Taxi Driver Fight Club The Shawshank Redemption Fear and loathing in Las Vegas The Lord of the Rings A Clockwork Orange A Clockwork Orange
Oh man, yeah, definitely—The Goonies! 😁
And there are just so many more of them... honestly, it feels like they're everywhere.
Look, I’m not saying I’m some kind of high-maintenance diva... honestly. I mean, let’s be real: garbage is garbage, and I can recognize that when I see it. But in principle? I guess I’m pretty much down to watch just about anything. 😁
Regarding that point about whether we’re all just leeches—I actually mentioned that right back in my opening post!
Oh, we absolutely are. 🙂
Like I said before, as much as I absolutely loathe being a parasite, I catch myself doing it constantly. It happens almost every single day. It’s usually just the little things, but when it comes to draining people... man, you have to admit it's real.
Actually, if we set aside my own issue, which is now 🙂 (thanks for the help), the fundamental question here is whether energy—specifically how it's distributed and wasted—is the core foundation of our entire existence, of how we live?
Can we actually improve our quality of life, our spirit, and our very character by focusing on the flow of energy?
And does someone else necessarily have to be drained just so one person can "recharge"?
Morgan Cook10 said:Making weed illegal isn't going to stop anyone from buying it and lighting up, but it does create these extra hurdles that basically push users closer to harder stuff like heroin.
Oh, really? Is that so? Man, you can read just about anything on this forum. 🙄
Otherwise regarding legalization, I honestly think discussing it is pretty pointless given the kind of environment we're living in right now! I don't even have a solid take on it because, I guess, I can't even visualize how it would actually work here.
redrider63, you're totally right, I actually took that into account when I was thinking things through up there. And honestly, I’ve been reflecting on it—I’ve even caught myself being a little bit of a subtle parasite after starting these threads.
Jack Harris3, yeah, exactly, i guess 🙂 But look, I know I'm just at the beginning here, both spiritually and intellectually, and on this whole journey of growing up. It's normal to be a bit clueless. Actually, I hope I stay a little bit stupid my whole life, because man, if you end up knowing everything, what's even the point? What's the purpose of living then? But I definitely agree that some nonsense needs to be cut out ASAP, because those things really do become priorities. Like this one, which is why I'm venting to you guys 🙂 😁
Sarah Cruz2, this has been going on for years, and it’ll probably keep going for just as long. Maybe not, though, if I move my entire setup somewhere else. Like, moving into a new apartment 😁 which might happen pretty soon.
Sometimes you just have to tackle spiritual problems by dealing with them on a physical level.
Sarah Cruz2 said:Jack, maybe I didn't explain that quite right.
Leeches try their luck with everyone, you're totally right there. But when they run into someone with actual backbone, they turn tail and run immediately; instead, they just stick around to drain the weak ones. That's why I said they latch onto people who are vulnerable.
I've also noticed that the second those weak people find their strength, the leeches vanish. Just like that!
Thank God for that, 😁 but how the hell do you actually become strong?
Jack Harris3 said:Look, I already said it—she isn't giving it back, she’s holding onto it. 😁 Just say "fuck off." Simple as that. before It’s like a leech, you know? It bites you when it’s actually got something to take. Once it's drained you dry and there's nothing left to suck, it just lets go. And that's when you're left stumbling, trying to pick yourself up off the floor with whatever strength you have left. 😁
Where on earth are you getting this nonsense from? You think I need to be completely exhausted just to call out bullshit? Or am I supposed to come up with some grand, formal arguments first? What kind of argument do you actually need to justify not doing something—or more importantly, not letting someone else force you into it? What’s the big, grand justification for your goddamn right to say no? Honestly, I think someone taught you completely wrong. 😁 "I don't care!", "You're exhausting me, sorry!", "Go annoy someone else!"—if that’s really what you consider an actual argument, then honestly, just get lost. If you actually need a real point to stand on, those lines aren't going to cut it. But do you actually have the guts to tell them? 😛
I'm guessing not, but hey, feel free to set me straight if I've got that wrong.
