To be honest, the sequel left me feeling a little let down. Even though there were some decent moments here and there, the subpar acting and a messy script pretty much tanked what could have been a standout film. It felt like they were trying way too hard to chase the lightning in a bottle from Saw, but instead, it just ended up being a mediocre little horror flick...
On the flip side, Saw was absolutely top-tier... 👍

Personally, I would've had Jennifer just stay silent. In my opinion, it’s always more impactful to let the audience fill in the blanks themselves... even when it's just a trivial line like that.

I'm with you there... he wasn't a disaster by any means, but they definitely could have cast someone stronger for that part.
...
dustyscout53 made a great point earlier—you really need to sit through about 20 "standard" action flicks before you can truly appreciate something as devastatingly beautiful and soul-crushing as this one.
I honestly can't believe this movie wasn't even on my radar until now... It was playing on ABC today, and man, I am just sitting here reeling from that performance...
With Ben Kingsley and Jennifer Connelly leading the cast, I truly think they both deserved at least a nomination for their incredible work in this thing.
It’s been a long time since a film hit me this hard or left me feeling this unsettled. It starts off a bit slow, sure, but it builds and builds until that final thirty-minute climax absolutely floored me.
It is such an incredibly powerful piece of cinema, but at the same time, it's just devastating and heartbreaking... I really hope you guys get a chance to check it out, because if you don't, you're seriously missing out on a masterpiece.
I’m jumping in on the well-wishes here—wishing everyone a massive Merry Christmas and a New Year's Day packed with nothing but good vibes and some seriously heavy winning streaks on your bets... 🙂
Arthur Anderson49 said:Look, all the complaints might be valid, but that wasn't my experience at all. I didn't sit there trying to pick it apart with a magnifying glass; on a purely gut level, I thought it was great. Plus, let’s be honest—I could have watched Claire Forlani on screen all day.
👍
I'm with you there... if someone goes into a movie wanting to love it, they'll find a way to enjoy it... if they're looking for reasons to hate it, they'll find those too...
(though, to be fair, I'll admit it leaned a bit heavy on the melodrama, and there were definitely a few scenes that should've been left on the cutting room floor...)
rapidviper54 said:If you’re looking for that specific song—you know, the melody or theme that basically pops up in nearly every single scene—just check out the soundtrack...
Nah, I was actually talking about the track that plays during the end credits...
Though, I gotta admit, the score throughout the movie itself is pretty damn well done too... Just another win for this flick, I guess... 👍
Look, I don't necessarily agree with all the hate this movie's getting, though I can definitely see where people are coming from...
For the first hour, I was honestly sitting there thinking, "WTF am I even watching???"
But then it clicked. I realized this is one of those films that actually works if you just give it a fair shake and go in wanting to enjoy it... Truth be told—it’s a bit of a grind... but there’s some kind of magic to it. After three hours, I found myself totally glued to the screen right through the credits.
(Btw: does anyone know the name of that song playing at the end...)
I've been digging around online and on Soulseek, but no luck so far... If anyone has it, could you shoot it over to me via email? It's only about 5 MB, so it shouldn't be a hassle.
The song is "Over the Rainbow / What a Wonderful World" by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole (🙄)
So, I finally got around to watching this (even though it’s been sitting on my hard drive for like a year and a half), and honestly? I'm still kind of processing how I feel about it...
It kicked off pretty strong... really engaging... and I was totally leaning in, trying to get lost in the story. But after about an hour, things felt like they started to drag a bit, and the momentum just kind of fizzled out for me...
But man, that final third? It was so heavy on the emotion that you could have stripped away every single line of dialogue and the movie would still hit just as hard. The whole thing slowly gets under your skin, and that ending was nothing short of incredible...
And don't even get me started on that song at the end—it absolutely wrecked me. I’m genuinely stuck on whether I love it or if it just left me feeling hollow...
I think this is one of those movies that actually demands your full attention, and you probably need to sit through it a few times to truly wrap your head around everything. I highly doubt anyone would want to put in that much mental effort, though, since it takes some real work to fully digest it...
But hey, whatever... I’m just glad I finally sat down and watched it.
It was an awesome flick—a total drama that leans hard into horror territory. What I really loved was how they almost entirely avoided showing the actual kills (SPOILER). Instead, they leave all the gore and guts to your own imagination... 😁
In my book, the more you have to imagine, the better the movie actually is. That twist? Totally caught me off guard. That’s easily my favorite part about cinema—when a story actually manages to pull the rug out from under you...
👍
Definitely worth a watch if you get the chance....

