Some people just struggle to keep up because they're a little too... obsessive. 🙂
It’s much easier for them to drop a grand on a single card than it is to deal with him constantly hunting down new profiles.

That rule dates all the way back to 2006. As most people here are already aware, using clones is tacitly permitted as long as you aren't abusing them.
For instance: if you find yourself banned and decide to start posting via a clone, that is a massive "no-no."
Or if you're using multiple profiles within the same thread—absolutely not, unless it's an extreme exception where you've cleared it with a moderator first.
It gets even worse when you're not just using multiple profiles on one topic, but actually patting yourself on the back to artificially boost your own rating (LOL. Goodbye and send a postcard).
Using different profiles within the same subforum but on separate threads is tolerated, though it’s wise to notify the mods to avoid any misunderstandings.

Any situation where you've forgotten your password or lost access to your email and can't reset it is easily handled through the forum help desk. Furthermore, if a clone is created due to one of those situations—much like what happened with mellowbadger0—and you continue posting solely from that account, there is no issue at all.

Good grief 🤦
Do you really feel the need to slice everything up and quote half a dozen people at once?

By the way, I managed to get through roughly the first sentence of this absolute monstrosity of a post, and here’s my final word on it: I am officially done wasting my breath responding to your pointless interruptions in the Help forum. You're banned, and consider this thread deleted. 👍

coppersailor28, if you aren't going to actually offer any assistance, then please refrain from interfering in the future—especially with comments along the lines of
And how, precisely, would anyone else be expected to resolve a "problem" that is so uniquely yours?

You know I have zero patience for people who just post nonsense to kill time, much like certain colleagues over at the local precinct for no reason I can fathom.

bluerider2, once you get in, go ahead and send over a screenshot. Because for me, it’s slightly smaller.
Sure, the difference is almost negligible, but it is still technically smaller 😁
. Also, let me know which browser you're running.

bluerider2 said:Good morning! I was just asking why, in practice, font 1 ends up being larger than the standard font size. Let’s just let Casey Bennett handle it. Sound good? 😉

I've reported it, but don't expect me to guarantee anything else moving forward. 😬

I'll look into it and let you know if I find anything out.

Lawrence Allen63 said:Hey everyone, I've run into a bit of a situation where someone sent me a private message, but they have their disabled the option to send or receive messages. How can I get in touch with them? Feel free to DM me directly. Thanks in advance for any help.

Just check which thread they are most active in and leave a reply there.
Alternatively, just report that PM using the little icon and explain the situation, asking that the user be prompted to unlock their inbox so you can respond.

Sometimes I honestly can't tell where the moderator's authority ends and ours begins, but I am fairly certain the site admin can still bypass those privacy settings to send a message even when an inbox is locked.

I'm still lost.

It’s broken. I did find a possible workaround, so give that a shot and see if it actually works for you.
I honestly don't have an issue with embedded videos; when I'm on my iPhone or iPad, I just use Tapatalk, and over on my Mac, I use Chrome where everything functions perfectly fine. I simply don't have the patience to waste my time messing around with this.

redtinker87 said:Twice today, my attempts to submit posts failed due to some random error message. On top of that, the system keeps wiping out my username while simultaneously suggesting it—and even my password—as if it hasn't forgotten them.
Yet, strangely enough, it let me send a private message without any issues.
I was trying to post within the Waiting for the Sun thread.

Please fix these glitches.
Best regards!

🤔
There aren't any actual bugs, just the usual sluggishness from the server. Maybe that's what's causing it?
You really need to specify which error you're seeing; either grab a screenshot or write down the exact message and let us know.
Have you tried using a different browser?

I’m going to try this one more time; ever since the update, YouTube videos on the forum won't load—all I see is a gray square. For the record, I'm using Safari and it seems to be an issue exclusive to this site. Is anyone else dealing with this? 😁

Drop a link to a specific post so I can check it on my end. I have no intention of digging through the endless wilderness of this forum just to hunt down posts with YT embeds. 🕺
And are we talking about Safari on an iPhone, an iPad, or a Mac?

If you still can't post after waiting a full 24 hours from the moment you created your profile, just direct them to that thread linked above so they can actually fix whatever is broken.
Honestly, I thought everyone had already transitioned over to the new platform. Is this really the final wave of people trying to migrate? 😬

this thread, first post, just look at what’s written in red. And then there's that sentence right underneath it.

As far as I’m aware, this forum doesn't offer any notifications when you get quoted, though if you happen to be using Tapatalk, I believe they actually do have those alerts enabled.
I can't speak from direct experience, mind you, because I keep every single one of my notifications turned off.

Personally, I find the most efficient method is simply subscribing to the specific threads I participate in or follow; that way, I can track new activity, and since I make it a point to scan through all the recent posts anyway, I'll naturally spot if someone has quoted me.

Frank Lee said:A "remember me" feature doesn't actually solve the underlying security issue; it just creates another avenue for someone else to hijack a session!

Security warnings aren't meant to be bypassed; their entire purpose is to alert the user when they've wandered onto an untrustworthy site. Honestly, sticking with http in this day and age should be considered a total non-starter, and it’s no surprise we're seeing issues like the ones I'm facing or the ones @mynameis...
is dealing with. As for the other vulnerabilities—like packet sniffing or data being intercepted and altered mid-communication—there really shouldn't even be a debate about why HTTPS is superior to HTTP.
In my view, we absolutely have to uphold standard internet security protocols.

I appreciate these observations, and I will make sure to pass them along to the forum owner.

Frank Lee said:I try to log into the housing section, my login goes through perfectly fine, I start a thread, and nothing happens—no registration shows up. So I try again, following the steps exactly, and still nothing. What am I doing wrong?
Just a moment ago, I tried signing up for the help forum; everything looked correct, I went under technical issues where I am now, but there's no record of my sign-up. I try once more to send an inquiry, but is there some rule I'm breaking or something else going on?
Note:
If I change my IP address, the issue disappears for a second, but as soon as I log in again, the exact same thing happens. ???

Make sure you check the "remember me" box when you log in.
Regarding your other question in the previous post: it's because the forum is running on http instead of https. Check your browser settings to see if you can disable those security warnings if they're bothering you.

And I didn't reply to your post immediately because I missed it. Also, tone down the question marks; one is plenty.

Send me a DM tomorrow with all the details on that profile, specifically which email address was linked to it and what the new email is—not the one you're using for this current account.

I mean, what part of this blatant silence is supposed to be confusing?

Hold on a second. Is this our first big blowout in the making? Since when did you decide hanging pictures was more important than this? 🤷

I have no idea what Bean is getting at. She’s probably just bitter because I beat her to the punch.
