Which actors have let you down? in Movies ·
Jerry Martin19 said:Ray Liotta. He’s not my favorite guy—not by a long shot—but he was super convincing in Goodfellas and Identity. Then he just totally falls apart in that Guy Ritchie flick Revolver. The whole thing is honestly just pathetic and such a letdown...

he's actually not bad at all in Narc.

I was just saying yesterday how much Gary Oldman and Val Kilmer let me down. 😁😁
But hey, the best part is I’m still holding out hope...
For me, it’s definitely Chocolat...

So romantic... 😍

Next up... Three Kings... such a classic. ...and Saving Private Ryan.

For me, Spirited Away is easily his best... that whole train scene is just something else... 😍
But honestly, Howl is pretty amazing too... 🙏

I feel like Howl is right up there with Princess Mononoke... 😍

I heard Hayao Miyazaki’s son is getting into animation too...
The first one really should follow the first Earthsea book by Ursula K. Le Guin...
Word on the street is that Miyazaki was doing everything in his power to shut that project down...

Can we get a little more info on this? First time I'm hearing about it...

Man, 😍 is just pure magic... honestly, I think it’s even better than Spirited Away...

So, The Environmental Working Group—that Washington D.C. based advocacy Group—just dropped an ethics complaint against Douglass... apparently because He allegedly cited Bassin in his report, even though their findings are basically total opposites. Douglass is claiming he was just listing Bassin’s study as a related read rather than using it as a direct reference, though...

That’s exactly why Douglass is gonna end up in court—all that "he said" stuff... 😉 Of course... no way... Trying to replicate results just feels like an attempt to prove his 15-year study was wrong... honestly. What I actually care about is whether someone else—someone truly independent who isn't getting a paycheck from big toothpaste companies—can actually replicate them or not... not just Douglass...

🤣

Go ahead and do whatever you want—but I wouldn't ditch the toothpaste just because some... just some environmental group... nothing too crazy... So, apparently someone’s actually filing a lawsuit over an ethics violation just because they cited someone else's work... like, really? Just because they quoted them... 😬
But hey—that’s just my take...

Honestly, I’m out... feels like my IQ is dropping by the second just reading this thread... 😁😁

"Douglass’ $1.3 million dollar, 15 year study did not find a link between drinking fluoridated water and developing osteosarcoma. Douglass because He allegedly cited Bassin’s study is a subset of his study and that he had not been able to replicate her results.
...

"Readers are cautioned not to generalize and over-interpret results before making conclusions, and before influencing any related policy decisions."

You really gotta read the whole article first... 😉

I get how some people struggle with reading actual peer-reviewed journals—but honestly, dustycanyon6 is telling you the truth, there's no need to freak out...
If you ask me, this is just some small-scale academic bickering...
Science is a massive business these days...

I get it, I really do 😁

it just isn't happening—no matter what... 😢 🙂

What's not working? 🤔

I'm 5'10" and about 128 lbs. (honestly, I'm a girl 😁)

What really gets to me is how that same weight just... redistributes itself over the years—those extra pounds start migrating from the places we actually want them to be to everywhere else...😁
Like, my mom has been the exact same weight for 50 years, but she went from being this skinny teenager to, well, having a bit of a mom bod.
Sorry, Mom...😘

Dorothy, by the time you hit your late 20s, you start losing muscle mass and gaining fat if you aren't staying active or hitting the gym. So it's totally possible to weigh less than you did at 18, but it’s more fat than muscle—which doesn't look great.

Your mom's situation doesn't have to happen to you... you know what you need to do.

I love staying hydrated, but I don't touch beer at all😬 since I'm strictly non-alcoholic. Plus, I'm big into cycling, so the last thing I want is a shaky ride out on the road.

When the weather is nice, 50-50 miles mile intense rides are basically nothing to me—just my standard routine. I know cycling doesn't target belly fat specifically, but I still want to burn calories so those extra 2-3 pounds of gut fat finally disappear (or so my "medical degree" tells me)... but they just won't budge...

Yeah, you're right: it's mostly about a bad schedule. In my case, like I said, my "gut is poorly scheduled," but again—I honestly feel like hitting the gym wouldn't get me anywhere at all.

Just stick with the cardio because you definitely need to drop some weight somehow. You can't really control the schedule, that's just how it is. Abs will help a little—they might not shrink your waistline per se, but they'll firm up the muscle. Just keep up the cardio and watch the calories.

This basic way of calculating BMI completely ignores your actual body composition. You should probably just head to a doctor or an occupational health specialist—someone who actually knows their stuff—to get a real reading.
Because those pros use much more sophisticated methods, looking at way more variables than just weight and height—they’ll factor in things like body fat percentage through several different metrics.

That way, you don't end up with someone who's, say, 5'5" and 100 lbs, but still carries way too much fat relative to their muscle mass...

Besides, it’s just an insect bite—not like someone stepped on a rusty nail or some glass in the dirt... anyway, that's why I was asking what they gave him because I suspected that was the case, and honestly, it seems fine to me. Susan Martin24, please don't come at me—I'm just a lowly plumber, and I really don't want to argue since I can be a total jerk... plus, I actually respect your experience😈.😬

I'm telling you, in this country, you need some serious guts to be a doctor. 🤣

One of us is.
😁😁

Honestly, I have no clue what's going on with you or what your deal is (maybe you actually dealt with something serious), but if you were rushed to the Emergency Room unconscious after a car wreck, or had an open forearm fracture, or were literally having a heart attack... I'm afraid you wouldn't even realize what the ER was actually doing for you. But like this...🤣
ER and Emergency Services in Health ·
Kimberly Wright said:what kind of humiliation are you even talking about here?! and seriously, how can you say 10% of people don't belong or shouldn't be allowed at the Emergency Room? what, does 90% of the population pay for Medicare and 10% doesn't? or something?

Don't take this personally, but all these "rights" (like everyone having the right to go to the ER and tell doctors how to do their jobs, etc.)... honestly, it just feels like getting in the way of doctors doing life-saving work. 🤔
I bet there could be laws against that too...

If you're feeling good enough to argue about which therapy works best for you or which tests you want—you don't belong in the ER. Just wait until Monday and see your family doctor... stop bothering patients who are actually in critical condition and the people trying to help them.

Kimberly Wright said:'screw it, after reading all that crap in the article, they just have to hire me.' if nothing else—at least I'd save some cash on gas...

The state of our healthcare system is a total disaster.
I was talking to my cousin the other day—he’s a trauma surgeon—and he was telling me about this patient he just saw, half laughing and half just completely baffled.
Some old guy wandered into his trauma unit complaining about knee pain, the kind of pain he's been dealing with since he fell down as a kid back in the early '50s. 🤣

Honestly, mad respect to the doctors out there... they're all over the map, but you really need some serious guts to deal with us. 😁 😁
Just taking it slow until I feel the timing is right... 😉

In the meantime, maybe the mod could just merge all those country music threads into one big pinned mega-thread at the top.
That way, anyone who’s got beef with country singers doesn't have to keep starting new ones constantly.
What do you guys think about that?🙂
You really nailed it with Let 3. Like, what actually happened to them? Not just once, but lately... their whole vibe feels less like a parody now. I'm a bit out of the loop, so if anyone wants to dive into this and elaborate a little...
PrittPen said:hey 😬, this whole debate stopped making sense a long time ago.

Please. Dignity is for losers. 🤣
