Why is it that they always show up right when you finally feel that surge of power—that moment where you feel like you could take on the entire world and conquer your own doubts all at once? When you actually start believing in yourself and what you’re capable of, that's exactly when they crawl out of the woodwork.
Why do they strike just when you're feeling like an absolute Energy Knight?

What is it about people that makes them want to drain you? Why is there this constant urge in some folks to tear you down and grind you into the dirt, both figuratively and literally?
Why do they try to hijack your strength just to bolster their own weak selves?

Is it really that much to ask to just exist on a higher level, moving upward, without a pack of hungry wolves constantly lunging at you?

Isn't our whole lives just one big ebb and flow of good and bad energy? Isn't that basically the core of existence? Is there any other way to find inner strength besides having to swallow whatever scraps others have painfully scraped together?

Sometimes we're all just wolves... unfortunately.

And half the time, we don't even realize the hit we're delivering to the person we're exhausting.

Does anyone know of any techniques to boost positive energy after being "leeched" like I have been these last few days? Maybe meditation? I could seriously use some help because I feel myself starting to slip again. Thanks.

.

It’s likely because, in those specific moments, you haven't actually mastered how to wield that kind of power yet. You might feel strong, but you don't truly know what to do with it, so the universe essentially steps in to reclaim it for itself.
😁

The solution is straightforward: stop trying to shoulder more than you can easily carry.

Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)
Who am I to argue?
Travel the World
Everyone is hunting for something
A few just want to exploit you
Others want to be exploited
Some are out to break you
And some actually want to be broken
I’ll take advantage and push the limits
I intend to see what you're really made of
Using and breaking you
I'll find out what lies beneath the surface

That's just how it is, and there's no other way.

Because once you become a lighthouse, you end up attracting a massive swarm of moths.

I’ve experienced this myself on several occasions, though perhaps in a slightly different guise. There were times when I fell victim to it and was forced to scrap everything and start from scratch—a truly miserable situation.

It might sound eccentric, but I occasionally harbor the sensation that "someone" is watching from "above," and the moment they spot a "lighthouse," they dispatch various demons to snuff it out.

The only recourse is to stubbornly persist in your endeavors, regardless of the fallout for those around you; however, since humans are inherently social creatures, that is far easier said than done.

Why would anyone even want to crush you like that? Seriously, why?

Seems to me like you're just describing basic human envy.

Maybe think about the line between envy and actual admiration. That might be what we're looking at here. 😉

Regarding that issue, I’d suggest reading Energy Knight. It'll answer all your questions and then some...👋

Astral vampirism is an incredibly fascinating practice.😁 Some people even use advanced methods for much more sophisticated purposes.👍 There’s a specific form of vampirism—one famously practiced by figures like Oscar Wilde—that is so potent it can actually drain a victim to death with nothing more than a single kiss.

Harry Potter? 😁
Hmm, I guess I wouldn't call that astral vampirism, but it definitely feels like some kind of subconscious manipulation.

frozenangler9, it doesn't necessarily have to be envy... You can experience that from people who don't even have a reason to be envious, like your own parents.

Larry Hayes5, it’s not about being stubborn; it’s just about carving out a well-worn path. For me, it's the best way—the one where I feel totally at my peak, feeling powerful, strong, and knowing it's exactly what I need. akll is full of people who will try to push you out of it, sucking the power right out of you so you can't move, grow, or win.

Ryan Wilson2, yeah, that's pretty much it. And "demons" often manifest through people themselves. They don't always have to be enemies; honestly, they're often your closest loved ones, yet it feels like they're subconsciously draining you. I refuse to let anyone push me out, but man, it is incredibly hard to keep moving forward when that's happening.

I don't know about you guys, but I am just so EXHAUSTED after that energy drain. It's like I've hit rock bottom and don't have a single ounce of strength left—just pure mental exhaustion. Neither breathing exercises nor positive affirmations help. It's so hard to pull yourself back "off the floor."

Why do people do this? Most of them, admittedly, do it subconsciously, though I've definitely heard of conscious manipulators too...

restlessmarlin6 said:Ryan Wilson2, yes, that’s essentially the gist of it. But let's be honest—the real "demons" often reside within the people closest to us. They aren't always external enemies; quite frequently, they are your own loved ones who, perhaps subconsciously, simply drain your very essence.

I wasn't suggesting they were enemies, because an enemy can never get close enough to truly deplete you.

However, what you're describing isn't quite aligned with my original point. If you simply practiced a bit more "self-interest," most of these issues would resolve themselves immediately.

Ryan Wilson2 said:The only thing you can really do is stubbornly stick to your guns, regardless of how much it shakes up everyone around you.

👍

Don't let people push you around or drain your energy—just blow them off. 😉

Whether it's meditation or whatever else keeps you grounded, lean into what gives you strength.
Ryan Wilson2 mentioned needing a bit of "selfishness," but if you ask me, what you actually need is asertivnost.

