Looking for a specialist... in Health ·
Does anyone have a recommendation for someone actually competent?

Ideally, I'm looking for someone I can see privately to get everything handled in one go—I really don't have the patience to spend months dragging myself from one hospital clinic to another.

From what I've been digging up online, most of the names popping up seem to be focused almost exclusively on cosmetic surgery...
Weight Loss Challenge... in Health ·
I have to admit, I’m actually quite relieved that my sister ended up gaining weight right along with me—it meant we could tackle a diet as a team.
For the first week, we went all-in on that "miracle" cabbage soup diet, and we both managed to drop about six pounds. Honestly, I don't know if I could have survived the mental grind alone, but having her there to joke around with made the whole ordeal much more bearable. Even now, we’ve transitioned to eating lighter meals and watching our portions; even Mom has stepped up to help us stay on track since she sees how committed we both are.
I will say, though, that the cabbage soup definitely shrunk our stomachs—to the point where we can barely handle a standard serving size anymore (standard, I mean, compared to the massive amounts we used to inhale 😁)).
It’s highly probable.

I make it a point to eat something before my morning coffee—otherwise, if caffeine is the very first thing hitting my system while I'm still sitting there in the bathroom, I’ll be running for the toilet within five minutes.

What does that actually entail—are you just imagining you're sick, or does the psychosomatic stress eventually manifest into an actual physical ailment?

I'm looking for comments, advice, or anyone's personal experiences...

Personally, I’d find that incredibly reassuring! It would mean there's nothing actually wrong with me.😁

To be honest, I often find myself dwelling on certain symptoms—my family loves to nag me about being a hypochondriac—but I doubt I'd ever receive a serious diagnosis.
Though, truth be told, if you spend your entire life under the crushing stress of believing you have an incurable disease, you'll probably end up catching a real illness just from the sheer strain on your system.

By the way, medical professionals often prescribe placebos to hypochondriacs; essentially, it's just a sugar pill, but they tell the patient it's the specific cure for their imagined condition.
The individual takes it and becomes fully convinced they are "recovering." Of course, those placebos are always outrageously expensive because no "respectable" ( 😁 ) hypochondriac is going to trust some cheap, off-brand medication!
Allergies or an infection? in Health ·
For years now, my mother has been sneezing her head off every single morning.

She went through all sorts of medical testing—full panels, the whole nine yards—but nothing came back that could actually trigger such intense sneezing fits.

Eventually, she just chalked it up to the fluctuating temperatures and seasonal shifts.

Turns out, it’s not just her; a close friend of hers is dealing with the exact same thing.
Contact lenses in Health ·
The absolute best thing about switching to lenses is the sheer freedom—you can finally throw on some sunglasses without feeling like a total weirdo, or head to an aerobics class without squinting at nothing. Honestly, I can't even describe the pure joy of actually being able to see what the instructor is doing for once. Plus, they’re perfect for those afternoon naps where you just want to drift off without worrying about your vision being blurry when you wake up.
The one catch? You can't go rubbing your eyes while you're wearing them. 😢
As for everything else— 🙂
Whenever I lose my cool, I always find myself needing to jump into some kind of shooter!
Basically—for me, gaming is how I vent all that aggression.

The Refresh Contacts drops are $8.25
I rely on them whenever I’ve been wearing my contact lenses for too long—though honestly, I find myself reaching for them even without the lenses in, just when my eyes start stinging from a lack of sleep, a bit of smoke in the air, or those marathon study sessions that go on way too late.
You don't have to be a terrorist to make a point.😁
A friend of mine doesn't eat meat—not out of conviction, mind you, but simply because she doesn't enjoy the taste. She constantly finds herself at odds with those militant vegetarians—she tells me she sometimes feels a genuine sense of pity when she can't just indulge in a decent bratwurst or some thick-cut bacon just to get her blood pressure up a notch. But since those activists tend to view her dietary choices as their personal responsibility, she ends up being forced to listen to their endless, exhausting lectures about morality and ethics.

