcare at places like the VA or private clinics usually hover around 15% of the total bill based on what Medicare or insurance sets, which I guess isn't exactly a ton of money.

Maybe we should just scrap those 24-hour shifts and let doctors work regular rotations instead. I mean, I guess nobody's really built to stay on call for 24 hours straight. Plus, if they're trying to catch some sleep during a shift, you probably shouldn't be waking them up anyway...
If it actually worked, everyone would be ripped... not just Schwarzenegger..
i guess i agree it feels like they're just selling smoke right now. maybe something will come of it later, but for now, they're probably just cashing in.

From what I know, VirusCom tablets work pretty well for herpes. As for Vitamin C, maybe just grab an electric juicer and squeeze out an orange twice a day? You could just eat them instead, but I guess I just love fresh juice, so I prefer squeezing them.
A few years back, I did a course of VirusCom, and I haven't had any outbreaks since—even though I used to get them on my lips all the time. I also changed up my diet a bit, eating lots of garlic and olive oil, mostly steamed veggies, and really little meat... plus some exercise—I'm doing Pilates now.
Thermometers in Health ·
Justin Anderson4 said:Personally, if I have like a 99.5°F fever, I don't really care if the thermometer says 99.1 or 99.9. That's why I'm a fan of those IR thermometers... 👍

Honestly, you shouldn't even try to bring a fever down unless it hits 100.4°F, since it’s actually better for your body to fight off the infection on its own. Of course, with a little kid, you have to be more careful about the exact number, and maybe that half-degree difference matters, especially if you're comparing a rectal reading to an armpit or ear reading.
Also, when I first bought my ear thermometer, the manual mentioned that ear temps are usually higher than underarm temps, and it even gave a list of service centers where I could take it for maintenance. Since I've had this thing for about three years now, maybe the instructions or the device itself are just outdated. I haven't taken it out of the house, obviously, and I'm always super careful with it, though I still kind of doubt the accuracy sometimes. Every time I use it, I make sure to double-check it with a mercury one. And the weirdest part? It drives me crazy because it shows different temperatures in each ear—one side is always about a degree higher than the other... I have no idea why. So, I have this expensive thermometer, but it feels like I don't really have it, even though it's pretty handy for checking things at night. $167
I haven't bought replacement tips in ages, and I guess I use it less and less.

If you're looking at ear thermometers (not sure if they're infrared ones), just a heads-up that those little sensor covers can get pretty pricey. You really need them for accuracy, though, and I guess it's best to swap them out every single time. Plus, you might want to calibrate them once in a while just to be safe with the electronics, and maybe swap the batteries occasionally too.
The cool thing is they give you a reading in just a few seconds, and you don't even have to wake someone up. Just keep in mind that an ear reading is usually about half a degree higher than a forehead temp... so if it shows a high fever, I usually don't trust it right away and check with a regular one first.
My suggestion? Maybe just grab a few basic digital ones and maybe one fancy digital thermometer that takes a couple of minutes to finish... then you can just wipe them down with some rubbing alcohol.
Also, you can't use that ear thermometer for rectal readings, which sometimes you actually need to do. If there's more than a one-degree difference between a forehead temp and a rectal temp, doctors might start worrying about things like appendicitis.

I feel like I catch most of those bugs just from unwashed glasses at coffee shops..
Maybe if I'm careful and don't hang out in cafes as much, I could actually say I'm healthy..
