Wild Angel - Loves You, Your Beast

That intro, though!

aaaa... I absolutely adore that track... 😍 👋

I’m honestly only going to check this out because of Gerard 😍

Seriously, the sexiest Dracula ever 😍

You’re seriously telling me you put together this "ultimate" list and somehow managed to leave out James Coburn and Bekim Fehmiu? 😎

Look, ironcrane7 just wants to be ahead of the curve—kind of like those people who think acting like a huge Bush fan makes them edgy or enlightened right now. She’s trying to use all that dense Hegel-Heidegger nonsense to label the rest of us as pseudo-intellectuals just because we’re actually sitting here enjoying this gorgeous film... though if anyone is being fake, I’m pretty sure it’s her posts.
Sure, you could argue a photo can be "stylistically forced or calculated," but honestly? It’s still beautiful exactly as it is.

So, I caught what was easily the most original film at this year's film festival.
It was *Innocence* by Lucille Hadzihalilovic. The guy introducing her spent a good few minutes stumbling over her last name before just... giving up entirely. 😁
For those who don't know, Lucille is actually Gaspar Noé’s partner and collaborator... 😁

Honestly, I don't think I've ever seen so many single middle-aged men in one room... Not to be judgmental or anything, but I figured they were all just die-hard world cinema buffs and NFT members 😁 sitting right next to me was this massive, sweaty, balding guy in a suit—just a total unit. He spent the whole movie wheezing, sweating through his clothes, letting out these loud sighs, and then—I kid you not—actually snored at one point... 😁

It took about five minutes into the film for me to realize just how "naive" I really was. 😁image

Thoughts on the film?

My friend popped up in the first three minutes of the movie, but I stuck it out for another half hour and ended up seeing 😁 ghosts, vampires, and this creature—honestly couldn't tell if it was male or female—that pulls a cat with a massive dick out of its pussy while you listen to that squelch squelch squelch sound 😁. Apparently, she used to be unknown’s lover, and he tells her how much he loved rubbing his junk to her love poem... except her love poem smelled like absolute garbage. Then she falls into some muddy creek and he just catches her with a rock... 😁

Then there’s this gross, heavy Japanese woman in a cave who has a pussy like a tunnel (and yeah, you can actually see it)... and while he's railing her, she’s whispering all these "filthy things" that you’d probably only hear in the trashiest adult films ever made... 😁

Next, his mother comes running after him, and we watch him stab her with a sword... she's clutching at the wood with her hands, still rambling about how it's a sin to kill your own mother, and then we see she's only got her upper body left 😁 and blood is just everywhere... 😲 😁

Oh, and I spotted Takeshi Kitana... 😁 though God knows what he's even doing in this flick... 😁

unknown kills about thirty people every two minutes, and meanwhile, some Japanese Bob Dylan type is watching it all unfold while playing the guitar and singing ballads about unknown’s little adventures.... 😁

And that was just the first thirty minutes... after that, I bailed. Seriously, you have to be a total masochist to sit through some of his movies...

I have to admit, the new Ozone really let me down... Honestly, I only sat through about thirty minutes of that Takashi Miike flick before I just gave up and walked out... There’s absolutely zero substance there. On the flip side, though, Saurin's seventh day was a massive hit... even Sauro showed up at the Q&A himself... and Lila says it was a solid choice.... 🙂

Man 😍

Wong Kar-wai definitely makes the most beautiful movies, hands down 🙂

The film is just stunning, gorgeous, breathtaking, absolutely stunning... 🙂 🙂 🙂))))

And besides being a sequel to In the Mood for Love, 2046 feels like Wong Kar-wai’s own take on Breakfast at Tiffany's or even Blade Runner....

Anyway, I'm heading out...

dotur_luigi said:Wait, what was that about some of our American films heading over to New York City? Was that specifically for this festival, or did that happen already—or is it just the usual deal where nothing ever actually makes the cut?😕

No way, I was only in Riverside for like four days... all I actually did was watch Birch.

Looks like they're bringing "Here" from Ogresta to the Sundance Film Festival. 😁 Nah, I’m gonna pass on that one... honestly, if my memory serves me right, I don't think an American film has even made it into that festival since forever.

Alright, here it is. I don't know about you guys, but I've been staring at this program for way too long—it’s like trying to decipher an ancient script or some overly complicated coding manual. Honestly, just looking at the lineup makes my head spin a little. It's all very ambitious, which is great and all, but sometimes you just want something straightforward, you know? Not that I'm complaining, per se—I just think we need to be realistic about what we can actually digest in one sitting without needing a massive nap afterward. Anyway, just my two cents.

I'm about to dive into a massive pile of movies—including a few Palestinian ones. 😍 So, there’s this one movie—it’s actually based on one of Murakami's stories... titled "Toni Takitani."

So I'm checking out what's playing at the Sundance Film Festival next week 😍 🙂

And yeah—I actually just went ahead and pulled the trigger on tickets for this 😍

I mean, there's just something about being in New York City from October through Christmas... 😍
Jaws in Movies ·
image

I have to point out (despite that picture above 😁 ) that Jaws isn't actually a "shark movie"... even if there are sharks all over the screen—and I mean the real deal, not those rubbery, CGI messes we see nowadays...

Honestly, the last film that truly rattled my cage and left me with this lingering, itchy sense of unease for days was B. Dumonta’s "29 Palms"...
Thank god I sat through Dodgeball 😁 just fifteen minutes after watching Jaws, otherwise I would've spent the rest of the night completely losing it. At least I ended up laughing my head off... 😁

That movie has one of the best endings I've ever seen... it doesn't try too hard to be dramatic, it's totally unexpected, but it feels so raw and real—and when you actually sit back and think about it, it's really the only way things could have gone down...

But honestly, what does "gutter rat" even mean in this context?

I'm asking—and hey, maybe I am one and just haven't realized it yet—but seriously. 🙂

Random guy said:So there’s Mick Jagger standing in front of the mirror, while Sophia Evans76 is lying in bed just waiting for her fix—and this guy decides he needs to start reciting Hegel out of nowhere. After he finishes his little philosophical monologue, Mick Jagger gives himself this smug, self-satisfied look in the glass and mutters:

- Man, if my mustache were just an inch longer, I’d basically be Nietzsche.

And Sophia Evans76, clearly losing her patience, calls out from the bed
:
- And if you were an inch shorter down there, you'd be more like Ayn Rand.

You're projecting again. 😁 Look, Mick Jagger, when you're 6'5"... you can't just have all that height up top; you've gotta have some balance somewhere else too... 😁 😳
