Rachel Hughes49 said:That’s just awful, your taste is something else... 🙂 The guy is an idiot, he's got pathetic tattoos, pathetic songs, and honestly, what kind of loser tattoos their own lyrics on their arm? Like, "I love the colors of NYC, the smell of NYC," whatever... 🙄 As long as it rhymes, I guess. 👍
And you can't even compare him to guys like Springsteen or Petty. 😍
Look, your post just proves one thing: everyone has their own taste. Personally, I find Maxim repulsive. He's basically the definition of a total poser. He's got this generic, unattractive face, and that hair... 🙄 Robbie is a great showman, that's all. Physically speaking—and that's what we're talking about here—he's nothing to me. I already know most people are idiots; I don't need to come here and wait for you to tell me that. 😁 But like I said, we're discussing physical looks. That's a completely different thing than character, songs, or whatever. I don't have to like his rhymes for him to be hot... 🙄 But man, there are some real beauties to look at here...
Robbie Williams? Ugh. Lenny Kravitz? No thanks. I mean, Lenny’s got a decent physique, but he just feels too messy and unkempt to me, and honestly, those nostrils are a bit much... Chester? Gross. Max Martin? Please. I don't really vibe with any of them. I can't think of many others off the top of my head, but, hmm... I usually gravitate toward rappers, like DMX 👍 🙂 😁 😁 mm, yeah... singers... oh, right... Tyrese... 😍 Mekhi Phifer isn't exactly a singer, but if I remember correctly, he might have dipped his toes into music at some point, though I still can't leave him out when talking about hot guys... 🙂 and Tupac Shakur was a total stud, but sadly, he's gone now... 🙂 and locally, I guess Stoka is alright... :klap:
It’s a bit touchy trying to label who’s the best rapper or who’s the worst. I guess because everything has shifted lately... most of what you see spinning on MTV or popping up everywhere is just music made for clubs, dancing, or some kind of bounce. You look at Nelly, P. Diddy... Eminem... people just do what they know will be accepted. They want to make money, and honestly, who can blame them? Just look at how they live... anyone would sell out if they could.
The lyrics don't really mean much anymore... but then again, who is actually aiming for that? If someone is actually trying, they’re probably listening to Aesop Rock or something similar. 😁When I say a rapper is good, it’s usually because I think they have a solid flow or their tracks are easy to put on repeat.
There are plenty of guys who are huge right now but get trashed just because it's trendy to hate on them. Take Eminem, for instance. The guy puts together great beats and has flow. But I guess it's just easier to say "Eminem is an idiot" and follow the crowd... 😁Like some of those local acts back home. Total hacks. To me, they can't write a lyric to save their lives. It's terrible. The rhymes are weak. But when they perform live, the guy knows his stuff; he gets the crowd on their feet without any trouble, he’s got energy, and he looks the part.😁 😉So, if someone asks, I might say he's okay.
Then there’s a massive amount of rappers who aren't known by the mainstream, yet they're way better. They don't have anything to do with the stuff playing on MTV.
Someone mentioned Guru... well, nobody can really claim he has a good flow. 😁He just doesn't, it's a fact. Sure, he's worked on that lately, haha, but for me, the guy is a legend. I love listening to him; he has a great voice and knows his business, but the flow just isn't there. Still, I bet someone will argue he's the best rapper ever. I guess everyone uses different categories to judge.
Someone said Jay-Z is nothing special... hehehe... I wouldn't agree with that. I won't get into "Crazy in Love" and all that, but the guy is one of those artists whose first album was better than everything else he did. Meanwhile, 50 Cent had a few obscure albums before he blew up once Eminem took him under his wing. That says enough.
I didn't really follow the specific date since I was just scrolling through for new posts. Since this hip-hop thread is such a rarity, I figured I'd throw something out there. If someone else posts, cool. If not, also cool. 🙂 I wasn't around back then anyway, so I didn't have much to say, haha... 🙂
Oh, yeah, I didn't realize there was a time limit on posting... 😁 😁 😁 😁 😁 👋
Let's get back to the actual point here 😉 what do you all think about those 50 major losers at the Grammys? I mean, having five nominations and walking away with absolutely nothing 😁 lol... Honestly, I think 50 did better with those niche albums than they did with this new stuff. But hey, whatever. It was designed to sell, it worked, they made millions, and life goes on 🙂 ah... Anyway, I really need to stop watching MTV Cribs 😁 or whatever that show is called... the one where they tour through celebrity mansions... it’s enough to make you faint... sigh...