Honestly, Pro Evolution Soccer should be an Olympic sport at this point... I’m telling you, the viewership would be insane, not to mention how many players would show up to compete... 😁
Sadly, I can't make it this Sunday, so I really hope whoever goes ends up having a blast... Let me know if someone organizes another tournament down the road... hopefully catch you all then. 👍
I’m thinking I’ll just hitch a ride with whoever is closest to my small town, you know, if anyone is passing through there... or maybe we could just meet up somewhere else entirely?
Brian Moore67 said:Alright, so we're talking about Office Space eventually.
Look, Office Space is an absolute masterpiece when it comes to satirizing the soul-crushing grind of corporate life, but let's be real—it doesn't have much to do with hackers... I mean, maybe a tiny bit if you squint, but that’s definitely not the point of the movie...
Bottom line though: it's a classic—highly recommend checking it out if you haven't...
Maybe someone could grab an extra PlayStation if they're up for it? It'd be nice to avoid a massive bottleneck at the console... Hey boldhound8, you probably have two phones on you, right?😁
Hey, HRC20, you planning on running the show this time?
Don't tell me you started this whole thread just to mess with us for the hell of it... Man, I don't even know how many people have already chimed in on this...
Honestly, trying to pull off a live tournament is going to be a massive headache because most of us don't exactly live within driving distance of a major hub like Chicago where it’d probably end up happening anyway. And here we go again with the age-old debate: are we actually playing this on a PlayStation or just sticking to the PC?
I play Pro Evolution Soccer on my PC, but I’ve got this controller that’s basically a carbon copy of the one you get with a PlayStation, so I don't really run into any issues. It's pretty seamless. Let’s be real, though—anyone trying to tackle this on anything other than a standard controller is basically asking for a headache. If you're out here trying to play with some off-brand gamepad or, God forbid, attempting to use a keyboard, you’re going to run straight into a wall. It’s just not built for it, and honestly, good luck even getting halfway through a match without losing your mind.
But honestly, the main thing is just getting the game running... because let's be real, who else would even step up to organize something like this? Would the Human Rights Commission actually pull off HRC20? I highly doubt it.
Count me in... Honestly, whether we do this online or in person, it doesn't matter—though let's be real, being there live is a hundred times better and way more high-energy...
If someone actually steps up to organize this thing, I don't think we'll have any trouble finding people to join...👍
Jonathan Ross6 said:she said: wow, it was freaking awesome! Marilyn Manson almost spat on me!!! He spat on some guy right next to me and he was like, "I am never following you guys again for the rest of my life," and wouldn't even let me touch him because he didn't want me wiping it off!!!
Man, you people are honestly the funniest... you get so hyped up over Manson that I bet you'd probably let him shit in your mouth if he asked... just saying...
Look, I love MM; he’s easily one of my all-time favorite bands. But if he spits on me? Rest assured, I'm spitting right back. He isn't God, so I'm not about to be that submissive and actually enjoy his spit... good grief, people...
And from what I recall, he wasn't really spitting directly at the crowd that much; he'd mostly just take a swig of water and splash it around the stage and stuff...
My only regret is that the concert didn't stick in my memory more clearly. I can barely remember some of the songs because I spent the whole time staring at Manson and the band instead of actually listening to the music. For instance, during Tourniquet, I was way more fascinated by finally seeing Manson on those stools after looking at countless photos of it for years...
Maybe he'll swing back around the States in a year or two... provided he can actually put out another decent album and still has the energy to tour...🙏
Honestly, your best bet is just to shoot them an email and ask directly. They’re actually super helpful when it comes to this stuff. I used to message them all the time with random questions, and they always got back to me pretty quickly with clear answers. So, if you're stuck on anything, just hit them up—you won't be left hanging for long.
So, I finally bit the bullet and opened an account at that sportsbook a few weeks back... The registration process was a total headache, though. They’re super picky—you basically need a Visa or a Mastercard just to get through the door... Then, get this, you have to send over photos of both sides of your driver's license and your credit card via fax or email... It was a massive pain in the neck dealing with all that red tape, but I eventually got it sorted...
To be honest, they aren't quite what I expected. The odds are criminally low compared to what we usually see at the local US sportsbooks... I mean, they're consistently about 0.3 to 0.4 lower than what I'm used to... 😲
Still, it's not a bad way to pass the time if you just want to bet for fun... maybe toss a couple of bucks on a game here and there... (Just stay far away from the casino section) 😁
