Karen Doyle2🙂 said:Hey, I stumbled onto some stuff about radishes... there’s a ton of info here and it actually seems pretty smart..

Okay, check this out, it's actually interesting:
Eating large amounts of radishes too often isn't recommended because it can be bad for your kidneys. 😕 😱
And then there's this:
A salad made of freshly grated radish mixed with oil and lemon juice. You shouldn't add any salt! 😱 Kyle Nelson2, what's your take on this? I'm kind of lost... you're always telling us to use salt, even though I only salted mine once, since I actually prefer it without it—plus, it feels way spicier when I add salt. 😕

Part of the issue is when toxins don't "drain" through your lymph system properly—you know, maybe because of clogged lymph nodes from all those breakouts or those annoying bumps under the skin.
You could probably boost that drainage by getting some cardio in, like hitting the stairmaster or something. Pair that with staying hydrated (but don't go overboard just chugging plain water like everyone suggests, since that can actually flush out your vitamins and electrolytes).
Just grab some electrolyte water that’s actually designed for that.

Maybe I threw too many lifestyle changes at you at once, but hey, just pick whatever works for you.

But how do you even know what works for *me* specifically? It's not like I haven't tried most of this already. And yeah, I drink plenty of water. I'm not about to overhaul my entire life overnight just because someone said so. But if I want to try eating black radish? Sure, why not? If it helps, great. If not, who cares.

And you still didn't answer whether you eat it as a side dish or if it has to be prepared a certain way.

Kyle Nelson2 said:You’re supposed to eat it like a salad, but just salt it—nothing else. No oil, no vinegar (maybe a splash of lemon, I guess?). Some girl once told me that even a little bit of vinegar can totally ruin the flavor of black radish.

So basically, you just toss it in as a side dish with things like steak or potatoes, right? Honestly, I actually prefer it without any salt at all...

Kyle Nelson2 said:Flavor-wise, an old, sitting-around black radish gets super spicy, whereas a fresh one is "just" bitter. It makes sense why they’re all so biting lately since we just came off such a long winter. You might want to find someone you trust to get some from.
I'm over in Brooklyn, NYC, so I can check with the local vendors around here and let you know what they have if you're interested.

It’s weird though... sometimes it’s unbearably spicy, then suddenly it isn't. Total roller coaster. But the taste is good, really, if you can just deal with that heat.
I'm not from New York, so don't worry about checking around for me. If anyone else happens to be in NYC, then cool. Thanks.

Oh really? Not experimenting? Then how do you explain trying that stuff out on some younger girl? 😉

You actually suggested this radish thing in another thread a while back, so I gave it a shot. Honestly? I only lasted four days before quitting... but I'm gonna force myself to go through with it this time. It's not like my skin is a disaster or anything, but there's definitely room for improvement... so I'll let you know how it goes.
And hey, you could probably monetize that recipe of yours. 😉
Best, 👋

Yeah, it’s brutal. Personally, I actually dig the taste, but man, it is SPICY. 😠 ....
Any tips on how to dial down the heat?

So, I grated it for the first time today and everything was fine for maybe three or four bites, then suddenly—BAM—it was so spicy I just couldn't take it anymore!

Kyle Nelson2, is this meant to be a side dish for something, or are you just eating it as its own thing?

mistybear4 said:It’s actually pretty wild how much you can do for your own health and skin—you know, beauty and cleanliness too—just by drinking more water... that "recipe" doesn't cost a dime and it can honestly make a huge difference.. 🙂

I remember seeing this massive debate on some beauty forum... everyone was going off about WATER. Most of them were basically saying nobody even knows where this whole idea came from. Like, who decided we actually need two liters a day??!! Who made that up? Who actually backed it with real evidence? It was just one big argument over whether the whole thing is just a massive lie!
Too bad you can't go back and read it now.....

tea tree oil gel: made by Pfizer

name: Tea Tree Oil facial cleansing gel

Yeah, I’ve heard of that one. Honestly? I’ve been hitting up basically every drugstore in town looking for it and coming up empty... total disaster.

Some girl on this forum actually recommended it to me—I think she lives out near San Francisco or somewhere around there, said they have it available there...

thanks

Kyle Nelson2 said:So, one of your goals is to cut back on all those different types of "sugar," and maybe drink more water throughout the day

I don't think that's quite the issue here... I mean, I actually went sugar-free for a few months once, but honestly? It didn't do much. And water-wise, I’m already pretty decent, drinking about a quart or two a day—just plain water, not soda...
Maybe it's more about how sugar interacts with other foods? I guess some expert would need to dig into that, but for now, I'm not really planning on just cutting out sugar entirely...

Could it be the milk? I used to almost never touch it, but over the last five years, I've started having a glass every single day. I can't even imagine my mornings without some warm milk and cereal. Funny enough, that's right around when my skin issues started acting up about five years ago... hmm, makes you think, right?🤔 ah
Dealing with a Tiger problem in Health ·
I mean, I’ll eat pretty much anything, honestly. I'm talking high-end meals one day and total junk food the next. And don't even get me started on my sweet tooth... it's a serious problem. I absolutely live for anything sugary, and more often than not, I end up overdoing it.

But hey, if it actually works, then I'm all in. I'll take it.