A Sane concert at KSET?
That really brings back some memories...😳

Go with something mild—maybe a botanical shampoo? I was told L'Oréal can be a bit too aggressive for what you need.

Christian Sanchez44 said:Robin Collins5, I totally feel you—it’s unfortunate. It’s the exact same story with me. Only difference is, I can't even touch antibiotics because there's already a slight chance I've become resistant to them.🙂

And what about this whole immunity thing... I take my vitamins, eat healthy, ride my bike, swim two miles every single day in the summer, and I don't even eat meat... I mean, seriously, what more am I supposed to do?😲 😁
Some people are just naturally more susceptible to this stuff, regardless of how careful they are—while others seem prone to it specifically when they *don't* take precautions... I guess...😎

Pink, which group do you fall into? 😛 🙂

It’s enough to say that last year, right in the dead of winter during a trip, I was the only one in the entire group making sure I stayed wrapped up in a scarf, taking my vitamins and propolis, and avoiding drafts (because, of course, I had been dealing with some garbage illness a month prior), etc. Naturally, my nose started running—thankfully, only on the way back.😵

I eat healthy and consistently (well, I do eat meat, so clearly that doesn't matter either), and I'm actually happily in love—I honestly thought all that positive energy might make me immune to catching something at least once, but nope... 😠

It isn't fair, especially since I even wear an undershirt.😁
I went to see my doctor today because it felt like my lungs were going to burst from coughing. She prescribed me some Augmentin and some cough syrup.😢

Oh, and I think I've only had the "real" flu—the kind with the fever and everything—maybe once in my entire life.

I’m trying... nothing to report just yet.

I don't know about you, but for me, it started with a sore throat two days ago—then the coughing kicked in, and now I’m basically blowing everything I own out of my nose.
I swear, I'm going to lose my mind because this stuff never just leaves me alone. It’s always the same pattern: what starts out as a simple little cold for everyone else somehow morphs into a full-blown sinus infection for me, and before I know it, I’m stuck on a course of antibiotics. 🙂
I just sent my sister to the Walgreens to grab some inhalation supplies and nasal drops. Honestly, it's infuriating—has anyone else noticed they don't even carry Mentoklar for inhalation anymore? Now it's just all this propolis nonsense that doesn't do a damn thing.
And how much of that Orbit Drops crap and Coca-Cola—and all that other artificial garbage—are you people actually consuming?! 😕 I don't need some complex chemical formula to tell me they aren't good for you, even in small amounts, let alone when you're consuming them in massive quantities...

You're going bald. Just accept it.
Honestly, everyone’s getting a little high-strung—I suppose finals week is looming over us all like a dark cloud.😁

Seriously, what is there to argue about when it comes to which college major is "harder"? At the end of the day, we all made our own choices regarding what to study—so let's be real: nobody is to blame if one person ends up grinding harder than another.
Take my best friend, for example. She’ll be staring down fifteen exams in a single term while I’ve got half that load. By the time I’ve knocked out one, she’s already cleared three. But there’s a reason for that—she spent four years being a total academic machine, showing up to every lecture, waking up at dawn, and sticking to a rigid, disciplined schedule. Meanwhile, I’ve always preferred to manage my own time—organizing my study sessions whenever and however I see fit.
It really just comes down to individual willpower and how people handle their business. 🙂
Casey Palmer5, you really nailed it!👍
Honestly, I feel just as completely drained after finishing an exam. Leading up to it—I’m wound as tight as a spring—but the second I hop on the bus to head home, it’s like I’ve been run over by a freight train.
Back in my junior year of college, I had to take this incredibly intense exam, and man, was it sweltering. I hadn't eaten anything all day, either. So, out of pure thirst, I practically scrambled into a Starbucks to grab a large iced coffee—and then, because why not, I grabbed a snack too. Oh boy, what a mistake!
Ever since then, my rule has been to go straight home and sleep first; I don't even think about grabbing a drink until later in the evening. 😉 😁
Hang in there, ladies!
