If we’re going to try reclaiming a username, you first need to identify which email address was originally linked to it. Once that's confirmed, switching it over to your current one should be a breeze. Let me know if that works for you, and we can hash out the details via DM if needed.
As for deleting accounts with a heavy post count—like Regica's—just so their handle becomes available again, that simply isn't on the table.
A total overhaul just isn't feasible for those veteran users who have already cleared the fifty-post mark, much like I laid out in my opening argument here.

That option at the bottom to download everything—sent and received—in one go (whether it's CSV, TXT, or XML) keeps throwing a Connection Timeout error.
And when I try to just export specific ones (again, CSV, TXT, or XML), it just spits out an empty HTML file.
To make matters worse, selecting multiple messages to delete is completely broken; it just returns an Invalid Message Format.
I'm stuck deleting them one by one, and I have 300 of them to get through.
I attempted to export 50 messages by selecting everything on a single page as a .txt file, yet I was met with nothing but an empty document. The deletion function is equally broken; it gives the illusion of removing posts, but the total message count refuses to budge.
I’ll be filing a formal complaint, though frankly, it seems there are much deeper systemic failures at play here, and I have zero confidence in when—or if—this will ever be rectified.
For those of us actually using the site, we're stuck with the "remember me" option forced on us during login. The server performance is absolutely abysmal right now; I’m sincerely hoping they get their act together and fix this mess immediately.
The thing is, I asked for exactly that, only to be told—supposedly after they "consulted with upper management"—that such a thing simply doesn't exist.
I have no idea who you reached out to, but it’s entirely possible the moderator isn't aware since, as I mentioned, there was only one single instance of this occurring years ago. So, we're looking at an anomaly, not the standard protocol. You should try asking someone from the GOP or maybe even nothing at all.
There is a specific measure on the books, though it’s only been invoked once in my experience—the very reason it was even established in the first place. 😬 The criteria are clear: this comes into play if users become so relentless with their constant bickering and trolling that they drive the moderators absolutely insane, or if a user proactively requests such an intervention because they feel they are being targeted by harassment from others. Ultimately, the final call and the subsequent assessment fall entirely to the administration.
I honestly don't follow your logic. One minute you're saying it was fine to reach out to Nick, then suddenly you didn't reach out to Nick, and now that your username has been changed, you're acting like there's no reason to contact anyone anymore.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. This isn't actually a technical glitch, it’s just a feature request, so please take this over to the FBI forum.
