Tights, stockings... in Fashion ·
Jeffrey Smith4 said:Where can I snag some red grip socks?
I swung by Nama yesterday to check their stock, but they only had size 2. Even the Adriatic stores and that small town, USA shop don't have any red ones out—unless you're looking for kids' sizes.😕

Hey, have you checked out Victoria's Secret lately? They've got those red ones in, the microfiber ones.

Michelle Castillo5 said:Wow, thanks a million! *o* Were they super expensive? I definitely need to head over there tomorrow and check them out myself!

I'd say they're around $70$27. They have microfiber options, too; they carry both tights and hold-ups in all sorts of different colors.

They had some at Topshop too, and honestly, you might even track some down at Accessorize.

Like someone else mentioned earlier, I think the FBI stuff is really about control and, at least in my experience, a total lack of self-confidence.
I’m not the type to check if the front door is locked five times over or obsess over specific numbers. It’s more this constant, nagging need to find symmetry in everything. If things aren't perfectly aligned, it can actually drive me insane, depending on whether I'm having a good day or a bad one.
The same goes for spotting flaws in literally everything I see—decor, clothes, you name it. There's always something out of place or asymmetrical. A stitch on my pants, a loose thread on my shoes, even the tiles in the bathroom.
As far as obsessions go, God forbid I don't wash my hands after eating. And I don't lounge on the sofa at home; I sit strictly in my own chair because everything else feels filthy.
I also have this compulsive need to read the news every single day, and I have to do it in a very specific order. Before this, I used to be obsessed with reading certain columns on CNN, and anything I didn't get through that day, I’d save to an archive. I finally managed to break that habit by just deleting the entire archive one day—it was such a massive relief, though it took me two years to get there.
Today is one of those rougher days for me. Honestly, I feel like I don't want to buy anything ever again because I just end up nitpicking everything; I can't seem to resist that "challenge."
Looking at this Advil and B-complex vitamin right now, I'm wondering if it might actually help.
I know I should probably see a psychiatrist, but I'm way too shy for that. So, honestly, posting here is my biggest achievement...

I was actually hoping to catch that too, but right now it’s only listed as a Broadway preview. Maybe they’ll get it on the schedule next week.
Sleeping 12 hours... anyone else? in Health ·
I’m a fan of sleeping too, but I’ve always been a total night owl. I usually don't even think about hitting the sack until 3 or 4 in the morning, which means I'm sleeping in until noon or one. It’s not like I’m pulling twelve-hour shifts every single day; I usually get about eight or nine hours, though if I had a rough night before, I'll definitely sleep longer than that.
If I could actually land a decent job, I’d probably force myself back into a normal schedule, but life happens.
Tights, stockings... in Fashion ·
I’m a big fan of tights—specifically the patterned ones. I love them, and I’m big on hold-ups too. If it gets freezing out, I just throw on some thicker tights to stay warm. Honestly, though, last winter was pretty mild here in the States, so I didn't even really need to bother.
Oh, and for the record, Victoria's Secret is my absolute favorite.😁

Angela Harris33 said:It really is. I could only track down a 38.5 in Dr. Martens.

Look, Guliver carries pretty much all the footwear and they actually stock half sizes. I haven't seen that kind of variety anywhere else.

Christian Sanchez44 said:Look, if that’s happening, it means the shoes are genuinely too small—not that you need to size up. You need to find your actual size, the one that fits comfortably without causing pain (aside from that occasional heel blister when you first break them in 😬). If a pair is either way too big or way too small—like a 6 is tiny but a 7 is huge—don't bother buying them; they aren't meant for you. Just look for a different brand or style. There is absolutely no point in just grabbing a larger size 🙂

Yeah, it's pretty hard to find half-sizes here in the States.

And just try wearing them around the house to break them in. There are also those little hacks like "applying lotion to them" and other stuff—we’ve already covered similar topics in a previous thread.
Personally, I avoid buying anything that feels too tight right out of the box or looks like it's going to give me blisters. I don't buy into that whole myth that they'll just stretch out over time, because at the end of the day, I just end up with bruised feet and nothing to show for it.
Plus, you can't exactly go out and buy a larger size every single time. It works okay for sneakers, sure. But with flats or heels, it's immediately obvious if they're too big. Honestly, it all comes down to the hunt and having a good gut feeling about what's going to chafe and what won't—that's why it takes me three days just to pick out a pair of shoes.😁
Jeans recommendations? in Fashion ·
It’s fine how they fit my waist—easy enough to pull on—and they're comfortable in the thighs too, kind of like a Mission Impossible stunt where everything actually goes right. But if I stretch them even a tiny bit in the thighs? Forget it. I'm basically allergic to that feeling. Honestly, buying pants is becoming my personal version of a recurring nightmare.
How often should I be washing my hair? in Health ·
I deal with greasy hair too. Honestly, the more I wash it, the worse it gets. I usually stick to every third day, but during the summer, if I've been down at the beach, I end up washing it way more often than that...
Visible veins on my hands/arms in Health ·
Taylor Howard36 said:Yeah, I’m dealing with those same nasty, dry patches on my hands too—specifically running from my wrists down to my fingers. It’s honestly revolting.
Anyway, I’ve noticed that once I actually lie down in bed—which is totally normal, I guess—they tend to tighten up.

