Has it really been that long already? Time just flies when you aren't doing anything meaningful 😁 It’s clear we aren't exactly heavy hitters when it comes to spending.

I just bought this thing, so there's no way I'm burning through ink already 😁
The print quality is solid; my only gripe is how loud it is. It’s definitely noisier than my old Canon Pixma iP4000 series. That might just be because my new setup is right by my ear—it wouldn't fit on the bottom shelf of my desk where the old one lived, so now it's sitting right on top of the desk.
Wireless printing works flawlessly (I tested it using Readdle's Printer Pro for iOS), and honestly, based on our limited use so far, I'm pretty happy with it.

on my old ip4000 replacement cartridges, but now that I've upgraded, I'm stuck using nothing but the originals.

How do I change the display text for a link? in Forum Help! ·
Why bother typing out brackets when there is a command designed to do the heavy lifting for you?
When you're putting together a post, just write a quick summary of what the link actually contains. Open that destination in a separate tab first, then grab the URL from the address bar.

Head back to your draft, highlight that description you just wrote (just click at the start and drag your cursor to the end), and look at the toolbar above the message box. Find the URL icon—it’s one of those options tucked away on the far right. Once you click it, a little window pops up asking for the web address. Paste your link in there, hit confirm, and voilà!

It might sound like a whole production, but honestly, it is just a matter of a few simple clicks. 🙂

I made the jump from the IP4000 to the IP7250, and honestly, I’m pretty happy with the switch. You can actually find my previous post on this thread from July 28th where I argued almost the exact same point you're making now. 😁
The only thing is, this beast of a printer is massive, so make sure you check the dimensions to see if it'll even fit in your space.

I'm giving it my best shot, but clearly, I'm failing. I might as well just join the ranks of the absolute idiots on Reddit 🙂
System Failure! in Feedback & Suggestions ·
I’m not sure how much you actually know, but this forum server has been the subject of internal jokes for ages now. You already know that hardly anyone even bothers to react to these pathetic little glitches.

To be honest, these System Errors aren't anything out of the ordinary; we've dealt with much worse, more prolonged outages in the past. It’s highly likely the sysadmins just start their workday like this. 🙂
And if the entire day passes with nothing but errors, they probably just head home with 🙏
.
There was even a suggestion once that we all chip in via a donation fund to buy a new server and finally let poor old Chip retire. Unfortunately, that idea never really gained any traction. So, I suppose we should just enjoy things while the server stays upright and doesn't turn into 🙂

You keep saying "they" as if you're referring to some distant third party 🙂
If this forum had actually been hit by a DDoS attack, it wouldn't have taken half a year to recover—if it even recovered at all 😁

Who exactly are we talking about here?

Yeah, honestly... if I hadn't actually written that post, I probably wouldn't have even bothered browsing online to figure out what I needed to buy in the first place 😁

Hey everyone!

My trusty Canon Pixma IP4000 finally gave up the ghost after what feels like ten solid years of service without ever needing a single repair. Given its age, I highly doubt it’s worth throwing money at a technician right now, so...

I’m officially on the hunt for a successor. It’s just for home use—mostly printing documents and some stuff for faxing—nothing too heavy-duty, but I need to be able to print whatever I need in color whenever the mood strikes. You know how it is. 😁

The main dealbreaker is whether there are affordable third-party ink options available. My second requirement is quality—both in terms of build and print output. I have zero interest in buying some flimsy, rattling, loud piece of junk.
It would also be great if it had Wi-Fi so we don't have to lug it from room to room; being able to trigger a print job from a phone (specifically an iPhone) or a laptop would be ideal.
Budget-wise, I can go up to $333, though I might stretch it if the machine is actually worth the premium. In other words, I want something that will serve me well for the next several years, ideally without constant trips to the repair shop.
So, there you have it. 🙂

Edit: ended up picking up a Canon Pixma IP7250. $200. It checks all my boxes. Hopefully, it proves to be a worthy successor. 😁
Help! Some random person is harassing me in my DMs in Feedback & Suggestions ·
We aren't laughing at your discomfort, we’re reacting to how you handled it—it’s as if some creep just climbed through your apartment window. 🙂
It’s probably because you’re a sane person who isn't used to these kinds of unsolicited intrusions, so of course you're in shock.
If the person sending these private messages isn't being abusive or offensive, there is absolutely no point in reporting them. The site admins can't just step in and force someone to stop messaging you if you haven't blocked them yourself. Like everyone else has already told you, just ignore them.

You might as well ask Anderlon to come over and scrub your back for you; just don't expect anyone to actually show up when you ask.
Good grief... the insults and the provocations are getting out of hand. LOL

That’s just an overpayment, so he can request a refund back to his checking account. I’m not entirely positive, but my guess is that money isn't just sitting there to be spent; more likely, they'll just credit the next statement for that amount.

Paul Wilson2, I have no idea how you managed to completely misunderstand the whole point of American Express?😁

And what on earth does being a moderator on some obscure tenth PDF have to do with my comment, where I am simply pointing out the blatant hypocrisy and the total failure to follow the basic rules of this forum?

I honestly hope this gets penalized as well.

Though,it is entirely possible you are simply dim-witted enough that you can't grasp the direction of this conversation or even understand why I brought up the fact that an American is fighting with the Azov regiment. ☕

Here is just a snippet from the community guidelines regarding how to start a new thread

• Make sure your titles are clear about who you’re complaining about and why [PDF Name - Moderator Username - Issue]; this makes grievances much easier for the right people to spot, which means you’ll actually get a response sooner. In your opening post, you need to provide a specific reason along with an explanation, and don't forget to include links to the posts in question.

• Vague threads that don't clearly state what the issue is cannot be resolved and will likely just result in the thread being locked.

She might have mistakenly assumed you need the full purchase price sitting in your account upfront to use an installment plan. Students actually have $333 in credit limits and another $333 available for installments.

If you buy something from $233 on a payment plan, you still have $100 left in your installment limit. As you pay off those monthly installments, your available purchasing power actually grows back. For instance, if you bought something over three installments, next month you'll see $78 deducted for the first payment, which means your free installment limit will be $178 (the remaining 300 plus $78 from that first repayment). This cycle continues until everything is paid off, provided you aren't constantly buying more.

A lot of people wrongly believe that those $333 represent the maximum amount allowed for a single installment, just as they incorrectly assume you need the total sum available in your checking account right away.
Honestly, the tellers at the local Chase branch are always in such a rush to handle cash that they give these rushed, half-baked explanations, which is exactly how these misunderstandings happen 😉
