Taylor Swift 🙂 don't be sad...that's just how our guys are...
Honestly, I’m still getting worked up over those old ladies on the subway who practically hover right in my face while I’m sitting there. Like, could you maybe move? And then when I finally decide not to get up for them, they start muttering under their breath about me. I swear, I'm losing my patience with them..
And honestly, I am getting so incredibly frustrated with these inconsiderate drivers lately... Look, they have no idea that I’m pregnant, but that doesn't give them a free pass to park so poorly that I can't even get into my own car. It used to be that I could just squeeze past, but now? There's no way I'm trying to wedge my belly through any tight gaps. 😂
It honestly drives me up the wall when my grandparents start asking if the baby is "back from the dead" or some other nonsense... I’m just totally over having to explain myself constantly. And don't even get me started on seeing people I haven't run into in ages. Their very first comment is always, "Oh wow, you've put on weight." Then, once I tell them, "I'm pregnant," they hit me with that incredibly dim-witted, "Oh, ah, sorry, I didn't realize..." If you're going to be that tactless, then please, just don't say anything at all.
I’m reading this all and I honestly can't believe it...
It seems like I might be the only one who actually had a positive experience with that ice cream shop... they ended up charging us less $83 than the actual total... it was basically their way of giving us a little gift. So, I really don't get why some people act the way they do.
Emma’s treats... honestly, hats off to them. Everything was delicious, and that cake was nothing short of phenomenal. They’ve definitely earned my lifelong loyalty—I mean, what can I say when there were only about 20 slices left after serving a cake meant for 230 people?

I’ve noticed most of them I see online are pretty small, but I’m actually looking for something much larger—maybe three or four tiers high. I'm honestly not sure if custom bakeries are even willing to build a massive cake like that without using supports to hold up each level.🤷
I don't have a photo handy to show you exactly what I mean, but I think you probably get the idea.😉
I'm actually planning on doing a three-tier cake without any supports... and it's for a crowd of about 230 people.
I picked up some pastries from Emma's bakery... and while I was debating whether they were actually worth getting, I ended up asking for some samples and walked away with a whole pound of treats for free.
I finally managed to get through to my mom and convince her that having 65 to 70 pounds of cake sitting out on the tables is just overkill... we really don't need that much, and that's just for the hotel catering alone. Thank God,
Nathan Cox25 said:Do you have any idea which small local spots you're talking about? Everywhere we've gone lately, people seem obsessed with getting those little paper receipts with their pastries—I guess it's just a way to shift the blame if someone gets food poisoning, right? My mother-in-law is one of those people who’s always baking for everyone—back when my sister-in-law got married, the whole family returned the favor with enough homemade treats for two weddings, yet they still ended up having to buy basic snacks for the little ones.
There are a few... I don't really want to name names here publicly, especially since some of them might not be your favorite places anyway. 😉I'll shoot you a DM instead.
Nathan Cox25 said:So she runs her own small business? Man, we could've easily scored about ten homemade cakes and a full spread of pastries for the wedding for free—but nope, since the hotel won't budge without official invoices and paperwork, we're out of luck. 🤷
Whether you're looking at those small local diners or even some of the larger upscale spots, they don't really press you for that kind of paperwork. It feels like hotels are just trying to play it safe and cover their own bases.
Our cake is going to have four layers. The bottom layer will be something chocolate-based—which isn't really my thing, personally, but since we're doing a four-tier setup, we need that solid base to hold everything up. Above that, there's a fruit cheese parfait, followed by a fruit yogurt parfait, and finally, the top layer will be a hazelnut parfait (kind of like those gourmet spreads you find at Whole Foods). Weeeeeeeee!
