So, looking through the IMDb Top 50, here’s the list of stuff I actually haven't sat down and watched yet:
The Godfather Part II (finally checked out the first one yesterday, by the way... 😛 ) Schindler's List Casablanca Citizen Kane One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest Pulp Fiction Psycho The Godfather Apocalypse Now To Kill a Mockingbird Some Like It Hot Taxi Driver Das Boot 2001: A Space Odyssey Reservoir Dogs Fargo Blade Runner The Shining Full Metal Jacket
So, I actually caught a screening today over at Broadway around 4:00 PM. I honestly thought the movie was pretty good...
It was entertaining enough for me... even if it didn't hit the mark every single second... but yeah, it was fun... especially those first 45 minutes.
If nothing else, the visual effects totally blew me away. The way they pulled off all that CGI and high-tech nonsense is legitimately fascinating to watch. The craftsmanship on The Nautilus, the invisible man, and Hyde... just incredible.
A lot of it feels a bit forced or "extra," but I never found myself bored for a second. Definitely a solid flick to check out if you have some time.
Man, I seriously can't believe this... look, buddy, you are genuinely off base here.
😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂
The only time you really hear voiceovers added to a movie is when they're translating it for a different language market. But even then, they don't bother with subtitles; they just go full dubbing mode.
FOR EXAMPLE: look at how all the German networks handle things over there... 😠
Honestly, if you’re spending that much time glued to our local networks, my best advice is to just switch over to American public broadcasting instead...
I mean, seriously, just stop watching our stuff altogether... That’s basically how I picked up my American—well, let's just say I learned the language by immersion... I used to spend about three or four hours a day with Channel A and some American news outlets, and boom, there you go...😁
Right at the end of the movie, after all the credits finish rolling, there’s this little teaser that says: COMING SOON - AIRPLANE III (or something along those lines) 😁
William Morris2 said:Did anyone catch that poster for Rocky VII? It was some old guy wearing boxing gloves.
Pretty sure it said Rocky XXXVIII, not VII. 😁 😁 🙂
People are losing their minds... I almost took out a wall trying to follow William Shatner out of the theater because I thought the exit was just a giant monitor... 🙏
Yeah, that music video is absolute fire... I mean, I honestly couldn't believe they went all out and put that much effort into a single video... They're literally playing in the mud, buried up to their necks...it's freaking legendary... 👍
The absolute highlight for me was that scene where the guy on the ship is talking to Shatner on the monitor, and then suddenly he just pops the door open and walks right into his room... That’s where I completely lost it. 😁 🙏
And don't even get me started on when the guy giving advice to Striker starts saying "striker, Striker, STRIKER" while staring intensely at the dude sitting next to the girl, and then—boom—the guy just goes for her. 😈 😁
Personally, I’m obsessed with this 🙄 (it’s definitely my go-to, alongside the 😁 obviously) and then there's this 😛 (though I don't really lean on it that much...
As for this one? Total garbage: 👋 , honestly looks like the hands are growing straight out of its head....
So, I finally sat down and popped this one in on my old VHS player last night...
Out of all those so-called "teen slashers," this one was easily my favorite...
It’s not even strictly a horror flick, if we're being honest...
More like a high-stakes thriller... 😁 But man, it's a fun watch. That scene in the airport lounge where they're just hanging out while the plane takes off? Absolute standout. But hey, I won't spoil the rest for you guys...
I'm definitely planning on giving it another spin soon... 👍 7.5/10
Honestly, the absolute highlight of the whole movie for me was that scene where Denzel tells that story about the guy who managed to dodge jail time just by stuffing peanut butter up his ass and then eating it right there in court...
The funniest part of the film, hands down...
Also, man, watching how Denzel just relentlessly messes with that kid at the beginning... he’s got such a way with words...
I’ve always had a massive soft spot for those "single-location" thrillers—you know, the ones where the tension just cranks up because the characters are trapped in one spot? Movies like Panic Room are exactly my vibe. Because of that, watching Phone Booth is a total must on my list.
I really hope he pulls it off...
By the way, who exactly is this Colin Farrell guy?
So, what else has he actually starred in? I feel like his filmography is pretty deep if you know where to look.
