Eric Mitchell55 said:About a year... 😉

For me, it’s been closer to six months. I have days where my anxiety hits hard, but lately, I’ve just been feeling physically wiped out. I honestly think it’s the medication doing that to me, so I’m thinking it might be time to say goodbye to it.

Has anyone here tried Fevarin? I'd love to hear about your experiences with it. 🕺

Hehe... 😁
How long were you on it?

Larry Lewis said:Look, there are countless reasons why someone breaks, but if you ask me, highly sensitive individuals carry the heaviest burden when it comes to mental health issues.

My aunt struggles with schizophrenia, and I have this vivid, lingering memory from back in elementary school where I genuinely feared I was headed down that same dark path. For me, genetics definitely play a role—there's no denying that—but it isn't just about DNA. It was about being a kid, then a young man, who simply couldn't stomach the environment around me... the sheer stupidity of people, the blatant injustice that seems to be everywhere in this country.
Even during high school, I was apparently the most popular kid in my circle and my class—everyone thought I was doing fine—but internally, I was a total wreck, constantly questioning the very fabric of reality.

To put it bluntly: I believe you need a specific kind of personality profile—someone who suffers under the weight of external circumstances—for these illnesses to truly take hold.

That’s a clever way to put it. And honestly, it’s probably largely true.
David Vaughn75 said:The difference is, we know we're a mess. These other guys? They're just... undefined. You can't even tell if they're actually crazy or just pretending to be normal.

Well, maybe we're considered "crazy" simply because we're the ones acting normal.

I suppose I'm pushing the boundaries a bit now by bringing up BPD topics. 😂😂😂😂

David Vaughn75 said:Honestly, it’s because we’ve already lost our minds—but only because we’re the ones actually seeing how broken everything is. We see that there’s no real help coming and zero hope for things getting any better tomorrow. It's just grim like that.🐔

There's definitely some truth to that.

If anyone actually cares about that kind of stuff, you're more than welcome to join me. It kicks off at 4:00 PM in Chuck Hall over at the medical school, located at 3b Salad, featuring talks by Prof. Ivica Kostović and Prof. Judas Iscariot.

If this keeps happening... 🙂

silentpuma3 said:It started with me taking way more than my prescribed dose. I was constantly high, just floating in this hazy, disconnected state... Then, out of nowhere, I decided to quit all that crap cold turkey on my own. Now? I’m dealing with insomnia, emotional instability, and this terrifying surge of aggression—this urge to hurt others, and honestly, myself too.

I was mixing heavy doses of Tramadol, Percocet, and xanax all at once.

Should I just start taking them again? I feel like I'm losing my mind without them. I don't know what to do. And if I come clean to my doctor and tell them everything, am I going to face legal trouble?

As weird as it sounds, it really all comes down to your specific diagnosis. If you're dealing with BPD, honestly, this kind of behavior isn't even news to them. ☕

Some of my girlfriends have kids, and the more time I spend with them, the more certain I feel about my own decision to remain childfree.

There are plenty of us out there, 😍 🎉

analogeagle10 said:Is there any way to find out if I carry the schizophrenia gene? Can you actually test for that?

I’m perfectly healthy right now—everything is fine—but I’m asking because I plan on experimenting with certain substances down the road, like DMT or maybe LSD. If that gene is present, those could trigger schizophrenia.

It isn't just about genetics... Are you absolutely sure you want to go down this path? Just stay away from that stuff... Friendly advice.

I’m perfectly healthy right now

Using those kinds of substances could actually change that status.

Maybe a higher dose is what's actually needed. I'll give it a shot.

Don't go playing doctor on yourself here. Please, just call your physician tomorrow to discuss this.

The plan is to get a group of us together from the forum to hit up an art gallery and then grab drinks at a local pub afterward. We’re looking at Saturday, March 7th, around either 4:00 or 5:00 PM. We’re really hoping for a great turnout!!! 🎉

We'll nail down the exact time and meeting spot very soon.

silentpuma3 said:Is anyone else taking Fevarin experiencing this weird sense of derealization, nausea, or being totally haunted by dark, suicidal thoughts?

Does this actually pass?

I didn't experience those specific thoughts directly, but I’ll be honest—when I bumped my dose from 50mg to 100mg, I felt so terrible that I just wanted everything to stop. That feeling finally vanished once I stopped taking the Prozac.
I have an appointment with my doctor tomorrow.

Kevin Nguyen3 said:Generally speaking, Ginkgo interacts with antidepressants; there is a real risk of triggering mania.
It also clashes specifically with things like Warfarin (an anticoagulant, though why or how isn't really the point here...)

So, honestly? I wouldn't recommend mixing Ginkgo with your meds.

That said, Ginkgo (and similar supplements) can act as an anti-stress aid—definitely worth considering for anyone dealing with high pressure who *isn't* already on antidepressants.
Plus—it boosts libido... which, let's be honest, is a plus for the guys.🤣

To be honest, I’ve actually been feeling a bit of that myself. It might not necessarily be full-blown mania, but I've definitely noticed a certain "lust for life" that I haven't felt in quite some time. 😁 🎉

Anyway, hope everyone is doing well! 👋 It’s been way too long...

Thanks!

I'm currently on my second day of taking Ginkgo (40mg daily), and so far, I haven't noticed any side effects at all. 🙂

Rebecca Sanders37 said:Kevin Nguyen3 actually went and asked his doctor to get some meds for me since I’ve been feeling pretty depressed lately. She didn't even make a big deal out of it, just brushed it off like, "Oh, it's just typical teenage angst," blah blah blah.

But seriously, you gotta tell me—what's the deal with erectile dysfunction? That's the stuff I'm actually worried about...

I have this aunt who takes Zoloft and she is absolutely wild! She's constantly cracking jokes, talking total nonsense, and treats everything like one big prank. Honestly, it's kind of hilarious.

It sounds like you might be taking Lexapro a bit too lightly yourself. 🙂
Kevin Nguyen3 actually gave you a solid recommendation for your "issue." Or, if you're looking to boost your motivation through medication, Wellbutrin is the way to go. By the way, it doesn't carry those specific side effects you're worried about, and it definitely gives you that extra drive to get stuff done.

Forget it, cost-benefit analysis basically tells you it isn't even worth the grind since what you get back is way, way less than what you put in.

shadowfox75 said:I agree. The hardest part is the uncertainty—you never know if the medicine is actually working, or if what you're feeling are just lingering symptoms of anxiety that the medication should be fixing in the first place.
It feels like playing games with an already fragile mind.

Joe, tell me about it! I've cycled through eight different antidepressants already. If I have to switch this one out too, I'm sending a private message to my doctor to cancel everything. I'll quit the meds entirely, even if it leaves me feeling suicidal.

I wouldn't mind dealing with a bit of mania on this medication, but honestly, that morning anxiety is just soul-crushing. It completely tanks my quality of life. To be truthful, I’m terrified of increasing my dose because I’ve missed a pill a couple of times by mistake, and the withdrawal symptoms hit me like a freight train—which is pretty intense considering how small the dose actually is. It makes me dread even thinking about what would happen at higher milligram levels. Plus, eventually, I have to get off this stuff altogether. Maybe I should try the XR version since it releases more slowly into the system; hopefully, that means the exit is a bit smoother too. 🤷