It’s just like any other person out there who plays both sides—acting like one thing to some people while turning around and whining about it to everyone else. Leeches. Never. They aren't exactly playing by the rules over there, are they? It’s like they’re constantly trying to suck up to people where they definitely shouldn't be. Honestly, it's just ridiculous. Look, at the end of the day, YOU are the one who lets them walk all over you. You’re the one deciding exactly how people get to treat you, where they can push your boundaries, and just how much they can exploit you. So, honestly? Stop stressing out and playing the victim. It’s that simple. Either let them do whatever they want, or shut it down if you aren't feeling it. It's on you. It’s really as simple as that. 😉 🙂
Pesica, everything is standing still. 😉 But let’s be real—there are definitely people who, after reading what you just wrote, are going to become absolute nightmares. 😢 Maybe I’m just too damn incompetent to get rid of them once and for all. At the end of the day, we’re still talking about a parent here. 😢
TsunamiGirl. The truth is, leeches tend to target people who are vulnerable in a specific way, though I’m mostly talking about how they manage their energy. It doesn't mean those people are weak overall. Hmm,,, regarding that second point you made... yeah, that's envy. To be honest, that's exactly what I was just venting about with a friend earlier. She's struggling with the exact thing you described, and I think your theory might actually give her some much-needed perspective. In my case, it involved someone in my immediate family, so I highly doubt there's any envy at play here. That's just impossible. So, I'm leaning more towards Super Bowl Her post was great; it really hit home for me. Yeah, that’s exactly what I’m getting at—that's precisely how the pieces fit together! Jack Harris3, of course, at least for a little while. It’s currently being put into practice 😁 The only shitty part is that you usually have to be completely drained before you can even muster the strength to tell them to fuck off. Still, a "fuck off" technique doesn't magically restore your energy or drive. Unfortunately.
Larry Hayes5, it's not about whether I mentioned the peak or not, it's about how you chose to interpret it. Ugh... 😁 😉
You know, Roger Hall15, you wouldn't believe it, but this thought just hit me about half an hour ago... I guess it’s because the whole topic has been looping in my head constantly. So, the real question is: how much of my own positive energy and inner strength have I actually drained without inadvertently hurting anyone else? I mean, obviously, there are those moments where you can just soak up good vibes in massive amounts—like that upcoming concert I’m heading to soon, which is basically a giant battery pack for my soul; I'm going there just to recharge. 🙂 But with people like that, they just give it away, offering it up without any strings attached. Music, in general, is such an incredible way to refuel. If the music hits right, if it truly resonates with you, it literally warms you up from the inside and just fries you with pure energy. 🙂 At least, that’s how it feels to me.
I feel like I might actually lose my mind if I started viewing the entire world through this lens, you know? 😁 But honestly, to me, it makes a ton of sense...
ironfalcon18 said:Astral vampirism is an incredibly effective practice. 😁 Advanced versions serve much more advanced purposes as well. 👍 The type of vampirism practiced by certain individuals, including Oscar Wilde, is so potent it can drain a victim to death through nothing more than a kiss.
Harry Potter? 😁 Hmm, I guess I wouldn't call that astral vampirism, but it definitely feels like some kind of subconscious manipulation.
frozenangler9, it doesn't necessarily have to be envy... You can experience that from people who don't even have a reason to be envious, like your own parents.
Larry Hayes5, it’s not about being stubborn; it’s just about carving out a well-worn path. For me, it's the best way—the one where I feel totally at my peak, feeling powerful, strong, and knowing it's exactly what I need. akll is full of people who will try to push you out of it, sucking the power right out of you so you can't move, grow, or win.
Ryan Wilson2, yeah, that's pretty much it. And "demons" often manifest through people themselves. They don't always have to be enemies; honestly, they're often your closest loved ones, yet it feels like they're subconsciously draining you. I refuse to let anyone push me out, but man, it is incredibly hard to keep moving forward when that's happening.