Ugh, seriously 🙂? What did I even do to deserve being pinned as the top topic? 😁

Nothing. 😁
People tend to think this topic is interesting. And, honestly, it is.

Personally, I found the whole thing quite refreshing: we all have a bit of a predator in us from time to time. We really do. But there’s this incredibly fine line that separates a slightly awkward or even unfavorable "trade" from being a straight-up leech. And the more someone feeds, the more they end up getting drained themselves. Hmm.

You know, Roger Hall15, you wouldn't believe it, but this thought just hit me about half an hour ago... I guess it’s because the whole topic has been looping in my head constantly.
So, the real question is: how much of my own positive energy and inner strength have I actually drained without inadvertently hurting anyone else? I mean, obviously, there are those moments where you can just soak up good vibes in massive amounts—like that upcoming concert I’m heading to soon, which is basically a giant battery pack for my soul; I'm going there just to recharge. 🙂 But with people like that, they just give it away, offering it up without any strings attached. Music, in general, is such an incredible way to refuel. If the music hits right, if it truly resonates with you, it literally warms you up from the inside and just fries you with pure energy. 🙂 At least, that’s how it feels to me.

I feel like I might actually lose my mind if I started viewing the entire world through this lens, you know? 😁 But honestly, to me, it makes a ton of sense...

I suppose I have two ways of looking at this:

1. Leeches always target those who show weakness. There is simply no chance they would bother with someone who is strong. They have a radar for vulnerability, I think.

2. What you might be describing isn't actually that type of leech, but rather a deep-seated fear of someone else's success. You see, if you become incredibly successful, the gap between you and them grows even wider. This forces them to confront the uncomfortable reality of their own lack of achievement—even if you never once bring it up! Some people follow you through certain phases of your life, but eventually, you outgrow them. They stay stagnant, and then they try to pull you back down to their level. If you truly want to move forward, you’ll likely have to leave them behind. It feels harsh, but it's just a natural part of growth, so please don't let it weigh on you. New people will come along, and perhaps there will even be times when you feel like a burden to them too...

And no, we aren't all "lone wolves"—that sounds like nothing more than an excuse for a guilty conscience! Perhaps I have "taken" something from someone at some point (though I prefer to say I learned from them!), but I believe that person benefited from the exchange as well (meaning, they gained something or learned something new in return). There have certainly been moments where I was the one gaining while the other side wasn't, but those were mentors, and I am profoundly grateful to them. I intend to pay it forward by becoming a mentor to someone else someday. And I believe they understand that.

Did I overcomplicate things? Heavens, no!

So "being at the peak" 😲 ?
Then it isn't just stagnation—it’s pure complacency 😁 !

I can't say for sure about the recharging part, but I do know a way to stop those vampires from latching onto you in the first place.
It’s super simple, doesn't take much effort at all, and honestly... it works every single time. 🙂

It's right there on my avatar. 😁

Energy vampires typically latch onto any form of energy they lack the capacity to generate themselves. Put simply, they can't raise their own vibration. These people don't believe in anything beyond the material; they could be your parents, your friends, your spouse... usually, it's someone close to you. It’s rare for a complete stranger to have that kind of pull over you.
How do you defend against these leeches? You certainly don't withhold, because that just makes them hunt harder. You have to redirect the flow. Give them a small dose of whatever gratification they crave so they feel satisfied, even though they haven't actually gained anything from you.
Those who recognize the theft will find a way out, because awareness is half the battle.
Leeches act just like addicts; they become hooked on the high they get from draining others.
Where does this drain happen? Most often during conversations, arguments, or sex. You’ll know it’s happening when you feel utterly beaten down, exhausted, or completely hollow.
Energy should flow freely between people, leaving everyone feeling energized, upbeat, and relaxed... that's what healthy circulation looks like.
Even here on this forum, there are leeches...😁

The truth is, leeches tend to target people who are vulnerable in a specific way, though I’m mostly talking about how they manage their energy. It doesn't mean those people are weak overall.
Hmm,,, regarding that second point you made... yeah, that's envy. To be honest, that's exactly what I was just venting about with a friend earlier. She's struggling with the exact thing you described, and I think your theory might actually give her some much-needed perspective.
In my case, it involved someone in my immediate family, so I highly doubt there's any envy at play here. That's just impossible. So, I'm leaning more towards
Super Bowl
Her post was great; it really hit home for me. Yeah, that’s exactly what I’m getting at—that's precisely how the pieces fit together!
Jack Harris3, of course, at least for a little while. It’s currently being put into practice 😁 The only shitty part is that you usually have to be completely drained before you can even muster the strength to tell them to fuck off. Still, a "fuck off" technique doesn't magically restore your energy or drive. Unfortunately.

Larry Hayes5, it's not about whether I mentioned the peak or not, it's about how you chose to interpret it. Ugh... 😁 😉
