I heard about a similar scam once—someone sending books out of the blue, only to come knocking later demanding payment. They’d claim the shipment was an "offer" and that by keeping the books, you'd effectively entered into a binding contract. 😁 😁

Fortunately, the judge didn't buy into their little game.

Normalcy is nothing more than an escapist's paradise—mostly because it’s just a well-established routine.
The concept—clean and simple.
It’s better—if we have the choice—to stand alone.
And yet, we all feel perfectly normal.
In all their abnormalities—doing nothing at all.
Not much to say about that—except for this one thing.
What does it actually take to be? — A question far too heavy for a single thought.
Just be who you are.

Thanks, shadowgardener12—anyway,
Does it actually have a happy ending—or even a decent one?😁

I think Matanic could actually learn a thing or two from Golubovic—despite its flaws, the movie holds up well enough.
Two political undertones stuck out to me:🙏first, the older brother wins gold at the competition, yet the announcer keeps talking about how "backward" the country is, before finally closing with, "we thank the nation that produced such a champion."🤣
Then there’s that little detail... the older brother chatting with that gray-haired dealer on the ledge, right next to a piece of graffiti... the letter U🤣

did you appeal the lower court's ruling to the Supreme Court—and they just haven't gotten to it yet—or did you contest the citation itself while the local court drags its feet?

The statute of limitations starts from the date of the violation. However—supposedly—the Supreme Court issues a ruling dated within that window, and since things become final upon the date of issuance, it doesn't matter if you actually receive it a year later...

Clarify things a bit, so I'm not just talking to hear myself talk. 😉

I'm no lawyer, so this whole statute of limitations thing is even more confusing to me... there's the expiration for initiating proceedings, and then there's the expiration for enforcing sanctions—which kicks in two years after the ruling becomes final. Those are two different types of expiration.

And second,
it's clear that certain people—and there are plenty of them—are deeply bothered by anyone being honest about our failings.
It's that mass pivot toward narcissism and dodging accountability that fuels our skyrocketing rates of alcoholism and violence across the US.

That society is getting sicker? True enough... but you've got your cause and effect all tangled up.