Kyle Nelson2 said:I’m gonna dive a bit deeper into this whole mess. My take might be a little skewed, but whatever.

Some guy (a herbalist down in El Paso) told me the whole thing stems from carbohydrate metabolism. He put me on this lousy therapy for nine months that was supposed to "reset" my metabolism. Supposedly it didn't work, but I had some seriously weird reactions, so I don't think it was all for nothing.

Apparently, it could be a version of seborrhea—you know, that "dry seborrhea" type that runs in families.
It's like throwing gasoline on a fire (if you listen to Chinese medicine). If you're constantly loading up on carbs—like, drinking tons of milk—your digestion probably takes a hit. You can usually tell if your breath starts acting up. You really need to switch over to yogurt and fermented stuff.

Maybe the issue (or it was) is gut motility. Like, toxins build up in your system because things aren't moving through, and your body tries to dump them through your pores instead. Or maybe that's just what some doctors claim... who knows.

phew...

And lastly, they say there's a psychological component to all of it too—self-acceptance, body image, all that jazz.

there's definitely some truth to that....
and I honestly think it's all about digestion... what you eat, how your metabolism works, and yeah, your mental state too... if you're susceptible to that stuff, there's your problem. Even though my digestion is solid, my skin isn't great... I eat pretty much everything... maybe that's it? I guess I'll give radish a shot... hope it doesn't taste like garbage. As long as it tastes somewhat like regular radish, I'm good!

so you're saying it helped that girl after a month, but what about you?

Kyle Nelson2 said:Look. I’m no MD, but I think I figured out the logic behind it.
Basically, your liver pumps out certain proteins and fats to keep your skin lubricated. But when you’re running low on vitamins or minerals, the liver starts churning out these substitute substances it thinks you need more of, and they just end up piling up. Along with that buildup, your skin gets all greasy and your hair starts thinning out.

Black radishes have more minerals than pretty much anything else out there. By eating them, you’re basically giving your liver what it needs to secrete the "real" stuff and flush out all the existing junk.

Truth be told, I dealt with this crap for like a full decade—those deep, under-the-skin bumps. I spent a fortune visiting estheticians and trying every little thing.

The thing is, those deep ones tend to spread because they clog up your lymphatic system. And since lymph is basically our body's sewage system, the problem just keeps spreading around like a disease.

I actually suggested black radish to this 16-year-old girl recently, and within a month, everything cleared up. Now she's stoked because she can actually wear low-cut tops without worrying about going outside. Honestly, if she keeps being this grateful, we might just end up starting a farm together. 😁

Thanks for breaking that down! Can I even find those at a local Whole Foods or something? 😁 Maybe I should give it a shot?
And how did you even stumble onto that?

Kyle Nelson2 said:Then you’ve got the surface-level stuff, like mites and whatever. You handle that by cleaning your face regularly, but don't go using those crazy aggressive soaps. There’s this tea tree gel that’s actually decent.

Yeah, tea tree is great, but it hasn't been enough for my skin... I already use an essential oil and a cleanser from it. What was that gel you mentioned? What's the brand?

Thanks!

Douglas Phillips4 said:Oh yeah, Apple 🙂

www.apple.com > they actually list all their soap types and ingredients

I’ve got the lavender one🙂

So how did that lavender soap actually work for you? Like, is your skin super sensitive or just mildly annoying? Or was it just helping with the grease so you aren't constantly shiny?

Douglas Phillips4 said:So, I picked up some natural face soap over at Walmart (yeah, a guy shopping at Walmart, 😲 😁). It’s not even one of those specific acne washes—just some random antiseptic stuff—but honestly? It works. Like, really works. My skin actually feels like it's finally healing up 🙂

I can't even remember the brand name, just that it's one of those local, homegrown companies... 🤔

Man, that's 100% Apple. They've got all those organic lines, whereas the local brands are... well...
I've tried some stuff from a small tea company too, but nothing life-changing there...

give me some details here...

just grab some black radishes... eat them every day like a salad... just grate 'em up and add salt...
it'll cost you maybe $6.75 a month or so

and in about a month, you're good to go.

explain yourself; back it up.......!!! how does that even work?

William Doyle2 said:I’ve been working on my laptop on my lap for a few hours every single day this past week... maybe there's a connection?

Didn't you catch that study about how laptops on your lap affect things? Apparently, it causes heat buildup in the groin area, which messes with sperm production and lowers fertility, blah blah blah... I don't remember all the specifics, just try looking it up online somewhere.

Basically, it's nothing to mess around with. If you're holding it on your lap for long stretches, you really ought to break that bad habit... do some digging and get informed.

here's the gist:
summary

This book breaks down hypnosis for everyone, making it easy to see how this stuff can actually help you out in your day-to-day life. It’s not just some trick up a hypnotist's sleeve; it's a power we all have inside us. If you get the hang of it and use it right, the benefits are endless. Using self-hypnosis as a type of therapy can take the edge off incredibly painful or heavy situations—and the best part? None of those nasty side effects you get from meds or surgery.
Dr. Brian Roet, who’s been killing it in hypnotherapy for over 20 years, walks you through how to actually apply self-hypnosis. He'll clear up those fears and old prejudices people have about hypnosis, making it simple enough for you to just step up and help yourself.

let me know if any of you have read it. I definitely want to. 👋