I don't know about you guys, but I am just so EXHAUSTED after that energy drain. It's like I've hit rock bottom and don't have a single ounce of strength left—just pure mental exhaustion. Neither breathing exercises nor positive affirmations help. It's so hard to pull yourself back "off the floor."
Why do people do this? Most of them, admittedly, do it subconsciously, though I've definitely heard of conscious manipulators too...
Why is it that they always show up right when you finally feel that surge of power—that moment where you feel like you could take on the entire world and conquer your own doubts all at once? When you actually start believing in yourself and what you’re capable of, that's exactly when they crawl out of the woodwork. Why do they strike just when you're feeling like an absolute Energy Knight?
What is it about people that makes them want to drain you? Why is there this constant urge in some folks to tear you down and grind you into the dirt, both figuratively and literally? Why do they try to hijack your strength just to bolster their own weak selves?
Is it really that much to ask to just exist on a higher level, moving upward, without a pack of hungry wolves constantly lunging at you?
Isn't our whole lives just one big ebb and flow of good and bad energy? Isn't that basically the core of existence? Is there any other way to find inner strength besides having to swallow whatever scraps others have painfully scraped together?
Sometimes we're all just wolves... unfortunately.
And half the time, we don't even realize the hit we're delivering to the person we're exhausting.
Does anyone know of any techniques to boost positive energy after being "leeched" like I have been these last few days? Maybe meditation? I could seriously use some help because I feel myself starting to slip again. Thanks.
Look, I’m not saying my friend picked out the absolute healthiest way to drop some weight.. But right now? These snack sticks are hitting the spot. It's like, 7 PM hits, I'm staring at the fridge, just staring and staring.. and nothing looks good. Not cheese, not ham, not yogurt, not eggs, not fruit, not veggies, not even bread (thank God for small mercies), but I am absolutely dreaming about those meat sticks—specifically the BOBI kind (you know, the BOBI 🙂 ones). Then I end up sprinting to the convenience store.
I’ve been trying to stick roughly to my target zone lately... and I think I'm starting to see some actual progress with my skin and hair 🙂 My Killica isn't there yet, though 😢 But hey, maybe it'll happen eventually.
Anyway, quick question—for the last 5 or 6 days, I’ve basically been having beef jerky sticks for dinner. It’s not even like I’m forcing myself to eat them; they actually taste really good to me 🙂 They're so tasty and crunchy... Does anyone know how healthy or bad they actually are in terms of calories? A friend of mine lost a ton of weight just eating those sticks.
Edward Green said:Look, I honestly couldn't care less. Or maybe I do, but frankly, I just don't have any skin in this game. It’s all the same to me. 😬 I mean, I’m definitely not exactly a fashion icon myself, but I have this friend who’s about 5'3" and around 140 pounds. Every single pair of jeans she buys is way too long—she basically has to get them hemmed every single time because, honestly, if they were actually sized for her proportions, she’d probably be like three or four sizes smaller in the waist. It's just constant struggle. 🙄
Same here—it feels like I’m always having to cut things down. And then, once I finally do, they just drag me through the mud for it anyway. 😁
I mean, honestly? I actually kind of love it when they just drag themselves across the floor. 😉
Come on, ladies! Where can I find some models who actually have curves? You know, girls with a real ass and thick thighs? Give me something to look at! 🙂
Unbelievable. I head over to Reddit just to start a thread about jeans, and I stumble right into this??? 😁 😲
Awesome! But seriously... where on earth are you guys buying your jeans?
I’ve been wearing this one killer pair from an old Levi's line for years now, but they don't make them anymore. 😢
Honestly, I deal with the exact same issues as the OP (except I’ve got a few more inches and pounds to account for, plus wider hips, a bigger butt, and thicker thighs).
Every single style out there looks absolutely ridiculous on me... if I can even manage to pull them over my thighs in the first place. 😢
I look around town and see tons of girls with curves wearing perfectly fitted jeans, yet I can't find a single decent pair for myself. 😢
I really love that flared, long-leg denim look too... so, yeah. 🙂 Just so you know, I'm a size 12.
