This is pretty much what I expected... Just your typical corporate canned response.
If I saw someone next to me trying to fly a car at 150 mph, I’d tell them to buckle up and watch their step... but you? You’d just call in the highway patrol? 🙂
Here we go again with these preachers. I noticed some posts have vanished too 🙂
The whole point of this thread is that this kid has ALREADY DECIDED to use drugs, and he came here asking for advice. The title says it all: "I'm going to try drugs." Not "should I," but "I am going to."
The real issue with this community is the total lack of practical guidance for someone who has actually made up their mind. I bet you'd all be just as against handing out clean needles to addicts, wouldn't you? With these conservative attitudes—I’d even go as far as calling it sheer stupidity—you're just making things worse. Even if you think you're doing it for your own "cause."
And just to be clear, I don't sell drugs in front of schools. I never have, and I never will. I'm not your enemy. In schools, it's peers and classmates doing the selling, not some shady characters from the outskirts of town.
But when someone asks for advice on something they ARE GOING TO DO, I''t tell them not to do it (because clearly, the decision is made and arguing is pointless). Instead, I tell them how to get through it with the least amount of damage...
zenazmaj, stop clinging to those life dogmas and all the lies they feed you. Glad you found the recipe... for total ruin, I suppose? 🙂
Eating a couple of strawberries is great, sure. But if you polish off a whole pound, you’re going to end up miserable with a stomach ache... it’s the exact same analogy. 🙂
By that logic, am I an addict? Go ahead, vent... does a guy who drinks once start hitting the hard stuff every weekend and end up beating his wife twenty years later? 🙂
You might as well just go on record saying that every single moron and idiot out there is using every day, every weekend, and so on. Moderation is a matter of character.
If you have self-control, anything is possible when you want it to be.
A bit of advice for the younger crowd. Don't overdo it, and don't make it your "every weekend" thing.
If you're smart about it, it can be rewarding; otherwise, you're just screwing yourself over... it really comes down to who you are. If you don't have much else going on in your life, I wouldn't recommend drugs.
Provided you know how to hold the reins....
That was me back when I was around 17, trying it for the first time with an ex... it was great. Over the next six or seven years, I went through maybe 20 or 30 hits, and honestly, nothing changed for me. It’s vital that you don't get stuck in it or start viewing it as your only way to have fun.
It's funny, really. No matter how much I tried, I just couldn't grasp drawing. My grades in art class were always abysmal...
Sure, you can refine your technique a bit, but if you lack the natural knack for it (like I do), you'll eventually hit a ceiling where all you can really master is stylization. 🙂
Go ahead and grind away at some job or hobby for as long as you want... then D-day arrives and someone who put in half the effort washes you out just because they have raw talent.
Look, maybe talent is only about 10% of what makes someone successful, but don't underestimate that. That 10% creates a massive gap.
It’s also damn near impossible to define what "help" talent actually provides in a practical sense. It manifests differently depending on the field you're in. In some areas, it's barely a factor... in others, it's absolutely vital.
I’m struggling to follow your logic regarding how you claim crack cocaine is produced by baking it into small chunks.
Here is the reality. Crack is a cheap, highly physical addiction... it hooks the body immediately. Pure cocaine is an expensive, highly psychological addiction. It hits the mind.
So, if that's the case, how does simply heating up cocaine result in crack? It doesn't make sense...
So, what does it actually mean when we talk about the impact on short-term memory once I quit?
Why even bother stopping? Honestly, I’m not seeing any real consequences regarding my short-term memory right now. At least nothing major... sure, maybe a little slip-up here and there, but nothing significant enough to actually disrupt my life on a large scale.
I honestly don't think marijuana affects everyone in the same way. Some people just go numb, lose their minds, or start losing their edge... Basically, anyone struggling with certain cognitive issues shouldn't even touch the stuff.
Unfortunately, I'm a bit of a lost cause myself—I've been smoking for seven years now... pretty much every single day. I could ramble on about how it's shaped my life, but as for whether I'm "burnt out"... you wouldn't even know by talking to me. I've definitely felt the effects, but nothing that touches my ability to work or be creative.
In some ways, it's actually helped me out.
My take? If you're just sharing a joint or two with five friends a day, it should never be an issue.
Go ahead and complain. Give it everything you've got...
The best part was watching that college student's reaction. Pure comedy.
Liq was doing 75 on Minneapolis Boulevard, where the limit is 55. It’s hardly a crime when half the drivers out there are pushing 120 anyway... sure, it's technically illegal, but the penalty doesn't fit the crime.
Why don't you try sticking strictly to the speed limits on the NYC-Miami run, dear student... we can see how long it takes you to get anywhere.
Look at how people jump on these scientists immediately. "Name names," "give us proof," "show us the data." It's ridiculous. The guy just shared what he heard and moved on. He isn't out here dropping some absolute mathematical axiom...
