What scenes absolutely terrified you? in Movies ·
deer_hunter said:I don't watch horror movies, so I don't have the same kind of experience you all do 😱, but even I found myself shaking—out of pure dread, not enjoyment. For me, the worst part was that creepy, grayish little creature popping up from behind the sofa in one of the early episodes of Twin Peaks, right while Lara Flynn Boyle was sitting there. Neither of them notices him, but there’s this constant, sickening sense that something twisted and wrong is happening... until they finally catch it! It was intense. 😱 🙂

Twin Peaks had some truly sick, diabolical scenes that start by making you feel uneasy—and I mean deep, visceral discomfort.
Once you get used to that unease, the actual terror starts to set in.
I still remember that little dwarf speaking in reverse; when they played it back, the effect was straight-up demonic.
And then there's that scene in the Twin Peaks movie where everything happens under a strobe light for about two minutes straight. Absolutely diabolical.

The last time I was actually terrified was watching The Exorcist and The Ring.
I've always been most rattled by films dealing with the paranormal or the occult. I really enjoyed Constantine, but that doesn't quite fit the horror category.

Grim said:I knew that Schweppes was 😬 It actually made me feel nauseous for a while. I think it’s the carbonation levels in the bubbles. 🤣 I mean, honestly,
I just stick to pineapple juice now; it's great for skin health and beauty benefits. 😁

You don't say?😁

Personally, I drink Schweppes all the time and my skin is flawless, so I'm certain it isn't the culprit here.

Grim. said:That sounds like my absolute worst nightmare. Do you drink it straight, or do you mix it with something? Is it maybe made from juice? 😬

Both of them, sister. Both of them.
I always mix mine with Schweppes. I’ve been drinking it that way for over two years now, so I have no idea where this sudden doubt is coming from.

Olivia Lopez41 tells me I need to stay hydrated more often. Believe me, I’m trying, man. I really am. 😬

My allergies aren't some valid excuse to stop betting. If anything, I'll just start placing my wagers in the dark.😁

For me, it’s always been about the vodka. I tried messing around with some beer again yesterday, but it just didn't hit the mark. At the end of the day, I still prefer vodka over beer.

Is this actually happening?
(I honestly can’t believe I’m dealing with this after years of drinking 😲 )
A few times now, whenever I’ve gone out, I’ve noticed these red blotches breaking out all over my face, only to fade away by the end of the night. I’ve been drinking the same stuff for years, so it makes zero sense why my body is suddenly reacting to booze like this. The other day I had a beer and felt perfectly fine.
But one shot of vodka and I look like a total mess with these spots everywhere.
Has anyone else run into something similar...?
Healthcare in this country is a joke! in Health ·

Honestly, I’d give anything if this were
my favorite ugly boy—the one who’s never even had his first kiss and probably never will. Don't bother telling him he should try, because he's terrified, and we all know that fear is going to keep him from ever making a move. He's just a complete moron who spends his time harassing everyone on this forum.

I honestly can’t believe this. Every single day, I find myself more and more baffled by the sheer absurdity of it all.
As I mentioned before, I took a nasty fall and completely wrecked my ankle. It was bad. I went to the ER and they gave me one of those plastic walking braces—an orthosis, if you want to be technical—along with the paperwork to submit to Medicare so they would cover the cost.
Thank God I live with my family; they stepped up to handle the logistics since I couldn't move an inch without being in total agony.
Fast forward one week, and I get a notice saying they’ve denied the claim because apparently, I don't "need" it? Are you kidding me?!!!!!!!😲 😲 😲
I absolutely lost it. I have no idea what logic they used to justify this rejection. I called the medical supply company, and the woman there—who was actually professional and polite, unlike the bureaucrats—told me this isn't even unusual. She mentioned she had a case where a patient couldn't even stand up straight due to spinal issues, yet Medicare still denied their equipment request. 😲
Anyway, I dragged myself down to the Medicare office today to file a formal appeal against the decision. But it doesn't end there... Today, I also filed a REQUEST FOR WRITTEN DECISION so I'll have the official documentation sent to my house, and only then can I really launch a full-scale fight against them.
Honestly, screw the healthcare system and the endless red tape. What is the point of paying into health insurance at all? I’d much rather pay a higher premium upfront if it meant actually receiving the services and rights I am entitled to when an emergency like this happens.

I can't even begin to imagine how people dealing with massive, life-altering health crises feel, especially when they don't have anyone to navigate this mindless paperwork for them.

What's the deal with Jamiroquai? in Music ·
Nirvana said:They might actually be more annoying than Manu Chao. I honestly can't decide.😈

That’s blasphemy... don't you dare disrespect Jamiroquai, or I'll lose my cool right here.
Natch, I simply CANNOT believe you don't know at least one thing. That's the band where the guy with the crazy hats and oversized headwear sings.

How about you just hand over your ticket to me, an actual true fan?😬

I'm practically in tears knowing I won't be seeing DJ—the man who is (alongside Carlton Banks, obviously) the most legendary hipster on the planet.
Gum addiction help? in Health ·
Hi, I’m frozenpilot2, and I’ve been hooked since I was five years old.
I’ve swallowed more than my fair share: my favorites used to be those C-brand gums and Bazooka—honestly, if the sugar in those doesn't kill you, nothing will.
My top picks? The kid-friendly Orbit (the pink kind) and those black Airwavs—they really clear out the bronchi. Pure bliss.

I also have a weakness for Chupa Chups lollipops, but only the fruit flavors. Sometimes I feel a bit embarrassed eating them; I mean, what kind of grown woman sits there licking a lollipop? I feel like I'm practically inviting some maniac to come flirt with me.
I’m pretty sure I just have an oral fixation. (And please, no sexual undertones intended here)
I actually take pride in the fact that I’m chewing gum for half the day. Besides, it keeps my jawline looking incredible...
Paramount Pictures (1987) in Movies ·
I’ve honestly never sat down to watch any of them... but I’ve been wanting to. I already made plans with my girls for a movie night—we're doing a marathon of Dirty Dancing, Grease, and Flashdance.
And obviously, there will be piles of junk food.
Long live ladies' nights... 😁
What do you look for in a partner? in Psychology ·
1. Intelligence—and by that, I mean general cognitive ability
2. Honesty
3. Physical appearance

It’s really not that straightforward.
Looking back at this, my list seems pretty basic and uninspired, but then again, that's just how it is.
