Casey Bennett said:The search function was disabled yesterday.
This means you can't browse new posts on Reddit or track threads you've contributed to unless you've specifically subscribed to them—essentially, anything involving the internal search tool is currently broken.
My advice? Just subscribe to the threads you write in (or the ones you actually care about) so you don't miss any updates.
If you need to find specific keywords, just use Google instead—for example: "Malta Falcon site:reddit.com" if you're trying to hunt down mentions of the Malta Falcon.
As of right now, there’s no word on when the search feature will be back online.
I still don't quite grasp what you mean by "opening a post." Are you referring to a specific thread, and if so, which one exactly? I'm going to need a link. If you aren't talking about a specific topic, then you really ought to clarify your meaning, because you don't "open" posts—you either read them or you reply to them.
Edit: perhaps you're actually trying to search for a specific user on Reddit? If that's the case, the search function is broken. It's the same issue already mentioned in the original thread where you first posed this question.
You really need to provide a much clearer picture of what’s actually going down—specifically the context of the situation and which platform we're even talking about.
Because of this outage, you can't browse new posts or track any threads you’ve participated in unless you're actively subscribed to them—and frankly, anything else involving the internal search tool is currently broken too.
My recommendation? Just subscribe to the threads you write in (or the ones you actually care about) so you don't lose track of the activity.
If you need to hunt for specific keywords, just use Google instead; for example, try searching "Malta Falcon site:Reddit.com" if you're trying to find mentions of the Malta Falcon.
As of right now, there is absolutely no word on when the search engine will be back online.
What exactly needs to be done to alleviate the load on the server so this forum can actually function properly again? Regarding the question "when will we have it back," we are all waiting on an answer, yet no one has provided us with any actual information.

If my report is baseless, then fine, send me a DM explaining why and give me a strike. If it’s valid, the offender takes the hit. That's the least you can expect in a place that claims to be democratic. Democracy starts with respecting every single user. I read the owner's statements about how this site should run a long time ago, which is actually why I joined. If I don't have the right to voice my opinion, and if the moderator uses self-censorship to delete that opinion, then that practice needs to stop. I have a specific example I could walk you through if it helps move the needle on this self-censorship issue.
The owner has stated more than once—just a few days ago, actually, somewhere in one of these threads—that there is no democracy here, nor will there ever be any. Go ahead and dig through his posts if you don't believe me.

Do you even understand the difference between self-censorship and actual censorship? Or do you not?
There’s some info regarding that right here Reddit
In one very significant way, the European Union subforum stands apart from every other section you've posted in; specifically, only moderators, super-moderators, and Administrators have the authority to start new threads there.