So, I just tried that little trick someone mentioned above—you know, where you lift your hands, or rather your forearms, straight up in the air? Well, I swear, it actually works! 👍

I noticed the exact same thing. You put your hands over your head and they pull back instantly. Takes maybe five or six seconds, then just as fast, they pop right back to how they were. Honestly, I think it’s just because it’s so hot out this summer.

I had two hip replacements done about two months ago, but I’m still staring at these red scars. I'm looking for a good cream to start applying, but I see some of you mentioning that Voltaren doesn't really do much for scarring... what's the consensus here? What do you guys think?
Anthony Carter4 said:And why on earth is there even a need to identify someone as gay?

I mean, seriously. I have no idea what people are wasting their money on.

Yeah. I mean, at the end of the day, they’re just people too. It is what it is.

feralgull62 said:Honestly, I have no idea what on earth could possess someone to buy two sizes too small just because they look stunning. 😕

I mean, props to you if they’re a steal or have an amazing design, but I only buy shoes I actually plan on wearing. If I'm going to wear them, they have to fit properly.

Just because I fall in love with a pair doesn't mean I should buy them if my size isn't available. That's just not how it works for me. 👎

Yeah, I feel the same way. It makes no sense. They get excited, buy them, and then just create problems for themselves. In the end, those shoes just sit in a box at home gathering dust...

and regarding that—a perfect life.
look, I don't see having a mountain of cash and being hot as a "perfect life." That’s just an illusion.
if a woman is constantly acting superior to everyone else, she’s definitely not perfect..

/QUOTE]

You took the words right out of my mouth. 🙂

Perfection isn't real, and her life certainly isn't flawless. It's all just smoke and mirrors because you don't actually know what goes on behind closed doors. We all carry our own baggage and we're all out here chasing some impossible standard, but we never actually hit it—there’s always something broken or something that needs fixing..

Casey Barnes;8782259 said:Here’s my take on the Trapki brand. 😉

Honestly, I have a soft spot for No Limit. They don't stretch out, they don't shrink in the wash, and they aren't breaking the bank, but

I’ve got a pair of No Limits myself and they hold up fine. On another note, those Flash ones—though I think you can only find them down in Miami—are top-tier; I actually own a few pairs.
Anyway, the Mustangs were the last thing I picked up, and yeah, I noticed they lose their shape a bit. It’s not a disaster, but I can see it on my thighs, and I absolutely hate that. I just can't stand it when my jeans don't fit right around my legs.
Mine are from Topshop—but honestly, the skinny ones are great. They stretch a little, but you can't really tell. Only I notice when I'm getting dressed—having to suck in my stomach just to get them buttoned up and all that. 😁

fadedskipper54 said:So... I finally have some clarity on what’s actually going on with me. Initially, I tried to self-diagnose my own anxiety—which, obviously, was a brilliant move on my part—but after sitting through several appointments with a psychiatrist, I’ve been given a diagnosis of a mix of OCD, phobias, and depression. It’s a bit of a mess. The thing is, my version of OCD isn't the classic kind—I'm not out here compulsively washing my hands or obsessively flipping light switches—it's more that my brain just forces these intrusive thoughts into my head... completely against my will. Not exactly a fun ride, right?😢
Anyway... there it is. I guess now I officially belong to one of those groups; p

Honestly, if we just had an option to swap heads out for new ones, life would be a whole lot easier.🙄

Just thought I’d stir the pot here for a second.
How’s everyone holding up? Staying sane?
I’m trying, I guess... but it hasn't been easy. When the boredom starts hitting me hard, my mind just starts racing uncontrollably. I have zero motivation for anything. Honestly, I just want to sleep all day....
I really should go out and grab a new bikini, but even that feels like too much effort because I’ll just end up nitpicking everything anyway....
That's become my new strategy—just stop buying things altogether since I can't help but hunt for flaws in everything. I've reached a point where I can find a problem with absolutely anything. It’s the same way Andrew Stewart2 gets hung up on asymmetry. 😠
Maybe I'll try picking up a book. I used to be a huge reader back in high school. But lately, I can't focus on anything; I find myself reading the same sentence two or three times over. Eventually, I just give up because it's so frustrating, even though I know I could work on it. A few years ago, I had this massive archive of articles saved from CNN—until one day I finally hit delete. That was probably one of the smartest moves I've ever made. I'm worried I'll fall back into those old habits, getting stuck in that "I have to finish this" mindset where I keep rereading everything just to make sure I understood it. 😲 And then I'll decide it's time for a change and move on to something else entirely.....
Sigh......
