Closed movie theaters in Indianapolis in Movies ·

Always. 😁 😍

regarding that view... it's just how it goes—the film industry keeps moving forward while we're stuck in the mud... movies are basically just pure profit and entertainment now, the audience is getting younger, and all that deep film culture and old-school habits just got lost along the way... New York City is pretty much the only place that actually adapted...

What's the vibe like in California or Florida regarding that...

Totally. 😁
Welcome back 😘

Richard Howard2 said:Because going to the movies isn't the big thing it used to be—plus, Indianapolis is basically a ghost town when it comes to nightlife and anything fun.

That brings up a good point about why things are different in New York City... since hitting the theater is actually part of the whole night out ritual there. Take AMC Theatres, for example—it’s really just a spot where you go to see and be seen before heading out, a magnet for all kinds of people, famous or otherwise, especially with all the extra stuff they have there. Going to the movie itself is almost secondary... it's more about being at AMC...

I also think the issue with places like Indianapolis is that kids (everyone under 18) would much rather hang out at the local bar than a theater. It's kind of a local culture thing too—and no, I don't mean culture in that sense.

I don't know enough about Indianapolis to start guessing, though. Saying that Indianapolis is "a dead city when it comes to nightlife and entertainment" is just a fact. But what's actually driving that?

For those of you living out there, what's your take on all this?

Mr. Pes said:A friend was telling me about this documentary she saw—some winery owner with long, messy hair said their sales just exploded because they named a wine Sideways... or something like that. Apparently, tour buses are basically swarming them now. 🤣

The whole Napa Valley area totally boomed after that movie came out. 😉

Sad this is actually sad news. 😢
I mean, why isn't anyone hitting up the movie theaters in Indianapolis? Is there an actual reason—like the equipment is outdated or the buildings are just falling apart... 😕

I’m talking about one thing, and you’re answering with something completely different.

(Like... I'm talking about garlic, and you're replying about onions.)

People just call those semantic mix-ups... 😁 👍

Is that also part of the culture?

Yep! 😁

If you're torn between two guys—is it actually more honorable to just die than to live with that kind of "messy" reality?

🙄

I mean, think about why that one totally unique, special, "different" woman from the East eventually had to die once she was caught between those conflicting choices...

Mar, honestly, it feels like you're missing the point of this movie. We're all products of our upbringing and culture—and yours is pretty intense, let's be real. 😁
So please, don't try to oversimplify something you don't quite get...

the movie didn't even pick up a single award in San Francisco—and everyone there usually walks away with something😁

Saw this in the New York Post and it felt like some cheap Halloween mask. 🙄

And check out what the director had to say:

"Papić: Critics hate me, they aren't going to like the movie."
You should've been more prophetic and just said that from the start... 😵
😁
Jeez, I wonder why? 🤔 😁

Hey redowl90, is there even one decent movie you actually like? 😁 🙂

Last time was maybe three or four years ago back at college during some late-night lecture. Pretty cool 🙂

Yeah, okay, I guess I was being a little harsh—my bad. But according to the latest gossip, Henry's marriage is hitting the rocks, so a divorce is probably coming soon. Don't lose hope just yet though... [facepalm emoji] 😘 😁 :

Look at that smiley... 😁

Man, now you've gone and given me a whole new headache. Up until now, everyone was just teasing me about whether Hank was gay. 🤣

And about the whole war thing... well, I already said what I said about being the "bigger person" and all that... 😁
Staying on guard all the time is just exhausting... 🤣

Oof, burn... that's just cold. Way too low, buddy. I can't even compete with that... 😁

Zachary Thompson2 said:I haven't really sat through much anime... stuff like Akira, Ghost in the Shell, or Spirited Away just felt kind of slow to me—especially Spirited Away, I actually wanted to walk out of the theater for the first time ever...

Are you kidding me? 😱

And here I thought we were finally starting to see eye to eye. Clearly, that was wishful thinking. Guess it's officially war now!

*throws a glove right in their face, turns around dramatically, and walks off* 😁

Just watched it. It’s a sad little fairy tale, honestly—but those colors... man. My favorite part was how the forest shifts its colors based on what the protagonist is feeling. Like, a sunny summer day just turns into a freezing slush pile... stuff like that.
😍 Visually, it's such a gorgeous film.

possible spoiler:

In Chinese films, the woman always dies right after they have sex, so I wasn't even surprised. I think when the woman dies after intercourse, they're trying to highlight the tragedy—because once she's gone, the future just vanishes with her. The man is left behind to suffer through it.
Killing the man wouldn't have had nearly the same impact.
